Dogs have been eating for years
My dogs have been eating this brand for years. They have fantastic coats and great poops. Got my senior Border Collie back from an abusive family member. She was severely underweight and malnourished and had no more than a few months left for sure. She was a poster child for animal abuse. She had bald callous spots on her back from the malnutrition. She ate rice and cabbage for years with little to no kibble. She couldn’t get up on the couch and she had a difficult time standing. She was in rough shape. She kinda just sat around and napped. After 3 months of eating this, her coat came back superb. It’s super shiny and all her bald spots that I thought were permanently damaged, were cleared up and full of fur. She’s able to be more athletic and likes to play sometimes. I really do believe diet is a big part of all living things, and even though this dog food is more pricy compared to other brands, I feel it’s worth it due to the ingredients. I feed my Pomeranian this as well. The kibble is a little larger than I would like it to be for him but as he’s been eating this for years and he hasn’t had a problem with it being too big. I have tested buying small dog kibble and he eats it the same. Both of the dogs have had good health being on this brand. They have never once had diarrhea or any vomiting spells. I have never seen a recall on this brand. I also feed this brand to my cat with great results.

Everyone loves Taste of the Wild!
My wife and I were looking for a dog food that was natural without a lot of fillers. After reading quite a few reviews on multiple websites, we decided to try Taste of the Wild. We feed three dogs, a tiny chihuahua/dachshund/Jack Russell mix, a dachshund, and a boxer. We had been feeding the small dogs different food, but since the boxer is more of a grazer and the small dogs kept trying to eat his food, we decided to try feeding them all the same. So, all three got a Taste of the Wild. They loved it. The pieces weren't too big for our 5 lb. yappy dog and not too hard for her poor teeth (she's a bit old and her teeth are not the greatest anymore). Not to say that the food is soft in the least, just not too hard. Also, the kibble wasn't too big for her. Even our grazing boxer ate it up quickly. Now we saw that they'd eat it, we wanted to see if it was good for them. I'd say it was. The aging small dogs were sprier than previously and in turn were more active. The boxer is always active but his coat remained shiny and he seems just as healthy. Mind you, we weren't feeding the dogs sub-par food before. We were feeding them a great name-brand food that also does not contain a lot of fillers. The reviews we read for that food wasn't bad, but not as glowing as Taste of the Wild. We also have a friend who feeds her dog TotW and swears by it. This is the reason we tried it. Another plus is that when we switch dog foods, the dogs typically get gassier than usual and we have to endure a two-week transition period. We've combated that by mixing the foods, but it usually only lessens the problem. There was no such problem with Taste of the Wild. As a matter of fact, it seemed the flatulence decreased while they were on the food. That is a very welcome plus for where our boxer is concerned. As a side note, the dogs weren't the only ones impressed by the food. Our cats also wanted to get a Taste of the Wild. We put out the dogs' food bowls before they can get to them. Normally, this isn't an issue and when we let the dogs in, they go straight to their respective bowls. Well, we were noticing that before we could let the dogs in the cats were expressing their curiosity about the food by stealing kernels of food from the dishes. They actually ate some. That's something the cats hadn't done before. We figured they were attracted by the salmon. The dogs love salmon and we were feeding them salmon based food previously. The cats had sniffed the other food, but were never inclined to steal it. So, in my experience, Taste of the Wild lives up to the hype. We intend on trying other flavors soon since our boxer gets bored of eating the same food if he eats it too often.

The same as Tractor Supply
I have been ordering this particular bag all year long while deployed so my parents, who are watching my doggo, won't have to go to the store and do any more work than necessary considering they took him in without hesitation and don't expect any form of payment for it. Anyways, after a lot of skepticism after reading reviews about how this store bought is a better than ordering from amazon and etc. How it made people's dogs sick. I had my parents watch out for any variation in color or texture and it came looking the same as my normal food and he has eaten it without any problems whatsoever. I truly believe that sometimes there's just gonna be bad batches, and even with speaking to store clerks at Tractor Supply, they have had customers return dog food to them for being a bad batch. It happens, I wouldn't pass up the opportunity and ease of this service for some reviews. The best quality I want for my pup is exactly what I got out of every order that I have received.

Great brand of dog food, our dogs eat the lamb and salmon, both chicken free, and love it.
I have been getting the lamb version for a while now and my dogs love it. I accidentally purchased the salmon and I was afraid they’d not like it compared to the lamb. Nope, they loved it too. I’m not even sure they knew it was a different flavor. This brand is a good brand, I even talked to them when I was originally buy it because I wanted to ensure it had zero chicken...both this and the lamb are chicken free. I also found out its a family owned company that makes this, always partial towards family owned businesses as they geniunely try the hardest in customer satisfaction.

I cant even express how happy i am that i switched my dog to this ...
I cant even express how happy i am that i switched my dog to this food! I have a 2 y/o Irish Setter and had been feeding him a Costco brand food. Since changing to this product within days i noticed a difference in the amount of poop i was picking up.. Now that he has been on it for two or more months, he poops twice a day vs. 6-7 times a day, like he did when using the Costco brand (I am NOT exaggerating). His coat is shinier than it has ever been and his dry skin has drastically improved, I am optimistic it will continue to improve after extended use. The price may scare people off at first, as it almost did me, but you will instantly see you don't have to feed your dog near as much as the cheap stuff. Two of my friends that both feed this product to their dogs (kids) convinced me to give it a try and i am SOO glad they did. I am feeding my dog half the amount i was when using the grainy Costco brand. With that said, the cost is basically the same, given the fact that I feed him way less. I used to allow my dog to graze because he would just pick at his food, now he gobbles it right down. The quality of the grainy brands with filler don't even begin to compare. I feel horrible for not feeding this to my dog all along. If you aren't feeding your dog a quality product such as this one, without fillers and all the added "crap", you should change immediately if not sooner, you will be so glad you did for so many reasons.

