At first was a little concerned by the small packaging I received. But once I opened it up and saw the quality of materials used to make the LED strips, I was impressed! I installed my bed lights in about 3 hours. The only thing I had to add to the materials I received was extra wires. The material that came with the kit didn’t have enough lineal feet of wiring to reach the interior dash of my 2015 Tacoma, where I wanted to put the switch to operate my lights. But it was my choice where to put the switch. All in all, I am totally satisfied with the light kit! I’ve shown it to several friends and they are impressed! I absolutely recommend this bed light kit to anyone who is interested.

Very bright lights, I didn’t use them in my truck bed. But I did install them in my 7x16’ enclosed cargo trailer & they work pretty good. I’m happy with my purchase, a little iffy on the adhesive LED strip wondering how long it’ll hold up & stick. But hopefully I won’t have any problems! Definitely worth the $. Might purchase another set if these hold up.

Awesome lights for my awning!!!!!!

I installed these over the weekend - hardest part was having to run a power wire from the battery through the cab, under the bed and up to the rear tail-light. And that wasn't even that hard. Then I mounted the lights to the bottom of my utilitrack rails. Much of the light is aimed downward but there's enough reflection when it's dark out to light up the whole bed plenty. They come with plenty of wire, I had way too much extra on the driver side so I cut a good portion out, and ended up splicing it into the passenger side which was long but still not long enough to reach the driver side where everything is connected. All in all if you have some basic electrical soldering skills you can easily make this work for your needs. Warranty will go out the window but just test everything first and you'll be fine. Time will tell if the adhesive lasts, but make sure you clean with alcohol first. I saved the clips just in case I need to screw them in. I also had to cut a foot off each length. A razor blade pushed straight down at the spot marked for cutting was all it took. Overall, for $20 you can't beat it.

I previously had a battery-operated truck bed light by Access in a company truck. It installed in 5 minutes and worked pretty good, although the light strip was only 12". When I bought a new company truck, I decided to really see for myself if this hard-wired kit was really worth it, and I can tell you it is. The construction is high-quality, the wires are a heavier gauge wire and it appears to be very well made. I tied it into the backside of the 7-Pin trailer connector which was much easier than running wires all the way to the battery. And wow, these lights are BRIGHT! Total installation took me 1 hour. I will be installing more of these in my other trucks! And you get over 8' of total light for less than the 12" Access strip.

I installed these in a 2015 GMC Sierra with the 5.5’ bed and a Retrax bed cover. The truck had 2 small LED lights in the bed that were just OK. Thankfully they were wired to the factory switch in the cab so that made the switching part super easy. The lights seem very well made. I got the 3 strip kit and one of the strips is wired from both ends, and two of the strips are wired from only one end and have a cap on the other. Worth nothing is that the capped ends have a generous amount of silicone, which is great. The mounting tape doesn’t say 3M but that’s what it looks like. I cleaned the underside of my aluminum bed cover rails with alcohol before sticking them in place and it seems extremely secure. Normally I hate any type of tape-mount anything but these may actually stay put. Like most all strip lights you can cut these, and it’s even marked as such with a little scissor icon and a dotted line. I cut mine down by about 18” with a pair of diagonal wire cutters, piece of cake. When you do, I suggest you pry out the plug on the factory end and then squeeze some clear silicone into the cut end, then seat the plug. If you can’t get the plug to work just fill about 1” of the cut end with clear silicone and you should be fine. The silicone actually doesn’t impede the individual lights so don’t be afraid to kind of fill up a cut end. There’s no such thing as a one-size-fits-all light kit. Yeah you can make all the wires and connectors work, but on a small truck you’re going to have way too much extra wire and on a full-sized 8’ bed it might be tight. If you have just a little electrical know-how, my suggestion is that you just ignore the plugs and Y-harness and all that and just cut it all to fit. Then crimp or solder connections and make this work for your application. It’s not hard, you just need to be a little creative in order to end up with a clean, custom installation. You don’t want an ugly bundle of extra wire. It’s really, really hard to mess up these lights electrically. When you strip open the harness it’s just a red and black wire, positive and negative. Don’t get caught up in the factory plugs and think you have to somehow bundle up 7’ of extra wire just to keep the connections intact. Cut those suckers off, route your wire, make good connections and you’re in business. The light difference is MASSIVE. Especially under a closed bed cover where you don’t get any help from the high-mount cargo light. I went from two little LEDs to daylight-bright strips. Absolutely love it. And it operates on the factory switch so that’s nice. This would have been a great upgrade for $50 or $100, so for $30 or whatever it was, it’s a total no-brainer. I think the negative reviews are from people who don’t know what a wirenut is and are afraid to cut off the factory plugs/ends.

