- OUTDOOR SENSOR: Introducing the first Z-Wave motion detector created for outdoor use. Monitor activity remotely through your Z-Wave hub (required, sold separately) and automate outdoor lighting based on motion. Keep away from direct rainfall and sunlight.
- EASY TO INSTALL: Add it to your system quickly through auto-inclusion and mount it in minutes with just a couple of screws. Power it with batteries (included) or micro USB (cable + adapter sold separately). Program motion time-out and light level trigger by turning the knobs right on the sensor. No advanced settings available (there's only one sensitivity level for a solid 30-foot detection range).
- COMPATIBILITY: The sensor works great on HomeSeer, Hubitat, Fibaro, and Vera. Custom device handler needed for SmartThings (go to Zooz support portal or contact seller for instructions). Does NOT work with Wink, Ring, ADT, or other Z-Wave alarm panels. Alexa is NOT a Z-Wave hub (the sensor won't work directly with Echo).
- SECURITY: Equipped with the latest authenticated S2 security protocol for encrypted signal and hacker-proof smart home (NOTE: your Z-Wave hub needs to support S2 for this feature to work). Tamper protection and low battery alerts for your peace of mind.
- SUPPORT: Questions or issues? Zooz has fast and responsive US-based support to help you with set-up, functionality, and automation routines. Just ask!

Great outdoor motion sensor
This is a great motion detector. I use it with smartthings - you have to use a custom device handler. The product description states that. I found the device handler after a quick search of the SmartThings community and installed it when I ordered the sensor. When I paired it the hub it was recognized as a zooz motion detector. I played with it indoors for a bit before installing it outside. Very easy to install. Two screws for the mounting plate and two screws to attach the sensor to the mounting plate. I checked the operation at night and it worked perfectly.

Make sure you understand what is necessary to work great with SmartThings before purchasing
I have been looking for and looking for an outdoor motion sensor that I could install under my car port facing toward my house so that I could be notified of motion around my vehicle and front door area that would work with SmartThings. I am very please with the Zooz Z-Wave Plus S2 Outdoor Motion Sensor which has been installed for over a month now. You do need to be prepared to install the custom handler for SmartThings which I feel that the instructions were fairly simple and easy to follow however if you do not have some minimal tech and PC savvyness you will likely not have a good experience with this sensor when using it with SmartThings. You must install the custom handler which thankfully SmartThings supports because it allows a company like Zooz to make a device like this and not have to wait for SmartThings to develop the full support for the item. I am real happy with the responsiveness when there is motion. I have mine set to maximum sensitivity so sometimes even a small bird or quick change in lighting detects motion but that is the point for my desired setup. I could lower it but I like it to be at the maximum. I also purchased the Zooz Z-Wave Plus S2 MultiSiren ZSE19 with Temperature and Humidity Sensors which you also need the custom handler to work best with SmartThings but I have it setup so that there is a fairly loud custom door bell sound when motion is detected during the day and a quieter sound during the night. I did not need to contact Zooz support as I am quite tech savvy so I can not rate their support other than I found everything I needed on their support website that I needed to operate this device. After almost 2 months the battery meter still shows 100%

Seems ok.
Had this for only a week so can’t comment on battery longevity. Easy to mount using the supplied screws on existing PVC board over the garage. Hooked up to smart things via z-wave with essentially no problems. Hub is only about 20 feet from the zooz motion sensor and goes though several walls and a floor. Instructions could be better and took me some time to figure out the “timer” and “lux” controls as well as the smartthings connection. There is no third control for sensitivity as I see on other motion sensors, but I don’t think that’s a problem. I have a smartthings automation to turn on zigbee smart bulbs on fixtures in the front of the house on motion detection during the night; timer and lux control on the motion sensor are not really needed if you set up the automation right. So far, pleased.

Works Fine with Aeotec Z-Stick and Indigo 7
This has solved a problem for our family when approaching our normal home entry door. As I have this set-up with rules in Indigo7 on an old MAC-mini to turn on and off an entry light, my wife is extremely pleased that she now has light at night when approaching the door and leaving the house. I have just guessed that the battery life is probably good since we have had it installed for only a little over a month, but it works well in hot and cold weather, so far. I was anticipating problems with my older Aeotech Z-Stick, but after two or three attempts and figuring out the quirks it worked fine. I have a newer ZOO-Z ZWAVE stick running in parallel with OPENHAB that detected the device, but the OPENHAB database as with many things is out of date.

Excellent sensitivity and Z-Wave Range. Helpful status light when activated by motion.
This unit has excellent PIR sensitivity and it's Z-Wave range is excellent. Pairing was very easy. My only minor critique is that the unit does not report temperature (recognizing that many motion sensors do indeed also report temperature). The fact that this unit can be deployed outdoors is a plus. However, to be very clear, this unit is not actually water-tight. It can be deployed outside, but putting it somewhere where precipitation might directly hit it is not a good idea, as the base plate does not have a washer. If you mount it on a vertical surface, for example, water could easily enter this unit.

Works with OpenHab
As February 2019 it works with the beta version of OpenHab Z-Wave plugin. Easy to install and configure if you know what you are doing.

Works Well
Installed this in shelter over my truck. The shelter is a ways from house so was concerned about signal not reaching, not a problem. It is schedule to react to motion during dark hours and turn on flood lights aimed at truck. Tried to get it aimed in such a way that it will pick motion along side of truck (the doors) but don't want wandering animals setting it off. Cats climbing on truck will set it off, but that is OK.

Works well with Vera Plus
The Zooz ZSE29 Outdoor Motion Sensor has pretty good range and a surprisingly wide field of coverage. It seems wider than the reported 100 degrees. Adding it to Vera Plus with UI17 required some manual steps, but the required steps are published on the Zooz support site and are trivial. This involved adding the device as a Generic Z-Wave Device then making some simple edits to the device configuration. I give it 5 stars despite the additional steps because that's a Vera issue. Zooz support provides better solutions to integration problems to Vera owners than Vera itself.

Bought for outside...
I bought several of these for outside use, but ended up using them indoors as they are very quick to respond and have a fast reset time, makes automating people walking around the house very star trek like. I can dim the lights after a person leaves a room almost instantly. Silly but fun things to do, I have tons of various other motion sensors and none are this responsive and quick to reset.
