Works as expected good value for the money

The Hydrometer kit arrived in a well packaged box and the Hydrometer itself has a protective plastic case for safe storage. Overall I was impressed with overall quality of the sample tube and hydrometer. They even included a brush to clean the sample glass. The numbers are easy to read and there are bands to indicate gravity. The only real complaint I have is that the hydrometer is slightly tilted so it sometimes rubs against the sample glass tube. This could impact the readings. Would be better if it sat straight.

Quality

A nice quality set. Some sets will have the cylinder made out of low-quality plastic, but this is very nice, thick, durable glass. The added cleaning tools (the brush and cloth) make the deal all the sweeter and we're of good quality. Been using it for mead making and it's worked well thus far!

Great hydrometer

This is a high quality hydrometer. Unlike others, it is made from all glass materials. It seems to be very accurate as well.

Excellent value

My first run on several batches over a day. I'll assume it's accurate - it seemed to measure the SG of my distilled water at 1.00 by line of sight. I make fruit wine and cider for vinegar production so it's not an essential tool but it's very nice to be more exacting when trying to set up to get a potential 12% ABV for the wine/cider step. If only measuring acidity was this simple. For the money, it's a great value. The measuring tube is sturdy and stable. It's reasonably easy to clean - not as easy to dry. The hydrometer itself is easy enough to read and simple to clean. The whole set is glass though and likely rather fragile. The box it comes in is very protective though I may find/make a wooden box sized to hold the inserts this came with. Overall: well pleased.

Just what the doctor ordered.

The item arrived quickly it was packed very well.Great care was taken to insure it would not be damaged. It contained everything needed to make wine and beer correctly.The in enclosed instructions for use were clear and esay to follow.I would recommend this.
