First off, I would note that all of the negative reviews of this monocular reflect the writer's lack of knowledge of what optical specifications mean and/or the inability to use and adjust a scope for the optimum clarity. This product is exactly as described for size, weight and power. The 40mm objective lens provides for a very good image in low light. The adjustable eyepiece is convenient for eye glass wearers. I was very impressed with the quality of the scope and optics at this price level. The body has a rubberized texture and knurled surfaces on the adjustment points. It feels solid and should hold up to minor abuse. although it is a little heavy, it is about the weight you would expect for it's size. I was able to zero in and get a sharp image with little fuss. Although one can view at 30x magnification with a minimal amount of shakiness, the ability to attach a tripod is helpful for extended viewing. The monocular is easy to slip in a pocket or carry with the included lanyard. It comes with a case that has a belt loop attachment. It has lens covers although they do not have a tether attachment meaning they can be easily lost or misplaced. You can do much better for a monocular if you're willing to spend more money. At $30 for this one though, you can't go wrong. You are getting a 40mm objective lens, BAK4 prism, fully coated lenses and lots of other useful features making it an ideal scope for all kinds of activities.

I purchased this item for a hike/cruise excursion that I am going on later this year. My wife and I had fun in the front yard siting-in neighbors and cars on our street to test it. The image was very clear. In the past, with monoculars and binoculars alike, I am always asking myself the question of which magnification to bring on a trip. With these, I really enjoy the zoom feature that covers the 10x - 30x magnification range, and that the device is much lighter than I expected. This monocular will be very useful for trips by plane for these reasons...having a wide range of magnifications to choose from in a single, light-weight device. I also liked the price.

I bought this to replace a pair of Bushnell’s I carried on patrol. While it is not super crisp like higher priced optics, it is a surprisingly good image. Excellent low light quality too. You won’t be disappointed. These are well worth it.

I used the monocular mainly for target spotting on the shooting range. The image is extremely clear, and the wide zoom range allows for easily finding the area of interest then zooming in to gather detail. It is almost essential to use a tripod at the 30x end of the zoom, as was expected. Overall quality is very good with no perceptible distortion or chromatic aberration, and the unit is easily packed in the included carry case for safe transport. A couple of minor errors in describing and packing this new product: (1) It came with two hand straps, not the "neck strap" promised on Amazon. (2) The instructions showed an interesting attachment for using with a cellphone to form a long lens for distant photos. The attachment was not included, and there was no information on how to obtain one. (3) There are numerous translation errors in both the Amazon product description and the instructions included with the unit. These are amusing, but really should be corrected to make this a serious product.

I took this monocular on a hike. The first thing I really liked was the case with a belt loop so I didn't have to carry it in my hands. This was a really nice feature. The other great thing is the zoom feature. I've never seen another monocular with it. I would spot deer and birds with it zoomed out, then zoom it to 30x and was amazed by how much closer and better looking the object was. The optics were nice and clear. I didn't use a tripod on my hike, but plan on getting one for this monocular. I can see where it can be a great fit. I would highly recommend this item.

I took a chance on this item because of the reviews here on Amazon. I didn’t expect too much considering the price. I have to say, I’m more than pleased. It has really good image quality, great eye relief (I can use it with glasses), and appears to be solidly built. I plan to enjoy some wildlife viewing on my trip to the Everglades next month. I wasn’t able to get it to come to focus initially and was ready to send it back 10 minutes after I received it. Then, I read the instructions. Didn’t think I needed to; I own several astronomical telescopes and binoculars from mini to giant. Wrong!! I missed one thing and that caused the problem. I mistook the twist-up eyecup for the focus ring. Once I read the instructions everything was fine and I was a happy camper. I have no reservations about recommending this item.

I was a bit skeptical about purchasing this telescope because of the cheap price. It takes a little practice to get it going. I mounted my Gosky Universal Cell Phone Adapter Mount on it and took a few pictures with my iphone. I purchased the AmazonBasics 67-Inch Monopod to go with it. The jury is still out on that combination. It takes a very steady support to view and photograph at the 30X magnification setting. It will fit into my pants pocket but it is not comfortable there. The carrying case has a belt loop which I will use when not wearing a jacket with suitable pockets.

So far, I’ve used this monocular to look at birds and animals while hiking and have been impressed with how clear an image you get and with how easy it is to get it focused! (It’s even been easy to adjust between 10x and 30x magnification and has needed surprisingly little adjustment) It’s also very easy to carry. You can twist it up very compact and slip it in a coat pocket and it comes with a nice little carrying case. One thing I will note, for anyone who’s like me and hasn’t used a monocular before. It is important to look at the directions :) When I first took it out of the box and just tried to use it without bothering to read the directions, I couldn’t see anything - it was just fuzzy. Then, after seeing that it needed to be extended first and then that there was a handwheeel, suddenly it worked perfectly! I’ve included pictures of the monocular next to a large mitten, just to give you a sense of how portable it is.

Have had this a few days now and tried it at night and day. Solid and smooth. Holy cow I saw a planet low on the horizon and through an overcast night, not sure which one, too late for Mercury or Venus, not red enough for Mars, maybe Jupiter. I thought I might have seen moons even in such lousy conditions. Clear, bright, distortion free lenses even out to the edge. Love the focus and zoom action, very smooth. Focus holds even when you zoom in or out. The zoom feature really makes this special. Pretty wide field at 10x (maybe almost 6 degrees?).

I bought this monocular because the description mentioned low light and easy to use if you wear glasses. I had purchased another monocular from another company which did not work well with glasses, but this one really does. I can see very well with my glasses on and it is powerful. Also, as indicated, the low light option really makes a difference in the early morning hours and at dusk. I use it in a deer blind and would certainly recommend it. Really good quality for the money.
