Delicious!

Since being diagnosed with celiac, I've been missing a lot of foods I took for granted before. I hardly ever ate junk food, but when you want some, it feels worse that you can't even have it as a treat anymore. I gave my partner a bite of the vanilla one and he said it tastes even better than a real Twinkie. I thought maybe it was because it had been so long that I thought it was better, but they really are! They come freshly baked and the box says to freeze upon receipt. I kept one of each kind out and froze the rest. I can take one out of the freezer the night before and take it to work for lunch,or Imocrowave for 20 seconds. Be careful microwaving because the filling is kind of gross if you let it get too hot. They're pretty good frozen, too. ;)

This Is a Game Changer!

We LOVE this whole brand. Having family members with food allergies really limits what we can eat. These are not only super yummy but safe for everyone. We are dairy and soy free and these have changed treats at our house. They do contain egg so if that is a problem than this will not work. Even my husband likes these and he does not always like gluten free items. I really value their commitment to creating allergy friendly treats.

All four of these cakes have the texture, softness, and most critically taste, of a non-GF product. If you’ve been missing your Twinkies, Ring Dings, and the rest of that lot, this is the one to buy. But just like the non-GF versions, calories add up real fast so use in moderation. Please try not to eat the whole box in one sitting.

These are amazing!

My nephew and I both have to be on a gluten free diet for health reasons, and hands down, these are the best treats we have tried yet! They are worth every penny! They arrived frozen and I keep them in my freezer until I am ready to eat them. They do not take long at all to thaw out. Finally a gluten free product worth eating!

Reasonable fascimile of cherished bakery junkfood - Freeze Immediately!

Reviewing the horror stories in the review section I can sympathize with those who treated these like the classic 'Twinkies' and Hostess 'Cupcakes' that they are clearly modeled after (but for those with wheat/gluten sensitivity). Unfortunately, while this is clearly not 'health food' it is not fully fledged junk food either. The old joke goes that Twinkies are so 'unnatural' that they never go bad (it's not true, but "everybody knows" that). Having dealt with gluten free alternatives to popular (mostly junk food and deserts) I knew that they should be frozen right away. The packaged I got was already thawed out, and since I didn't plan to eat 20 snacks (two decades ago you could have dared me to, if this product had existed) I immediately put them into the freezer. Whenever I want on, I pop it out of the freezer and put it on the counter top for an hour or so and unwrap, eat, and it tastes just as wonderful as I remember. I will say that the taste of the 'vanilla' cakes.. the twinkie ripoffs (Twinky's or however you want to spell it are meant to be angel food cake with whipped cream filling, but they taste a little different, a very artificial taste that's hard to describe) are superior. When I was a kid and didn't know any better, I preferred these to the "chocolate" ones that always had a slightly off taste like really cheap baked goods (I was spoiled by homemade chocolate cake, brownies, etc). So it may be 'close enough.' The only one I didn't remember from the past was the 'vanilla' cupcake with the lemon filling (predictably self indulgent). You will pay a premium price for these, but for the memories, priceless... Definitely not health food, but as long as you don't let them spoil, you'll appreciate what you've been missing on special occasion(s). And brush your teeth...!

Expensive but tasty

Tastes great, but crazy expensive for the small amount of food you get. Also adding disappointment for the cream filling in cupcakes and twinkies. The cream was thick and almost dry. Nothing like regular snack cakes. The twinkies tasted better frozen than they did thawed out.

Mom likes to snack a lot, and it isn't easy to find gluten free options at the stores we have (we live in a smaller rural community). Mom says these are very tasty and she likes them a lot. Arrived quickly in the mail.

HEAVENLY, will purchase again.

I purchased these July 7th. I noticed a lot of negative feedback on this product. The instructions indicate to freeze upon arrival. Of course with two kids they didn't last long enough to freeze. However my experience is drastically different then many I see here. I live in the jot state of Arizona and we did put these on the cabinet after arrival. Info in package says it leaves facility frozen so that it arrives ready to eat (thawed). Instructions say Do Not Refrigerate...I'm sorry for those who had a terrible experience...I don't know how food is handled in other homes, I speak for myself when I say I had a HEAVENLY experience, I suffer from diverticulitis, I can only be thankful that I can whet my sweettooth with these yummy treats.

SO GOOD

I LOVE THESE. They’re SO GOOD. I haven’t had anything like this in over 10 years because of my allergies- so these were a game-changer! And they don’t ‘taste different’, they’re actually REALLY good! I almost didn’t buy them because of the negative reviews about them thawing out and all that. But I did it anyways and I’m glad I did. They did arrived thawed out but they refreezed just fine! It even says on the packing it’s SUPPOSED TO and it’s designed that way! Overall, I’m super happy and will be buying more. I don’t know which flavor is my favorite because they’re all delicious. Wish I had more!

100% worth every penny!

My 5 year old son is allergic to dairy and I all but gave up hope of finding snacks he can have that look and taste like his brother and sister's. I found this product and ordered $80 worth of product. It was HANDS DOWN the BEST $80 I have ever spent. These products taste almost identical to the originals that everyone knows and love. My son tried a "twinkie" first and almost cried out of happiness. I would 100% recommend these and any of Katz products 100% of the time. Also, even though it said they would be delivered in a week and a half I received them in 3 days! A+ for customer service also!
