This was my first try with this agar-agar and it worked great! Follow the instructions and make sure the powder is 100% dissolved before adding the ingredients. There are many recipes online to get started, and the possibilities are endless. I made coconut rum mango layered dessert shots that were beautiful.

I bought this product in order to make my childhood’s favorite Russian pastry, zephyr. I was told that agar agar is a capricious product to work with, so I tried to stay away from it for as long as I could. Well, I made my first zephyr a week ago and it turned out perfect. In fact, it was a compete hit!!!!!! I can attribute my success to the two things: 1) quality of the product; 2) responsiveness of the seller. My recipe called for 8 grams of agar agar (900 strength) per 140 grams of water. So I reached out to the seller and received a response within a day. This particular agar agar has 700 strength per cm2. I eyeballed the adjustment. I put 12 grams of agar agar and it was just perfect. The pastry was melting in our mouths. Enjoy!

This is my first time trying Agar Agar and I'm so happy I did! The item came super fast, had great packaging and a cute note from the company. I immediately made vegan cheese with it that my non-vegan boyfriend loved. Next up is vegan gummy bears. My only regret is that I waited so long to get this stuff!

I have recently started a Keto diet for health reasons and many of the recipes I am now using call for a gelatin. I am finding that the animal based gelatins do not agree with me; so I was on a search for a different type of gelatin when I heard about Agar Agar, a plant based product (seaweed). I ordered it, and it arrived right on time with a nice note from the CEO of the company. I tried it out right away in a brownie recipe, and it worked great. They tasted fabulous! It is tasteless and odorless; and, therefore, doesn't interfere with the taste or smell of other ingredients. As with all gelatins, I recommend that you have all of your other ingredients ready to go as it sets quickly. I will definitely be using this product again and definitely from this seller.

Since changing my way of eating, I have been pure plant based since April and the one thing I can't live without, is my cashew cheese( being from Wisconsin, this was hard to give up) but since using your product and making a mean cashew cheese, I am once again smiling when I lay a slice of this creamy, cheesy cheese on my bean burger and your Agar Agar Powder makes this all come together! Thanks so much for a great much needed product! A cheese head (again) for sure!

I am so happy that I found this on Amazon! Agar powder is not only vegan but also safe for dogs. So.. it's perfect for low-calorie snacks! I use this powder instead of gelatin to make treats for both humans and dogs :) In my experience, 1 Tbsp for 6 oz of liquid makes a tight texture, while 1 teaspoon for the same amount of liquid results in jello-like texture. I made some jello shots with blueberry extract and vodka, strawberry jello, and some carrot & banana pudding to share with my dog. With the jello shot mold, I also made edible cups with some water, blueberry extract and agar powder so that I could hide health supplements my dog hates inside. He bought my trick 😂 I love that there are thousands ways of utilizing this powder to make wonderful treats! Highly recommended!

This is so perfect to firm up quick vegan cheese wheels in the kitchen. For a softer cheese wheel, use less agar and replace with arrowroot powder for a vegan cheese texture that is the equivalent to a chevre or cream cheese :) I also love this agar agar to make fruit and berry jams without having to use tons of sweeteners or pectin to thicken them. I recently used fresh blended blueberries, agar, vegetable glycerin, stevia, lemon peel, and salt and made a FABULOUS sugar free blueberry lemon jam that I'll continue to make. This is perfect for me as I am allergic to dairy, vegan cheese is expensive as hell, and I never liked the texture of jello or pudding. There's something really gross about it, but this is different but very similar. This agar is also great to use for making your own gummies too if you have molds. I've been using agar agar for years, and was buying tiny 4 oz boxes for $6 from the specialty Asian Market for 2 years. Silly me. Should have checked Amazon. I've already made so many vegan cheese wheels and saved sooooooo much money. I've done smoked almon cheese, dill+ carrot+celery almond cheese, whipped cashew cream for muffins with agar to thicken it, etc. It's a fabulous addition to the home chef's kitchen if you love to play and get creative. I keep mine sealed in an airtight canning jar in the fridge.

This stuff worked perfectly for my vegan gummy bears. The consistency is not the chewy like store bought so i might instead call them jellies. Though i watched the video for making it, the amount of 1 tbsp per cup juice is way too much. At that ratio they were almost crispy. I ended up using 1.5 tsp to 1 cup juice and they were about perfect and vegan child and adult approved. Note that to improve flavor boil down your bottle of juice to half its original volume....it concentrates the flavor. Otherwise they taste a little like le croix jellies. The price seemed a little high for the amount you get as it is cheaper if you can find it in a bulk store.

I've been using agar as a thickener for a couple of years. This is the first time I've used this brand, and I'm very pleased with it. The results are wonderful. I use it to thicken my homemade yogurt, puddings, homemade sauces and condiments. As advertised, one tsp to one cup of liquid gives a nice thickness without creating a 'blubbery' consistency. I cook and bake Paleo/Primal and Keto so this is a fabulous addition to my kitchen. I've purchased other brands that have had a slight 'gamey' odor and taste. This has none. It's virtually tasteless and odorless. I can add it to anything without affecting the taste. It's a keeper. Love it!

I used to use quite a lot of this product back in my Macrobiotic days. I even made hairspray with it (distilled water, grain alcohol, and dissolved agar gel). Worked wonderfully and no toxic ingredients. Recently I found that my favorite and formerly non-toxic hairspray had changed ingredients and now contained stuff I just will not use... So, once again I am making my own, thanks to the agar. I have also had to give up dairy products, and being a cheese lover, I looked up vegan recipes for making my own "cheeses". Many of them call for carageenan - another carcinogen - but some called for agar instead, so i am going to give this a try. Beyond that I already know I love gelling fresh juices into a healthy "jello" dessert - that's a real treat! I am so happy to have found this product again, and I will be back for more :-)
