Dont k ow if it actually kills bacteria or mold but the ozone this thing gives off is brutal... definitely make sure you have a good knowledge base of how these lights work. Ozone has ha half life but this unit gives off quite a bit for good measure double up your clear time "AIR OUT TIME"

Works well in standard light fixtures. Bulbs are easily put away and stored for future use. Bulbs removed the odors from a very musty room. On opening the door after treating a room an immediate aroma that smelled like a freshly chlorinated swimming pool was very evident. The rooms odors dissipated thoroughly after 6 hours. Note that both the UVC lighting and, the ozone odor are both harmful. Take proper precautions.

Use this for a little bit of insect control inside and well, I think it works. I put one of these in every room on Sunday mornings before I go to breakfast, let them burn for about an hour or so, come back and there is the lovely ozone smell that fills the room. I'm a welder, so I am used to it, but it can be a bit much for someone who has not been around it before. After it airs out it has a really fresh and clean scent, kind of like a hospital. Works fairly well for running off small creatures and insects from inside, as the UVC directly affects DNA directly. Just NEVER look directly at the light.

Since I don't have the luxury of having scientific tools to test and/or measure the effectiveness of this bulb, as claimed/described on this item's Amazon page, I could only rely on my senses. I tested this in my 200 square foot sunroom. I placed a moldy cardboard box, 2 pairs of smelly sneakers and several pairs of soiled and smelly socks on the floor, and as per directions in the included manual, using a timer, I set it for 15 minutes, left the room, closed the door and waited. After 1 1/2 hours, I opened the sunroom and the first thing I noticed was the smell of freshness and trace of ozone. The foul odor from the sneakers and socks were gone, so was the moldy odor from the box. Based on this test, I could honestly say that this bulb is very effective in getting rid of bad odor. What I can't vouch is whether or not it killed the mold spores ( no scientific instrument to test with). I'm satisfied with the result, so I just ordered another one.

Yes! Other sellers are selling 18W or 20W siniliar lamp+ballast assemblies for $65. You can also spend $100 for a different type that is more energy efficient, but has the same price break point after a year when bulb replacement is necessary. You guys offer a 25W lamp, with ballast and Edison screw base, option for ozone, and it's only $15! That's amazing! I can make my own bracket and install the UVC lamp in my hvac ductwork. Saves me lots of money, so I think I'll use two instead, one for the coil, one for the ducts. Edison screw bases are cheap and easy to wire to even for a novice. ...just got the light..wow! It works! I was at first concerned about the smell after an hour of room disinfection, then I read a scientific paper detailing the scent after UV disenfection (no worries now, excellent product!)

Very happy with the quality of this product. Within hours of placing the order, the seller contacted me warning of the hazards inherent in their product. I was very impressed! A conscientious seller who risks possible cancellation just to make sure I understood the risks of UVC radiation and ozone, protecting me and my family, is a most impressive thing these days. Well-packaged product was of the highest quality, too! I take drugs that weaken my immune system and get skin infections easily. I use this lamp to sterilize my bedding on days when I cannot wash and dry my bedding in the sun. Very Powerful UVC not only sterilizes sheets and pillow, the ozone produced sanitizes the whole room in a few minutes. Be sure to have a trusted brand of UVC-blocking glasses and be aware of ozone hazards before ordering. This lamp is NOT for tanning, so be sure to protect your skin too. I leave the room and turn the lamp on with a separate remote control.

Bought it to take care of moldy smell in a 150 square feet room. After repeated use of 15 minutes per day, a couple times a week, a month later moldy smell is pretty much all gone. So I would say this works as described. Highly recommended.

I bought this because the college apartment I moved into smells like marijuana amongst other smells. I used it in 3 of the bathrooms and 1 bedroom so far and it does the job. I have no idea if it's killing anything with the UV light but the room smells fresh. you could probably smoke a cigar in your room and then turn this on for a half hour and not smell it again.

I think everyone knows that ozone can be extremely dangerous. I have been using it for almost 20 years. I am very happy with the design and ease of use of this product. I place it in a section of 6" duct with a fan motor that pipes in outside air. I coil the duct so that no light can show and wait for the smell. I have an almost airtight basement with vents in the floor. I can only run the ozone light about 20 minutes. Just as soon as I smell anything, I shut the ozone light off. So far, I think I have finally beat the bad air around my area. My CO2 monitor tells me I have decent air. My hepa filters take care of the rest.

First, be careful with this bulb and don't take it for granted. the energy it produces is no joke. Make sure to think through where and how you use it. I've used mine in my garage, air handler and other rooms. I've had great results putting it in the bathroom and it sterilizes everything. Put it in there , let it rip for an hour then turn on the exhaust fan. I have multiple cats and will kick all the cats out and put the light in the room with the door shut. It eliminates cat odors extremely well. I've used it around their cat boxes as well and I can tell you it WORKS. Just be sure to get all cats and pets out of the room. It makes carpets smell better and blankets too. Just remember this light is "anti life", take using it seriously. My one complaint is that the top of the bulb on mine has a crack in it since I got it. Fortunately it works fine but I'm sure anyday now it's going to stop working. My bulb is not the 185nm but still makes a slight ozone smell....don't listen to reviews that say it smells harsh...it's doesn't. Open a window or turn on the exhaust vent and it sucks it out anyway. It's not strong smelling and at least to me, wasn't irritating at all. Much better then the smell that was there before!
