Summary/Review: fairly quiet with the fan being the loudest noise it produces.. Much quieter than a typical box fan on low. The interior light is a nice touch and I assume it uses a magnet/reed switch to turn off. The chain cable stops the lid at about 130 degrees from closed. Interior walls get cold fast! Tested with full case of water bottles and quite impressed considering the power consumption. Being a top loading (king chest style) helps to maintain cooling while opening door. I don't know exactly what the ECO mode does. I suspect there might be a heater/defrosting component (see DC observations) that is disabled in ECO mode. This is NOT confirmed so don't take this as gospel! AC observations: * AC power brick shows up at between 14.5 and 14.8 volts on the fridge/freezer display. Description mentions 12/24V but have not tested above 14.8V in AC or DC modes. * AC power brick has a moderately low power factor (around 65%) and a peak VoltAmps around 110VA (line voltage 122.3V AC). VA is useful for UPS or inverter sizing when planning operating with included AC power brick. Recommend inverters with continuous "rating" of 100W or more (as they assume 90% or higher Power Factor). * AC Power consumption (with power factor included) varies but the 45W provided in product description is fairly accurate. The peak AC power (watts) can be slightly higher than 85W or as low as 60W while the compressor is active. Off duty will bring the average down. DC observations (using a bench power supply): * The voltage drop under load is slightly more than 1V (from bench display to fridge display). Cables in used are the mostly likely culprits. * Idle current varies VERY slightly from 0.05A (14.0V) up to 0.06A (12.5V). Bench and fridge display are same during idle. * Active current varies little with voltage, I was expecting the current to go up while voltage drops. Current remains fairly consistent with one exception (see next). * Initial load current is usually around 3.0-3.4 across low (12.4V) or high (13.6V) as reported on fridge display. That range can be typically expected under DC use. * After running for a while, current sometimes slowly rises up around 4.15A and then back down to around 3A (over a few minutes). I am guessing THIS is perhaps a "defrosting" heater wire someplace in the system!? It doesn't always do this which leads me to believe a heater wire (used in many home freezers). This WAS while temp set point was below freezing. * Tried to determine the voltage drop out (voltage protection) set points but have not had consistent tests. The "L" (low) voltage point might be as low as 10.0 volts but not sure. Recommend leaving on "H" High until you experience F1 fault (protection) and lowering to "M" medium only when necessary. I would avoid using "L" low unless you know what you are doing. Attached photos contain SOME of the results. Hopefully this helps others who are traveling, camping or perhaps off-grid and need to plan an accurate power budget! --Doug M

I bought this for my truck I am an over the road Driver and I am eating more heathy so this works great keeping everything Cold and also Quit enough I sleep have to cover LED display to darken it down. I just also bought the CF55 tonight for more food storage . I like my salads and fresh food I don't like eating out . also I have corresponded with Alpicool and they are awesome.

See update after 1 year at bottom. Great little unit for the money, seems to be very well built, impressed. Cools fast and will freeze whatever you put in it rock solid, even if what you put in is warm (although it will take a bit longer of course). Insulation is not bad, you can feel it cold to the touch on sides but not too bad Hidden settings! You can calibrate your thermostat, change car battery protection voltage, lowest/highest temp settings, soft start feature etc. I got this from customer service and added the Farenheit equivalents to the document. Overall, if the unit lasts, it's a stellar deal. Good product! Update after a full year of pretty intense use, and still going strong with no hiccups. if we are not using it on an adventure, then it is plugged in in my garage to 110 power and used as a back up freezer or fridge depending on our families grocery stock. I have to say I’m still impressed with this economical unit. Definitely not getting paid to write this, I just enjoy having something that works as it should.

My first fridge for my 2019 Taco. Honestly it isn't too bad. Had a bad smell for the first 24 hrs I had it running but it went away the next day. It kept everything cold/frozen for my short trip to Reno which was great. No worries about keeping stuff cold and having ice cream on those long trips is a plus. I But overall, it was a good investment and I cant wait for my next long drive or camping trip.

I bought this to be a substitute refrigerator for my RV (it has an old propane frig that never seems to want to work, so I converted it to a fancy cabinet). Pairing it with an extra battery and a simple inverter, it has proven to be reliable and energy efficient. It isn't obvious from the product description, but there' a small second compartment that holds things a little warmer, so I can keep a cold six pack there while setting the main section cold enough to keep food frozen. Highly recommend!

So far so good. After delivery I waited about 6 hours before plugging it in to let it settle, as indicated in the manual. I then plugged it in and set the temp to 30 degrees. It reached the desired setting in about 30 minutes starting from 85 degrees. Seems to work well. It's not noisy and the build quality seems to be good. Looking forward to using it on my upcoming road trip out west.

I bought this fridge for my minivan /camper vehicle The temps and accuracy are not that far off, I used a fluke meter with temp probe, it was off by 5* so I give it a plus or minus 5* when I set my temps. Next there was an issue with price and I contacted the company and they were great , resolved the issue and made a happy customer, which I am now going to be buying 2 more units. The led light inside is a nice bonus to have. I think I would like the lid to open as the 45 or 55 size does but this will do for now. ***************************************************************************************** UPDATE 5/14/20 This Alpicool 35 is great I have had this running 24/7 in my camper minivan in the desert of Arizona and no problems keeps everything cold . I set it for 34* and that seems to be the sweet spot for my use. Again this has not been unplugged since I bought this in August 2019 I bought this with my own money now with that said if Alpicool is listening , feel free to send me a dual zone . :)

After 4 months it still works great we have done hundreds of miles off road 4 wheeling with it (lots or rough trails) and it is still working great. When empty it only takes 20 minutes to bring it down to 30's and if loaded with 20 bottles of water it will take about 12 hours to bring the temperature down much like it would if you put them in a kitchen fridge. So common sense dictates to chill everything before putting it in there. The temp control is only off by a couple degrees so it is easy to set it where you want it. It is strapped in place by the handles and they have no problem holding the cooler in place while going off road. I would certainly buy this again.

We live aboard a 30' trawler and space is premium. Our original chest cooler that is built-in to the boat helm area was modified into a fridge freezer and stopped working. It became our main dry storage for food. We bought an ac/dc fridge that works but is not made for mobility and had problems keeping food fresh. This unit is our first workable solution. We allowed it to sit upright overnight on arrival so the fluids are settled before starting, refrigeration 101. It freezes to less than 12 deg quickly, quietly and reliably. We adjusted temperature to keep fresh dairy in the small compartment and freeze food in the large compartment. We will be buying a second to have one for a fridge and the second as a freezer. Totally portable, ac /dc, boat, camp, rv, disaster ready, off grid. Note: builds up ice quickly in a high humidity environment and needs defrosting. Defrost is easy as is cleaning.

I got this as part of a 12v solar fridge/power system in a van build. It fits perfectly between the front seats. It draws 25W running. With my 400wh power station and 120w solar panel. I never drop below 75% running the panels all day. It will run 36hrs with on a 400W Suaoki power station not charging (35f setting 74f room temperature). Running as a freezer it runs on the system fine. But will only go 20hrs on the 400w with no charge (74f room temperature). The little shelf area is perfect for a bag of salad or other items you only want cool.