Very good complete package of hardware and the lights are great quality. I wish these were ip68 rated but for the price and where I installed them the fully waterproof rating should not be needed. I did use my own connectors for the wires but anyone can get by with the included hardware. I appreciate the fact that everything you need is included in the kit and for an amazing price.

I have a tonneau cover, so in daytime it's hard to see under the dark cave formed in my truck bed. At nighttime, obviously it's dark in there. These are bright, unobtrusively installed under the bed rails, and don't interfere with the tonneau or any cargo. I mounted the switch just inside the tailgate and ran power from the battery. You'll need some more wire for a fullsize, 4-door truck to install that way. I also got a few more clips to secure it. The light strips are self-adhesive and stuck well, but it only came with 4 clips. I'm a little OCD about doing things once and over engineering them, so I ordered a another package of clips from Amazon and put 4 per side. I live in a hot, sunny climate and heat builds up under the black tonneau, so I wanted to be sure they wouldn't ever come off.

Edit: I purchased the set of 2 LED light strips to install inside my camper shell on my pickup bed (the lights are overhead). They are SUPER BRIGHT! One light would have been more than bright enough for a pickup with a camper shell (cap) when installed overhead. Wish I'd saved the money and only purchased one strip, but I'm still very pleased with this. They're new, so we'll see how long they last. These lights were very easy to install. I'm a woman and have never added lights to a pickup bed, but this was very straightforward for my teenage son and me. With a camper shell on the pickup bed, it's hard to see without additional lights. This set of two strips is very bright and works perfectly. The extension wire that comes with the set is very thin, and not very long (I think only about six feet or two meters). Would probably work if it were going to be all inside the bed under the camper shell and connected to other lights already in the shell or bed. But my truck doesn't have any other lights installed, so we had to run this under the truck and connect it directly to the battery. I purchased a spool of wire for this. This set also includes a fuse in a fuse holder that is already installed in the wiring for the on/off switch. The extension wire goes from there to the battery or power source. We used 14 ga wire. Probably heavier than needed, but it works. The setup for the lights isn't complicated at all. The adhesive on the back of the lights is strong, but we also used the included brackets to hold them firmly to the camper shell. I purchased another set of three lights exactly like these that we will install in an enclosed cargo trailer using a separate battery inside the trailer. These lights work perfectly and are set a great price. They appear well-made and durable. I considered a set from another company sold for around $10, but they looked so flimsy -- little more than a strip of tape with tiny LED lights attached. I'm happy with the purchase.

I used the product along with an LED flasher controller to make an under the hood flasher to keep mice from entering my engine compartment. It works great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The mice have cost me $$$$$$ in repair costs from chewed wires. These lights are fantastic for keeping them out!!!! Here's the description of the controller I used. 12V Wired Control Module w/ Solid, Strobe and Flash Features Compatible With Car, Boat, Household LED Strip or LED Bulb... I bought them here on Amazon also. UPDATE: Vendor offers a "surprising gift" if you write a product review. I have submitted my review and a copy of my order as requested, but no gift. Hmmmm, will customer service be the same if I need assistance with the product???
