After seeing a couple of the videos that came from this camera, I was very curious about its potential and made the purchase. I have used and owned a couple dozen cameras over the years; initially, I was very worried about the potential quality considering that this was not from the typical trusted Sony/Canon/Nikon/GoPro/etc brand names. I have had this camera for 2 months and have held off on writing a review until I could thoroughly use and test it. Initial Impressions: After day #1 I was truly blown away with the performance of this thing. Its ability to seamlessly stitch the two lenses and hide the selfie stick is incredible. Consistently surprised with the overall quality on playback (using 5.7 record mode). Not having to worry about where the camera is facing is a huge win while recording activities. The optical stabilization it performs is far better than what I was expecting and rivals other more expensive action cameras. While it has a number of different modes (timelapse/bullettime/photo) to use, I find that the hi-quality video mode is the most practical and is what I have used the most. Post processing and framing the shots later is the big winner overall here and will likely be the future in action sports video. Drawbacks/Cons: As has been noted by other reviewers, the *software* has been a little unpredictable and buggy. There have definitely been multiple times where the application crashes during workflow or export. It does appear to be getting better each month and I have never lost any data with the crashes, outside of a few minutes of time. The *battery* life/performance is weird and short -- a fully charged battery will typically only last me 15-25 minutes depending on use. Also, sometime I will fully charge the battery one day and 24-48 hours later it will be discharged even with no use?? Finally, it is a bit fragile with two lens, so keep that in mind depending on how you intend to use it. Overal, I would recommend this camera. With the correct expectations you will not be disappointed with this camera. This is for someone who wants to capture photo/video moments in 360 degrees. This camera is also for anyone that wants to capture action sports or activities and handle the framing and shots in post-processing. There are some soft cons as mentioned, but considering the software continues to improve and batteries can be replaced, these are not show stoppers.

The Insta360 One X is my third 360 camera in the last few years, and the best. I previously had the 360 Fly and Rylo. The Insta360 One X is the best of those 360 cameras now available in terms of small form factor, 5K by 30 fps video, slow motion, WiFi/Bluetooth support, Apple/Android app features, and desktop app. I've found it easy to use and have been amazed by the quality of the resulting 360 photos and videos. If there is any complaint it's not with the camera itself, but with the lack of coordination of features between the phone app and desktop app. It's possible to do some things on the phone app that can't be done on the desktop app, and vice versa. Not a deal killer and it'll be resolved, hopefully, later.

I heard about the Insta360 ONE X on one of the Electric UniCycle (EUC) I participate on, when I first saw an insane video of a rider using it. It was filmed with an impossible drone-like perspective and my first reaction was - how did you do that??? The rider explained me about invisible stick and all possible filming modes, then I started to investigate more about this camera, and found other nice features as 360 video, stabilization, 3k at 100fps (!!!), 4k, bullet time, and so on. It was enough to ditch my new GoPro 7 Black (I actually sold it just two months after buying) and go for this camera. I have been using it on my Ninebot One S2 rides all around Chicago - Lakefront, Loop, Millennium park, etc. I'm still learning with the cool app tutorials. Another great feature is the video editor provided inside the app, it is so easy and intuitive to create professional videos and share them in the Insta community, social networks or even keep them locally and show to your friends. The more I use this camera, the more I get in love for it. You don't have to think twice. This was my best bought product of 2019!

I believe the One x of the best 360 camera's on the market in it's price range. And while I don't have first hand knowledge of all of the camera's on the market. Video quality is very good and editing with the app is extremely easy. The only improvement I can think of is maybe better sound recording if that is important to you. Customer service I couldn't be happier with. As you can see in the pictures, I broke my camera. I sent my camera in to be fixed and they sent me a new camera as well as another Invisible selfie stick. If you read the warrantee details, that was going way above and beyond their guidelines to make their customers happy, so Lucy if you are reading this, thank you very much!!

