Let me just say I love this thing. It's my go-to tool for lots of professional events including video conferences and presentations. I also use it to view media for fun. The long and short of it is that, yes this does send 4k video from a usb-c port. I tested it in an Asus chromebook flip c302 and it's awesome. The power delivery tops out at about 18w while you are using it to send video, so don't expect to fill your battery. It should keep you from running out though. Have not yet tested it on macbook, but i expect it to work well there too.

I picked this up for half the cost of my previous hub with the same functionality. The biggest difference is presentation. This hub looks real slick and comes with a carry pouch that I really enjoy. Would recommend, especially with a coupon!

Everything worked for my needs.

Bought to use with my Lenovo Think Pad. Greatly expands the usefulness of the laptop, considering the lack of USB ports on the laptop itself. Easy to use and enables me to "hookup" a lot of various other peripheral devices with ease.

I work from a 12” MacBook but recently bought a 34” Dell ultrawide monitor and needed a reliable adapter that could connect the MacBook’s USB-C port to the monitor’s HDMI input and also provide passthrough charging since the 12” MacBook only has one port. I was dismayed after reading reviews of several seemingly promising solutions including OWC’s travel/dedicated docks and other major brands. I also didn’t want to go with a Totu, Vava or similar offering as those all seem to basically be rebrands of the same hardware. I trust Anker, having bought a couple battery packs, wireless chargers and charging cables of theirs a couple years ago, all of which are still working well so despite the lack of reviews I decided to take a chance and I have not regretted it. I keep my keyboard and trackpad plugged into the two USB ports it offers as well as the HDMI out to the monitor. I now leave the laptop connected in this configuration 99% of the time but when I do need to disconnect it for whatever reason it reconnects seamlessly (unless I just disconnect the power cable, more on that below). The only issue I’ve encountered is, if you have a USB-C cable plugged into the hub’s USB-C passthrough port to provide power to the MacBook and then unplug that power cable it disconnects the laptop from the monitor despite the fact the hub is completely capable of functioning without that external power. To fix this I have to unplug and replug the hub into the MacBooks USB-C port, it will then reconnect and function without the power cable. Not a huge deal but something to be aware of. I would like to see a metal version at some point so the enclosure could act as a heatsink but I wouldn’t say that’s a negative since for the most part it already stays fairly cool while also charging my laptop at full speed. Overall I highly recommend this hub for travel or even as a dedicated dock as I’m using it.

My computer is a 2017 Macbook 12'', which has only one usb-c port for all kinds of stuff. It's a pain in the ass to stop charging and connect my keyboard to program. (I need external keyboard because the build-in one of macbook is too bad for my typing habit). Before this one, I have tried several other usb-c adapter before, there were all kinds of issues about them. Some doesn't charge, while others loss connection to HDMI occasionally. This one is actually the first one I have that works perfectly. I bring it to school every day and some time I use it to connect my laptop to the monitors provided by the school. I keep both my keyboard's and mouse's receivers on it and when I get home, I simply connect the usb-c cable and HDMI cable to continue my projects. The only issue is from my laptop, the charger is only 29w and the adapter needs 13w to operate, so the charing speed on my laptop is relatively slow, but acceptable. I am also planning to buy a 60w charger later to solve this. The first review I write, wish it helps.

I bought this USB C hub to connect to my new iPad Pro 2018. It works well at providing an HDMI output to display the iPad screen on a TV. It works well at providing a recharge pass thorough to the iPad, when connected to a separate power adapter, not included. It provides USB A 3.0 ports, BUT you cannot read or write data between the iPad Pro and thumb drives. This is a limitation controlled by Apple, not a shortcoming of this device. A good unit otherwise.

I purchased this unit for my Google pixelbook since I am always on the road and need a second display when I'm home. This adapter is easy to carry (especially with the included carrying pouch), but still fully functional. USB-c has allot of plusses, and if you have a laptop with this port, till definitely make good use of it with this adapter.

Works as expected and does everything and then one USB that the Apple version does at about half the price.

Great addition to my Chromebook. HDMI out is the best part. Passthrough charging helps a lot as well.
