We have a problem with no-see-um gnats that bite ! They are in our screen porch and we cannot keep them out since they are small enough to enter thru the screen. It is a maddening situation as the bites are worse from this gnat than a mosquito ! We bought this device and so far catching some in the glue trap at the bottom of the unit. We keep this machine going throughout the day, although the blue light is fairly subdued so not many gnats are caught until it gets darker. On some nights we use this in our bedroom to catch any stray gnats or mosquitoes that have gotten into the house. I was worried about the noise from this product but it is actually very quiet, especially on the lower setting. We also found that it works better when placed near a night light as it attracts the bugs even more. It is a tough call in keeping the trap running over night in the porch as it may attract more gnats inside the screen who are drawn to the light but we will keep experimenting. So far at least we are finding a dozen or more gnats each day in the glue. Price for this product seems fair given the success so far.

This item was exactly as described. I was pleasantly surprised/disgusted how well this thing actually worked. I had a problem with soil gnats in my house plants and this device caught more than I even realized there were. I believe the problem has been cleared but I will continue to run this machine as a precaution. I had a plug in stick UV trap (with no fan that I was using while waiting for this to arrive). Although I was confident the cheaper version got them all in the 3-4 days I had it plugged in, I plugged in the Katchy machine as well and the number of gnats caught was more than double the other unit in the first 24 hours. This machine works- and fast.

From time to time a mosquito gets into my bedroom. I hate hearing the high-pitched whine of a mosquito flying past my ear. Afterward I have difficultly falling back asleep--BECAUSE I KNOW IT'S OUT THERE. The KATCHY Indoor Insect Trap quietly does its job. I leave it running 24/7. The KATCHY has a fan that pulls airborne insects into it's interior where they eventually come in contact with--and stick to--an adhesive trap located in its base. The fan has two speeds. I keep the fan on the higher speed. It's a good idea to leave the bedroom's lights off as much as practical so that the KATCHY's light--which works as a lure for certain insects--draws the pests in. Of course mosquitoes are not particularly attracted to light--they're attracted to CO2 and body heat--but, because mosquitoes fly in a random course in search of a host they will--in due time-- will eventually blunder into the KATCHY and be removed as a concern.

My wife has a lot of plants. For a very long time now, working at my PC during the late hours, these little bugs would show up. I would kill one, and it seemed a replacement would instantly take its place. Working from home during this pandemic has had these things in my face (and occasionally a nostril) enough times to drive a person crazy. This also led me to wonder how many of these things are there in my house? Now, I did order some sticky traps for the plants themselves at the same time, but I picked this up specifically for my room. Last night was the first night in weeks I did not see a bug, and it also was the first night I had a Katchy sitting guard next to my desk. This morning I opened it up and saw about 20 of these pests stuck to the bottom. Absolutely delightful.

Okay let me just start off by saying, I am not being paid or otherwise to post this review and I don't usually review purchases I make off of Amazon. With that said, this machine works amazing and is simple to use. My problem was with indoor mosquitos. I live in TX and I would wake up every day with dozens of bites all over my legs and feet where they stick out of the covers. (I'm 6'5") It was getting so bad that I became completely scarred up and constantly itching and swollen. I don't know why mosquitos are so weirdly attracted to me but it's awful and I couldn't take it anymore. I was skeptical because I know mosquitos aren't GENERALLY attracted to light like other flying pests are but in less than two days my house was free of mosquitos and even caught 3 giant flies that my cat couldn't even catch! This thing does it all. My only complaint is that if you have it in your room, it can be a bit bright but there are two settings and that helps a lot. Totally minor. This has changed my life and I'm no longer dousing myself in bug spray every night just to be able to sleep. Pictures are from after a week of night time usage!!

I live in Florida, bug capital of the US. This works for the particular moth I had an infestation of (Greater wax moth, they are attracted to bee hives). I was told incorrectly that I had a beetle infestation and needed to tent. Luckily I got a second opinion. I got triangular moth traps and 4 Katchys for a 2500 square foot house, and cleaned the house/vacuumed thoroughly ever week and within a few weeks the issue was almost completely handled. Now I’m seeing very few moths. So for my particular situation the Katchy saved me THOUSANDS of dollars! (The cost of tenting and having movers remove foam mattresses, moving out of my house for several days, etc.) I wanted to use the Katchys for a while before giving a review and 4 months later I am still seeing mosquitos, gnats, and misc tiny bugs. I also love the customer service. 3 months in one of the Katchy’s had a light go out and they replaced it. Because of this I’m going to order a couple more Katchys for my back house. They really do work for many species of insects. I have a friend who also lives in Florida and purchased at the same time and she said it catches tons of small insects and loves the Katchy as well. Please note, the first picture is after we initially used the Katchy for maybe two weeks. This was when we still had the moth issue. The second picture is of insects collected since changing out the sticky tabs about a month ago.

We have been using this bug trap for four days now and I am just disgusted with how many bugs it has trapped and delighted with how well this works. I didn't think the issue was this bad until we started checking the sticky paper daily. Just nasty! I recommend buying the extra pack of sticky pads if you have a big issue to control as the box only comes with four. So far, I highly recommend this product! We keep it in our utility space with the lights off and it works well.

This is an awesome little gnat catcher. I actually don’t know if they are gnats or fruit flies. One of my children (whom shall remain nameless) decided it would be a good idea to use the water catch trey on the fridge as a drain. Afterwards, we left for an almost 2 week vacation. When we got home we were greeted with a swarm of fruit flies. After trying the bowl of vinegar and banana peel trap with very limited success I went on Amazon and bought a KATCHY in white. I think they are also available in black. In a week, it caught most of the gnats. Picture attached. I’ve since replaced the KATCHY sticky pad twice. We live in a small house but the fruit flies seem to enjoy our bathroom. I’ve moved the KATCHY around from the kitchen to the bedroom, to the bathroom, and back to the kitchen. I don’t review too many things, but this little guy is a winner!

This product does work to catch some of the flying bugs in the room, which is good, but I had originally been led to to believe by some of the reviews I read that it works for mosquitos. But when receiving the product the manual said it doesn't work on mosquitoes, at least not in rooms where people are sleeping, and customer service confirmed that. If it was my company I would tell that to people up front in the description, rather than provoke bad reviews. But this company did refund my purchase without making me ship it back, so I'm happy overall now.

I waited to review this because I wasn't convinced it was going to work for mosquitoes specifically, but I was pleasantly surprised to be proven wrong. I have a stairwell that goes from my door down to a garage, and I was finding myself constantly getting bit in the stairwell whenever I would take my dog out. The mosquitoes would get into the garage during the day and then just hang out in my stairwell waiting to bite me. You know how there's always one person in a crowd that they go after and pretty much leave everyone else alone? I've always been that person. Living in the humid South, they make my life miserable during the summer, even just in my garage! So I research a few bug catchers, I see a lot of mixed reviews on whether the UV will actually attract them or not. I did see reviews complaining that theirs didn't catch mosquitos. You can see from my photos that mine definitely did (among quite a few other things). I put the first sticky pad in on June 10, 2019, and swapped it out for the second pad on August 10. I'm pretty sure I could have waited longer; even when the sticky pad is completely full, everything except gnats will get stuck in there and just dry up. For the first pad I took daily pics up through day 11, and on the second pad I just took a picture on day 25. It's such a satisfying feeling seeing how many of those little bloodsuckers aren't going to be getting their fix from me.
