LIFE SAVER!

I live in the mountains and there are a lot of bears in the area, these motion detectors literally keep me safe! they warn me when there are bears on my property and where they are! I have 3 detectors and cover all my 1 acre property, they have excellent range and sensitivity, will pick up flying bugs at 2ft. and bears and elk at 150ft! size determines detection distance. my detectors are backed up by video camera's so I can monitor what's going on, the detectors are solar powered with good battery life, the receiver has battery backup which is a good feature if you have a power outage. so I would highly recommend these to anyone who needs a good detection system!

Turn sensor 45 degrees away from incoming traffic.

The Hosmart customer service and technical support are great. Once we received the sensor and set it up properly, angled 45 degrees away from incoming traffic, the system worked perfect every time. We got the upgraded unit with the solar panel but as you can see the trees are blocking the sunlight. We were told by tech support that the sensor rechargeable lithium ion battery will remain charged for up to six months regardless. We recommend this driveway sensor especially because of the great customer and technical support. The tech support rep recommended two sensors side by side to reduce the number of false alarms but we felt that many in the first place so we opted for just the one sensor. The ringer tone is not that over powering but just enough to catch your attention even in the farthest corners of the house which includes upstairs. Last year the previous model Hosmart driveway sensor failed on us after about a year of service. When we sent a note through Amazon regarding the situation Hosmart was quick to respond and offer discounts on the new and improved version which we promptly purchased. The sensor unit comes fully charged and it’s easy to check the charge by plugging it in watch for the blue sensor light to flash. It’s not recommended that you install batteries in the base station while powering the unit from a wall outlet. They are not rechargeable batteries and are only considered stand alone back-up batteries. The tech rep also recommends plugging the unit into a UPS power source in case the power goes out. INTRUDER BACKED OFF when he heard the MUSIC ALARM of this1/2Mile MOTION SENSOR!

NOTES: 1. You need to watch this vdo from our security camera taken a day ago, JULY 25, 2020 at 03:17 AM, Friday- to see how effective this motion sensor is! 2. And please TURN ON THE VOLUME of your smart phone/pc, ipad to the loudest setting to hear how the sound of the motion sensor prompted the intruder to back off! SUMMARY: 1. This is the second intruder that got into our fire escape this week so it was pretty scary when the music alarm of our motion sensor went on again. This intruder was canvasing our veranda. But since the door in our domicile was partially happen, he was able to hear the sound alarm and that scared him off! 2. My husband ordered a second motion sensor immediately after this incident happened. The order arrived fast and was delivered today, JULY 25, 2020. By noon time, my husband installed it in another angle of our veranda. 3. My husband will order a second receiver to be placed in our veranda so the would-be-intruder could hear its loud musical alarm! We decided to have a second one for the intruder's ears and the first one, for our own alert, indoor. I highly recommend this gadget for its powerful make up, functionality and industrial design.

So far we are very pleased!

After a couple delivery guys frightened my wife by tapping on the kitchen door at our new rural home, I knew I had to do something. So, after looking at all the options and not wishing to change batteries, I opted for this solar-powered unit. It was a few dollars more, but it seems to be a well-designed unit. And, no changing dead batteries! I had it up and running in minutes. I used the included stainless steel screws to attach it to a utility pole near our driveway. The device is pointed across the clearing of about forty feet where our driveway comes onto the property. I had to set it on high to read across that entire distance. The device is probably no more than 150 feet from the receiver, which I put out-of-sight on to of a kitchen cabinet in the house. It works perfectly. It has already detected my wife walking out the driveway to check our mailbox. It has also detected a car coming and going as well as my neighbor coming and going on his tractor. We'll see how long it holds up, but right now I am very pleased with this purchase. I am planning to buy another detector to put near my machine shed and another receiver for in my workshop. UPDATE: 9/26/19: I order another receiver to put in my shop building. The receiver in the house does a great job alerting us when someone enters the driveway out at the road. But, I also wanted to be alerted when I am out at my shop building, which is farther away. The second receiver in the shop building works great too! Again, we are very pleased!

Excellent quality and workmanship

I received this three days ago and waited until I had the opportunity to validate the quality of this unit. I have purchased Hosmart systems in the past and have been extremely happy with the quality, workmanship, and price of their products; therefore, I decided to purchase this wireless motion sensor & detector. I have purchased systems similar to the Hosmart one and have not been pleased with the results. First of all, they were all powered by some sort of battery (AA, C & 9V). As you would expect this could be costly. As a matter of fact, after a short period of time, I just went without one. With the success of the other Hosmart items I have purchased I decided to go with this - and I am glad that I did. As with the other items from Hosmart, this alarm is quality built. It was very easy to set up and operate. The outside unit is solar powered and the inside unit is both battery (for backup) and AC. There are 4 different settings for sound notification and the volume can be controlled. Also, the unit is set up where you can add other outdoor sensors. Though we live in a suburban neighborhood my wife and I were able to test this unit by pointing the sensor up the street from our home (about 1/3 of a mile) to see if the alarm would go off - it did - loud and clear. Our home sits on a corner lot and the garage is on the side of the home vs in front. The main purpose of purchasing this alarm was to provide an additional layer of safety to the current video system. I am very pleased.

A prepper must have

Read the entire review. This product is great. I was searching for a motion sensor to let me know if a vehicle or person steps in my yard to give me a heads up/ warning that someone is outside. It took me less than 5 minutes to have it up and running. I haven’t received any false alarms from the wind or a tree branch. It’s built sturdy and easy to use. This was an addition to go along with my security cameras. Instead of me glancing at my cameras all the time I can now relax and if the driveway alarm goes off then I look at my cameras to see what’s going on. I will definitely be buying another one or two. I think the price is fair compared to its competitors. Revised review! I ordered two more and they are all working great together. I have them on different sounds so I know exactly which one was set off. A must have to give you a warning something or someone is around your house.

Long range system, easily set up in minutes

Ordered second system for our property. Our house is over 900’ and uphill from road. When vehicle or person enters driveway we are instantly alerted. Highly recommend

Second unit added at another property

After the good experience with the first unit. I purchased and have now installed a second unit for another gift. I recently installed this one -- and easily had it up and function in a few minutes. The sensor on this installation is nearly a quarter mile from the house, and behind a dense grove of trees. Despite the distance and obstruction, the unit reliably signals any passing traffic. I expect, with the solar charging active, that we'll receive on-going alerts whenever anyone enters the property. Additionally, the vendor has been very cooperative and supportive on any questions or need.

No Regrets!

This product is performing as described. We have the receivers inside a metal building and there doesn’t appear to be any problem with getting the signal from the sensor mounted on the drive. Customer service is top notch and even answered my call on a Sunday. Very pleased with this purchase after 1 weeks use.

Much better than the older version

I bought this as a replacement to an older version. So far this works well and appears to be much higher quality. The unit was quick and easy to set up and the different zones are helpful with different alert sounds so you know what’s zone has been triggered if you’re trying to cover multiple areas.
