Babybjorn Original versus Ergobaby Performance with newborn insert: Bjorn for newborns, Ergo for older infants & toddlers!
I had bought an Ergobaby (Performance) with newborn insert before because I was told that it's the best. While the Ergo worked for my now 10 week old baby boy, we didn't feel comfortable using it with the newborn insert. It gets pretty hot in summer, I felt like I had to hold the head all the time since it was very far down and I was worried the baby would suffocate, the two worst things were that first, the baby didn't feel completely comfortable because the legs were in a weird angle and his feet were still inside the carrier, my baby doesn't like if something is pressing against his feet, he wanted to push back and stand up and then cried many times. Second, it didn't feel safe to put the carrier on alone with the baby in the newborn insert since I could only hold him in the insert against my body with one hand while putting on the carrier and one time he actually almost fell out. For these reasons, I ordered the Babybjoern original and we love it. He feels comfortable in there, his head sticks out the right length (hight of the carrier can be adjusted) so he doesn't suffocate, his legs hang down as he likes it, he is in a better upright position, because the Babybjorn is less wide on the sides. It is super easy and fast to put on and there is no risk of him falling out. Another advantage which I have not tried out yet is that the baby can face forward. There are a few downsides with the Babybjorn: it doesn't have a hip belt so the weight is on the shoulders/ back and it might hurt once the baby is older and when walking longer distances, it works "only" for babies up to 25lb/11kg (Ergo Performance up to 45lb/20kg), no sun cover (which I like in Ergo). CONCLUSION: The Babybjoern is much better for me and my 10 week old baby boy. I am sure that once the baby gets older and can stick out his head on the top and his legs can hang out on the sides at the bottom and once he is heavier (hip belt will be needed), we will prefer the Ergo so I am glad that I have those two! Summary Pros Babybjoern Original: - easy, safe and fast to put on - forward facing option - can be adjusted to the length of the baby, so the head sticks out the right way - more comfortable foot/ leg position for a newborn - nice straight upright position for a newborn Pros Ergobaby Performance with newborn insert - very nice hip belt, so the weight is on the hips not on the shoulders - higher weight limit, so it works for older children (up to 45lb/20kg for Ergo, 25lb/11kg for Babybjorn) - nice sun cover - equally easy to put on once the newborn insert is not needed anymore

Easiest Baby Carrier!! Love it.
I LOVE this carrier. I bought FOUR different carriers before we settled on this one. It is by far the quickest, easiest one. PLUS, it's the only one my baby girl liked & could tolerate being in. (she was 5/6 weeks when I tried them all out, she's 7 weeks now & still loving it!) All the carriers I bought were... 1. Baby Bjorn Baby Carrier Original - Mesh (that's this one) 2. MiaMilly HIPSTER Plus Organic Carrier with Infant Insert (didn't return - saving for when she's older, returned the infant insert tho) 3. Baby K’tan ORIGINAL Cotton Wrap style Baby Carrier (it's like a wrap, but easier - returned) 4. Infantino Flip 4-in-1 Convertible Carrier (returned) Here's what I thought of them all. 1. Baby Bjorn Baby Carrier Original - Mesh (that's this one) This is THIS carrier that this review is on. I LOVE THIS CARRIER!!! - The snaps are SO easy to get on & off, & I don't worry about snapping her fingers in them. Plus I can easily fasten all the snaps with one hand. I don't need any help or assistance from anyone to get her in or out of this. - It's SUPER EASY to get on & off. - If my babe falls asleep in it, there is a way you can completely unhook the portion that supports your baby, from the straps on your back, so you can get them to a crib without waking them. It supports my baby perfectly, & is the only one that she will allow me to put her in. - It's mesh so it's super breathable & we don't get super hot & sweaty being so close to one another. - It scrunches up real small & I can easily toss it into my diaper bag - Even when she's crying, I can put her in there & just start walking, & she calms down. - She LOVES that she can look out & around. My baby is now 7 weeks, & is still getting the strength up in her neck muscles, so you can pull the straps on the carrier around the baby's head to keep it closer to your chest & support their head more. Then you can loosen those straps as the baby gets older. - Plus when she gets older, she can face out. - I can use this with her for up to a year of age. There is a way to adjust the height of the carrier. Meaning when they're super young like mine is, I can have it so her body is higher on me when I wear it. As she grows, & can adjust it. - It's real easy to adjust the tightness of the back straps 2. MiaMilly HIPSTER Plus Organic Carrier with Infant Insert Really like this carrier. We're keeping it for when our babe is older. We did send the Infant Insert back... - The insert just didn't feel very secure to me, & the whole thing was just a lot to do when you have a little one. - You have to put them in the insert first, then put the whole thing with them in it, into the carrier. Not something I could easily get my babe into by myself while say, at the airport. - It's all bulky, so it's not something I can just shove in the diaper bag. - We love the carrier for when our babe gets bigger. - It's something my husband said he would wear (he won't wear any of the others) & it's just an overall awesome carrier. 3. Baby K’tan ORIGINAL Cotton Wrap style Baby Carrier (it's like a wrap, but easier) This one I wanted to much to love. A couple of Mom friends of mine have it & love it. I got her in it once, but the second time I put her in it she just wouldn't have it. - Might just be a thing with my baby - I don't think she liked having her head covered & tucked in there, so wraps might not be our thing. - The wrap itself is pretty easy to get on as far as wraps are concerned. - Folds up pretty compact. - Has it's own carrying bag. 4. Infantino Flip 4-in-1 Convertible Carrier I honestly didn't even try to put her in this. It was just not what we wanted.. & the buckles are very hard to do & loud when they clip closed. We pretty much took it out of the box, tried it on us, then put it back in the box.

