Easy to install in tight space

I bought this replacement anode rod because I have about 18” of space above my hot water heater. My hot water heater is gas. The old anode screw was rusted. I used my impact gun to break it free. Had to cut the old solid rod to get it out. Installation was easy. Wrap Teflon tape around the threads and tighten. The only challenge came from the links having been folded up for so long that the screw was tilted at a slight angle. Took a few attempts, by hand, to get the threads to line up. It wanted to cross thread at first. Tighten down with my breaker bar and a piece of 40” cheater pipe.

Fits perfectly, easy install.

I was able to replace what was left of the original rod in a few minutes. It is nice being able to replace the rod with the water heater in place. It makes replacement a quick, handyman job.

Economical replacement anode rod that I needed to be segmented in order to be able to install it under a low ceiling. The old one was long gone. Hoping to get a few more years life out of the water heater.

Worked as Advertised - Functional

Convenient when you do not have enough overhead clearance. Went with Magnesium hopefully avoiding health issues associated with Aluminums. Pretty Basic.
