I purchased these because I have a small, 195 gram Hawkhead parrot who is not really a chewer and expected these to withstand her playing but the first time she chomped down on it she broke open the outer ball. The description uses the word "parrot" but I cant see this standing up to anything but a baby parrot or conure. More for buggies and tiels. It's a great toy if your bird has a tiny beak. UPDATE 6/18/19 I'm updating my rating based on Tropical Chickens customer service. I wrote my somewhat critical review because I felt they should be more specific about the size of the bird that this toy is good for and that is still valid. I was not looking for any compensation and then out of nowhere I get a package in the mail today from Tropical Chickens with a toy that my bird will be able to use. That is great customer service and demonstrates that Tropical Chickens is concerned about what their customer think. I won't hesitate to purchase something else from them if the need arises. Thanks Tropical Chickens!

We love this rattle! It is very high quality and very durable. It's sure to provide a lot of fun for our babies. We also like how the balls are detachable from the handle for more ways to play. Much love to Tropical Chickens from Ziggy, Peeko and flock ❤💛💚

I've been following Tropical Chickens on Instagram for a while now. When I saw that they were releasing a toy, I knew it would be great, and I knew I definitely wanted it for my green cheek conure. There's no one I know that's quite as dedicated to their flock as they are! First of all, the packaging was cute, and I absolutely love the Tropical Chickens logo. I let my conure play around with the rattles, and he's not used to the jingling of the bells, but he's definitely getting a lot more exercise by throwing it around and running away from it! I love the idea that the balls are detachable from the rattle, definitely nothing like I've personally ever seen in a bird toy. It's my second day of letting him play with it, and he's already loving it!

Houdini, my 3 yr. old parrotlet, is in birdy heaven. Not only did he love the rattles but the cute box it came in and the shredded paper packing not to mention the envelope it was shipped in. He gets into the box and plays with the paper, chews on the cardboard box and hides in the envelope then he tosses around the rattles. If it's something he loves he gets really territorial about it, sort of like "my toys don't touch 'em" He has claimed all of these items as HIS.

My little conure is obsessed with this toy. (Is that a good thing? ) Before he seemed to prefer found toys to the ones I spent money on, but with this one he spends hours (and hours) working on it, hittting it back and catching it. Can't figure out why he likes it so much--the noise, the ability to hang on it, the colors? Hope the company comes up with a second toy as good, or can recommend a good bird therapist

These are adorable! My birds are young so they’ve just started foraging and the shoes are a great, small “open” foraging toy. They also LOVE the rattle. Well, I think it’s more of a love-hate thing when they push it and it pushes back lol but they play with it a lot, so that’s a good thing! Also, the packaging is AMAZING! You get a good amount of shredded paper in the super cute box! They know what makes our feather babies happy- I follow them on ig and they have a few fids of their own, as well as many other animals. I will certainly be buying more items from Tropical Chickens!

Still working on getting my girl to not be afraid of the rattles, she's a rescue so is only warming up to the idea that new things from me are GOOD! She's very interested in the shredded and crinkled paper it was packed in and the small box with the shredded paper and the rattles would be an oh-so-fun package for a bird to open itself - my girl just isn't there yet. I've stuffed the rattle heads with some of the paper crinkles and after three nights of ignoring all this during our play sessions she has started to play with the crinkled paper and no longer ducks when I touch the rattles. We'll get there!!

Awesome new toy for our yellow sided green cheek. The rattle/bell is different sounding than your typical cat/bird rattle which is nice. The handle and two balls are also a great feature as sometimes our girl can get feisty when she is playing and this allows more control when we play together. She enjoyed throwing this off the top of her cage and watching me pick it up and repeat for longer than most toys of this nature before moving on . Great that it comes in a two pack Update: I’ve hung one in cage and it has become her new favorite toy

Let me start by saying .. this toy is LOUD! Our 7 month old Caique baby loves this toy so much. She was startling the other birds because she likes throwing it and it makes a loud sound when it hits the bottom of the cage BUT you can detach the balls, which is great because it’s easy to hook onto the cage that way. With that being said, be careful because it’s not super sturdy. Hei Hei was standing and hanging from it which freaked me out. It held her weight surprisingly, but I still wouldn’t hang it too high up. I took one ball off and she holds the toy like a mic, and rolls the free ball around as well. Overall it’s a really great toy but only if you can tolerate loud rattling / bell noises. Our cockatiels are afraid of it but the conures and Hei Hei the chicken (Caique) loves it. Would definitely recommend for active, playful medium sized birds who don’t destroy toys quickly.
