Excellent thermal gun with emissivity control at a good price
What makes this thermal gun such a good deal is the ability to set the emissivity of the target. I have one thermal gun made by FLIR which does this but it cost over $4000. The only disadvantage of this gun is lower accuracy, which I measured to be ± 3 %, based on the FLIR gun, which has a ±0.5% accuracy. I set the emissivities of both guns using the table provided below. This gun also has a surprisingly good temperature range for the price. For the money, this is the best thermal gun you can buy on Amazon. The color display is informative and easy to read. The free meat thermometer is surprisingly accurate and works well. Although the manual includes a small table of emissivities, it is far from complete. The following values are collected from the thermoworks.com web site. I also include a picture of the table in the hopes it is readable or can be copied and printed. Easy to use and display very visable in bright lit sunny days or Frost laden Freezer
Infrared Non Contact Digital laser Temperature Gun is very accurate in measuring Hot and Cold from near or far object as much as 20 Feet away Color Display also very help full when using outdoors in sunny weather making it very easy to read the display . Also sound emitting from Temperature gun once reading is completed is very helpful

Husband's seal of approval.
My husband used a similar product when he worked around boilers so I asked him to test this product and to tell me what he thought. He explained that the Infrared Thermometer is used to read temperatures. This one is much smaller than the one he used at work but he was very pleased with its performance. Point the gun shaped tool and pull the trigger for a digital reading. The battery is located in the handle. The handle has a texture for a firm grip. The display is easy to see/read. The emissivity's setting is adjustable.

An Amazingly Handy Little Gadget
I’ve been interested in getting an IR thermometer for years, ever since I watched an Airframe & Powerplant mechanic use one to measure cylinder head temperatures on a radial aircraft engine at an aviation museum. When I recently had an air conditioning system installed in my home, the installer used one to measure the temperature of the air at the ducts, which solidified my interest. So the timing was exquisite when this Sovarcate Infrared Thermometer Non-Contact Digital Laser Temperature Gun hit my Vine queue. I snapped it up in a hurry. And I’m extremely satisfied with it. It’s a lot smaller, lighter and more compact than I expected based on the others that I’ve seen in action. That’s probably because it’s a consumer-grade device, not professional-grade. But that’s fine, because it seems sturdy and well-enough made for everyday home use. The trigger and the three tiny buttons on the back operate with firm authority. The handle, which incorporates a swing-open battery door, is slightly rough-textured to assure a firm grip. The LCD display is relatively large, colorful and very sharp, although the meanings of some of the icons aren’t obvious at first glance and may require a perusal of the instruction manual to grok in fullness. The manual is fairly typical of the current translated-from-Chinese crop; it’s not in good English, but it is mostly comprehensible. Of special interest is an emissivity table for common materials that you can use in conjunction with the unit’s adjustable emissivity setting to get more accurate temperature measurements. As to accuracy—well, I don’t have any real ground-truth numbers to compare the readings to, but they generally fall within the range that I would expect, especially when I measured matte surfaces such as carpeting, furniture and wood. The readings that I took inside my refrigerator and freezer seemed vastly off, but perhaps I was measuring at the wrong points and/or with the wrong emissivity setting. So my bottom line is that this is an extremely handy little gadget that I expect to use often in the future even after the novelty has worn off—and I can’t make that statement about many other modern tech devices.

Easy to use
I got this for my husband. He bought a cheap one from harbor freight a couple of years ago and this one seemed nicer and comes with an additional bonus digital food thermometer. It also includes batteries so you have everything you need to get started is included. It came in frustration-free packaging. The laser temperature gun is sandwiched between clear vacuum formed plastic. It’s resealable which is great because there is no carry case and the packaging has a slot for hanging so you can hang it up on a hook for storage when you’re not using it. The thermometer gun looks and feels well made with hard orange/yellow plastic parts and hard but slightly rubberized black parts that are quite grippy. The handle is largish and big enough to fit a man’s larger hand though I too can hold it comfortably. Controls are simple, there is the main trigger and three buttons under the display for changing the settings. The display is about one inch square. The graphics are large and easy to read. The display is bright and easy to read even in bright lights because of the black background with white lettering. The buttons under the screen let you switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit. The right button toggles the laser on and off. Thanks to the color display, it’s easy to see when it is on because there is a bright red warning laser triangle on the top right. This is useful because pointing it at people or pets can be dangerous if the laser hits their eyes. The EMS button in the middle lets you adjust the emission settings. When you press it, it shows you the current emissive sensitivity setting instead of the temperature, which you can adjust. Our old temperature gun did not have this feature. In Use My husband mostly uses the temperature gun. He tinkers with hobby grade radio controlled vehicles that have powerful brushless AC motors and high current temperature sensitive LiPO batteries. If you run the vehicles too hard, the motors can get very hot and break down if they overheat while the batteries get hot when the motors draw several amps of power. The motors and batteries are usually buried inside the chassis. This makes it awkward to take temperature readings with a normal thermometer since, by the time you have opened them up, would have cooled down significantly. With the temp gun you can aim through gaps in the vehicle chassis and get an accurate reading almost instantly. When batteries and motors and electronics can cost $100’s to replace, being able to monitor their performance and temperature is very useful. The bonusfood thermometer is the kind where you have a thin metal stake with digital display and a few buttons in the housing at the top. You basically stick it in your food or beverage and can read the temp on the display. It’s also handy for troubleshooting your AC car since it’s a lot nicer than the cheap analog dial ones that come with refill kits. Conclusion This thermometer costs a few dollars more than the cheaper ones from places like Harbor Freight but the build quality and convenience of a much easier-to-read display in both light and dark environments. It has more flexibility and the emissivity adjustment that allows more accurate readings makes it worth the extra money. Accuracy seems very good though like all these non contact temperature guns the closer you take the reading the more accurate it is. It works great and my husband really likes it.

Perfect pair.
When I first got this I opened the box, read the directions and started to play around with it. Every thing I pointed to was as expected till I got one spot near an electric outlet that was way hotter. There was a short and the spot was smoldering. Our house was built in 1880 & it would have gone up really quickly. This thermometer saved our house. I go to a water aerobics class where the management swears they keep the water at 86°. This immediately told me that the water was in fact 78°. The meat thermometer reads the temperature very quickly and accurately, letting me cook my roast to perfection. I've never used a meat thermometer before but won't cook without one again. The units themselves seem to be well made and easy to understand and use. I'm really happy with these thermometers.