Excellent quality grain-free food at a good price
I've done hours and hours of homework on high quality, grain-free dog foods. From product analysis, kcal analysis, ingredients, customer reviews, professional reviews, company recalls - all of it... I have become a mini-expert in the field. I was pushed into becoming an expert because my yellow Lab kept having seizures and I couldn't figure out the source. I finally learned it was her food, which was the most expensive store bought brand my local Sams Warehouse carries. I thought I was giving her the best, it looked fresh and rich, but it turns out it was just absolutely terrible food. My black Lab also had terrible skin allergies, to the point where I would get a small rash on my skin if he laid next to me on the couch for more than 5 minutes at a time. I had no clue it was because of the food. But it was! Since having that epiphany and learning so much about dog food, I've always made sure to feed them the highest quality grain free food I can buy. This Taste of the Wild (TOTW) fits the bill very nicely, and they love it. Since switching to a grain free diet, the yellow lab has not had any more seizures in over a year, and the black lab has the silkiest coat you've ever seen and his skin allergies are completely gone. They are on 2/3rds dry and 1/3rd wet combination. Contrary to what I had previously been raised to believe, a wet diet is not bad for dogs but in fact is superior! I use the combination to save money while providing them the best I can. Before deciding on TOTW, I had also tried Blue Buffalo, Wellness Core, and Orijen. Briefly: they are all good foods, but my labs were happiest on TOTW and my wallet is also happiest on TOTW. I also believe TOTW has a better formulation for them and their life style (some of the products, like Orijen, are simply too rich for the average household dog, despite being made of the best ingredients available). Enter TOTW. The dry food is dark and rich, with no sign of crumbling. The kibble is a good average size. The wet food has nice chunks of meat and the right amount of gravy. I use the wet food as a topper to mix the 2/3rd dry and 1/3rd wet together for their meals. I use one whole can of wet per meal with my pack, which is convinient so I don't have to store it in the refrigerator - btw, never store canned dog food in the fridge in the original aluminum container! I still wish I could find a less expensive product with the same quality, but in the mean time, TOTW is the best choice for my pack.

We are very happy with this food
We adopted a dog from a high-kill shelter recently that had been rescueed and fostered briefly, a mix of retriever and aussie shepherd, about 60 lbs and 1.5 years old. She was a stray and we do not have any idea of the quality of her diet since she was a pup. The foster mom told us she had a sensitive stomach and she was right. We tried various brands including Merrick, Orijen, and other high quality foods. While she ate well at times, her stools were often runny and sometimes she would not eat her food for over a day. We consulted with vet but no obvious problems or allergies. We switched to TOTW Pacific after about a month of experimenting and immediately her appetite picked up; she'd eat the food we put out for her right away. Within 3-4 days, her stools firmed up and have been consistent and of the right firmness 100% of the time since the switch to TOTW. Her coat is smooth and shiny and she is very energetic. We are (and Carmen is!) very happy with this food.

this is the best grain free no crap dry dog food for the ...
If we can ever go totally raw, we will, because that is how dogs are supposed to eat. In the meantime, this is the best grain free no crap dry dog food for the money, period. We've had our 55 pound doberman mix on this for 4+ years and the only time we ever saw problems with her digestion/coat, etc. is when we stupidly decided to try a different (more expensive) brand. The price has gone up since we first started buying it but not by much and it's still by far the best value for an incredibly high quality food. We've never used anything but the salmon (pacific stream) because we want her to get her omega 3's in addition to quality protein. For those of you who think going grain free/high quality is too expensive, just wait and see how much you have to pay in vet bills when your already sick dog who is eating weird stuff he/she is not supposed to be eating (google evolutionary nutrition for dogs, and people while you're at it if you want to eat properly too [PALEO]) gets even sicker with age with all kinds of diseases caused by the crappy food you made them eat. Trust me, it's worth it.

A taste of the wild
This is one of several dry food formulations offered by Taste of the Wild and this variety meets the AAFCO nutrient profiles for adult maintenance. AAFCO is an acronym for the Association of American Feed Control Officials. AAFCO is a non-profit organization that sets standards for both animal feeds and pet foods in the United States. It also received the second highest rating of four out of five stars from Dog Food Adviser (see their web site for details). My Labradane loves this and I feel good about feeding it to him. I usually buy this brand of dog food in the 30lb bag size but I find this 5lb bag and convenience of ordering through Amazon great for travel. I recently went on a road trip with my "man's best friend" and had a few bags of this shipped to my destination address so I wouldn't have to look for it locally and wouldn't have to sacrifice cargo space by bringing it along. I paid $10.99 here on Amazon for this 5 lb bag in October of 2014. Shipping was free. This is a great product and one I highly recommend.

No more gassy and itchy pups!
I switched both my Siberian husky and my walker coonhound/yellow lab mix to this food back in March. What a difference it has made! The husky has such a sensitive stomach and was gassy, all the time!!, while the coonhound always seemed to be really itchy! Since the switch, we haven't experienced either problems! Not only is the husky's stomach problem under control, but his coat is so much more smooth and shiny and our coonhound has no more itchy skin! Definitely one of the best decisions I've made! My pups are so much happier and healthier, now!
