Good receiver with optical output

I had been looking for a good receiver with optical audio output. My yamaha receiver does not have in-built bluetooth. So this is a perfect fit Very nice looking and sturdy quality. This is the cheapest bluetooth receiver i found with optical output. Very happy with the voice quality. I had another bluetooth receiver connected to yamaha receiver with RCA cables. I compared both receivers side by side, with same input device, same song, same volume level. There are few songs which sounded same on both receivers but few songs (which were high quality) were louder and cleaner on this receiver compare to other. I am also happy with the range. I could control from 2 room away (like 50 feet or so) easily and still no broken connection. It comes with optical cable which is a plus , no need to buy separate cable. I recommend if your device can take optical input (mostly AV receivers, not for car) then this is a very good buy.

It works as advertised!

Works perfectly with my older receiver. We can now use Alexa to stream music through it. It added a breath of life to perfectly okay, but outdated receiver!! Set up was simple. Highly recommended!!

works pretty well

I got this so my grandson could listen to his phone on my stereo. It works well but seems to have a little "whine" or something that you can hear between selections. He doesn't even notice the extra noise though. I can hear it through the stereo even when it is set to another function, like CD's or FM. I suppose it is just a transmitted signal harmonic or something. I don't think the sound is CD quality but then maybe it is the I-Pad or phone or music service lower quality of sound.

Is it worth it? ABSOLUTELY

PROS-this works great in the living room where i use it for music, it also works great if i have my phone on me and i’m walking around the house and it doesn’t loose connection, CONS- had a small connect problem at the beginning, it had a hard time connecting to my phone( android) but my son tried his iphone and worked just fine, after that it started to work.

Absolutley Amazing

I'm using this on a mid to high end system. The sound is simply amazing. I am really happy with this product solid build and toslink And they even include it. For the price of this unit to have that connection and to include a cable is great and rare. BUY IT!@@

Wonderful long range receiver with Very Good sound quality

I am using this device with the B03 and they create a perfect pair for a low latency bluetooth connection from broadcasting from a smart tv to a wired sound system. I also use this device as a standalone receiver plugged in to an older AV receiver via the optical port and it delivers very good sound quality. Side note: the optical cable included in the packaging was surprising high quality. The range quoted in the description is correct. I have no problem streaming to this device from any place in my home. Overall, this is a great addition to a sound system and I would recommend this purchase.

Exactly what I needed

I needed something that would allow me to play audio from my laptop or my phone through my nice stereo system in my home office. I use the optical output and keep it powered with the AC adapter. Laptop and phone come and go from the office, but it seems to remember the pairing. I haven't had to re-pair either device. The range of the device is good enough that I crank up the stereo in the home office and play audio from my phone as I move about the house and it maintains the connection. If you need a device for bluetooth audio in > optical audio out, this one works and was reasonably easy to set up and use.

Works as it should. The unit has many different outputs including optical so you have alot of flexibility. Also the unit seems to be of high quality, doesn’t seem cheap. Time will tell.

Would be great if the optical output worked - revised

Purchased with the specific intent of using the optical output. Although the unit functioned very well with the audio plug, and it was very easy to pair with two separate bluetooth devices, it failed to function as advertised. Manufacturer's support quickly offered to send a new optical cable, but when advised that several functioning optical cables were tested, all of which failed, support stopped answering emails. Here is the revision from 2 to 5 stars: In follow-up communication initiated by the manufacturer, the problem was resolved entirely. Electronics have an initial failure rate, on which this retailer (apart from Amazon) made good. The ease of paring, sound quality and in my case no distinguishable latency make me a happy listener. I'll get more of these.

No lag long range audio!

Purchased this Bluetooth unit in order to connect my receiver and use my outdoor speakers for an outdoor cinema. Very long range reception without any lag (no lyp-sync issues). Audio quality is pristine through my external DAC then sent to the receiver through your regular RCA inputs. Would recommend to anyone with an older receiver wanting to gain wireless capabilities.