Had for one month now and have not found anything I don't like about it when I consider everything that is packed into that case at that price. Solid build and feel in the hands, solid picture, incredible easy to use and powerful software, excellent tool. Love it. Frankly, I'm blown away. Its better than the competition in every way I need it to be and has accessory paths for expanding in ways that meet the needs of more specialized uses but keeps the cost down for those of us who don't need it all built in. I'm loving using it and am surprised how often I can use it as I begin to wrap my head around a whole new way of photography. I am giving four stars for picture quality because of the image degradation in zooming and especially in lower light situations. Its better than the competition I've seen, so its five stars in comparison, but still room for improvement moving forward. Four stars for battery life because it won't last for a half day of use without a charge or changing batteries. Again, better than the competition but room for improvement. Five starts for durability because it feels solid, doesn't slip from the hand, is designed to work easily with a soft case on it at all times when not in use. I can't vouch for rough use because I don't treat it like a toy but like a tool - the same way I treat my DSLR - in use or in case. Its five stars in comparison head to head with the competition at this time, but in the long haul, I'm fully expecting Insta to get even better in zoom quality and lower light situations. Thank you insta360 for such a great tool.

So, let’s start by my telling you that I just moved to the Insta360 One X from a relatively new Ricoh Theta V that I wasn’t unsatisfied with. While the Theta was good, it is a standard 360 camera, the software that comes with the Insta360 allows it to be so much more. Being able to take a 360 movie and then craft a standard movie afterwards, allows me to make sure I never miss the shot. This has not only replaced my Theta, but also my GoPro. The Motion stabilization was surprisingly great, and I now use the Insta360 wherever I would normally have used an action camera. My only criticism may get corrected over time. I find that the images and videos always need color correction afterwards. If you compare an up retouched image from the Insta360, and compare it to the Theta, the Theta will be better. However, with 30 seconds in editing software, they are roughly equivalent. This isn’t a big problem for me because I usually go through this step regardless of which camera I use. Also, while they have desktop editing software it is not as feature rich as their mobile version. This is unfortunate because 360 videos can be large, and they have to be stored on your mobile device to edit them. I typically don’t have 10Gb of free space on my phone, and would prefer not to be editing it on my cell phone screen. Please update the desktop app to be feature comparable to the mobile. I highly recommend this camera and can’t wait to see where they go next.

I needed a way to record a property I own that my girlfriend hasn't been able to get to yet. Static photos and even single focus video don't do the trick because it doesn't give any perspective. Knowing I needed a 360 degree camera I wasn't sure what to go with but after seeing some other footage on youtube I figured this was the one to go with. The image stabilization is outstanding, and the "invisible selfie stick" is pretty awesome as well. Definitely gives the illusion of a floating point of view. I'm still new to it and learning the settings. While the app is pretty decent, for speed of processing and uploading I do prefer to dump the footage to my mac and export/upload from there. The only annoyance, and not one with the camera is having to inject metadata into the video via a third party utility. If the insta360 studio could do that that would be swell. Either way, the form factor on this one is amazing, light weight. Selfie stick expands conveniently and quickly and is very light weight. The only thing I will say is look carrying an external power supply if you're taking any extended length videos. It'll do about 30 minutes of full blown 5k.

Best workflow out there! Now I actually use my 360 camera. I absolutely love this little camera. I had a madventure 360 before this ( also known as the misphere) and have used the GoPro Fusion and to me this is the best 360 camera out there today! The workflow is so much better and faster than all of the rest. After I shoot a video I can download it to my phone very quickly. On the GoPro or Madv this would take an eternity. Then after that I just reframe the video by playing it back and pointing the phone in the direction I want to see then export. It’s super simple and really lets me use the camera much more than the competitors because it’s faster. I do all of this on my old iPhone 7. I find the normal light image quality to be similar to my GoPro hero 7 as well as the stabilization ( which is excellent). I will say when you move the camera rapidly there can be some gitters in the playback sometimes ( hence the not 5 star stabilization rating) and the lowlight performance isn’t amazing ( none of these cameras are). The only thing I really don’t like about it is the fact that it’s not waterproof, you will have to buy a housing. I did ski with it without any housing and it was fine but rain or water I would avoid. But all in all it’s a fantastic tool and constantly amazes people and confuses them as to how you got your shot.