Our 4th carrier and finally a winner!
The baby bjorn carrier is my 4th or 5th carrier that I’ve tried with my 2 boys. The first kid (he’s now 8) I had a sling carrier that worked but wasn’t very convenient. I couldn’t really do anything while holding him. Then I got a Moby wrap when he was about 4 months old. It was cool, but I never mastered how to put it on without watching videos or having help from my husband. So this baby I knew I wanted an ergo. I’d heard so many amazing things I knew I was going to get one. Fast forward to after having the baby, and he hated it. I was so disappointed. It might have been the infant insert that he hated, I’ll try it again at some point. But I bought the baby bjorn because I read reviews that it was better for smaller babies (he was 6 pounds when born and now at 3 months he’s probably 12). This was so easy to put on and take off. I didn’t need help from anyone and never even watched a video. He likes it a lot and once fell asleep in it! Yay! It was also a great price. Amazon fluctuates so much on cost that that is not really a selling point I can guarantee. But I can say that this carrier has been a winner for this baby and hopefully yours too! Every time I purchase something online, I always check the reviews. I count on others to help me choose the best option. My reviews are always my honest opinion and I try to include photos if possible. If my review has helped you in any way, please click the "helpful" button below so that I know! If you have any questions feel free to ask! Thank you!

And Grandmas love it too
This was a gift I brought to my son for his 7 week old baby. 5 minutes every time we put the baby in his BabyJorn the baby fell asleep. Even when he was awake he never cried in his baby Bjorn. We were in China and visited some historical site full of 5 story buildings with no elevator. I had the baby in the Babyjorn for 3 hours and he never fussed or cried. This is a must have for every new parent! And Grandmas love it too!!

AMAZING carrier!!!
Baby Bjorn is AMAZING! I can't tell you how many different carriers I have went through trying to find the perfect one and I have FINALLY found the perfect fit!! I tried 3 different types of Ergos and ended up returning all three because they were either to bulky, to hot or just to uncomfortable for both baby and I. But I thought I'd give it one last go and order another carrier and oh am I glad I did! This is so comfortable, baby can be faced in or out, there's not infant insert required and it grows with baby! This is definitely a must have baby item!! Plus you can't beat the price!

Comfortable and long lasting
We are using this carrier for 7 months already and we are completely satisfied with this one. It is adjustable to baby’s height and weight. We are using to both ways: baby facing my/my husbands chest (usually if she is sleeping during our walks) and baby facing the world around her (all the time that she is awake). Our little girl enjoys it. It really helps me to get my hands free for some stuff while I still can carry my baby around.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Excellent product. Bought this for my grandson,s wife,s baby shower. I ordered it late and was hoping it would arrive in time. It arrived as was quoted, the morning of the shower. WOW, what a crazy concept. A company honoring there commitment to a customer. Shower was great. Baby carrier was just what she wanted. Grammy earned her five stars that day. Thank you Babyjorn and thank you Amazon.

I think he feels nice and safe in the carrier because he's close to ...
Just get it. This baby carrier was truly a lifesaver for me and my wife. As first time parents, we had no idea what to do when the baby started crying because he was tired. We spent hours, days and nights carrying the little one in our arms to help him fall asleep. Until one, yet another sleepless night, my wife remembered that we had bought this. She locked the baby in and walked around the house for about 2 minutes and the baby was asleep! We use this to help our baby nap to this day (he is now 4 months old). I think he feels nice and safe in the carrier because he's close to our bodies, which helps him relax and fall asleep. You can also undo the carrier part only with the baby in the carrier - so when the baby falls asleep, we lay him down on the bed while he's still in the carrier, and unlock everything. You don't have to deal with waking up the baby trying to get him to sleep in his crib!

Must Have Item
I have a newborn who likes to be with me all the time. That makes it difficult to complete tasks around my home so I like to baby wear. I have a couple of fabric wraps but didn't feel like they were secure enough. I bought this and love it. Baby is right on my chest and secure. I haven't worn this for hours but the hour that I did have it on the shoulder straps did not dig into me nor cause strain on my lower back. I'm really glad that I purchased this carrier

I have a traveling buddy now! She loves house work!
UPDATE: I put our baby in this all the time. She is more comfortable in it now and tolerates me doing stuff around the house. Especially if she can scratch or hit whatever I am doing to keep her entertained. Hah. OLD: At this point in time, I have put our daughter in it once and after 5 minutes she had enough. I feel like it fits me well and that she is secure in it but I could tell she didn't feel comfortable in it. I'm hoping she changes her mind in the future because it would allow me to do stuff around the house if she is clingy that day.
