Had a couple rechargeable ones just like this one, but the battery dies and you have to replace it. So another $50-$60 dollars... never again! This one is EXACTLY THE SAME. Has a timer, looks, feels and functions the same as the rechargeable. The battery last super long, so don't think you will be tossing batteries out left and right, they really last. I like the fact that I don't pick up my brush and it is dead, then I have to wait to recharge. Nope, no waiting, just pop in another battery and I can brush again in like two minutes! Haha I wasn't sure about this brush being "cheaper" it's not cheap, just less money! You can run it underwater and and clean it, it's waterproof just like the rechargeable. Love it!

I like this toothbrush and have made multiple purchases of it for family members. Having said that, I don't use it all the time. The important thing to remember is that this brush just needs to be placed against the tooth surface without pressure. Pressure on this brush would push against gums due to the rotating action of the head. It is powerful and doesn't need the help of pressure. If purchasing this for children (which I also did) you may wish to stress that pressure does not need to be applied and to allow the toothbrush to do the job for you. This is a great item for children who may resist tooth brushing. It is also a quick way the clean teeth if Mum or Dad takes up the task.

Great toothbrush! Just be aware there are no 'written' instructions for adding the batteries, and that they (two AA batteries, which are included) are inserted alternately, according to the (almost) invisible embossed 'guide' imprinted on the outer portion of the housing that rests inside the bottom cap. I didn't see, or notice, those little icons at first, and workable installation ended up being hit-and-miss. A simple diagram on the packaging would have been very helpful.

So far so good. I've had the product for a few months. I am happy with it. Better-designed ergonomically than another electric toothbrush I USED to have. That one, the on-off switch was right under where I held it with my thumb and I kept accidentally shutting it off. This one - the on-off switch is placed slightly lower or higher and I haven't yet accidentally shut it off. Other than that, Not much to say. An electric toothbrush is an electric toothbrush. It brushes the teeth.

I like these better than the rechargeable ones. First, these (I bought two) are inexpensive. Second, I can use the best rechargeable NiMH batteries for *very* extended amount of time between recharges. These brushes are basic, they don't give you a signal every 30 seconds like the more expensive ones. Well, I think I can manage to brush the "quads" without the brush reminding me! These brushes do signal at the end of a 2-minute session. Regarding the seal and difficulty to open the battery compartment, I just use a little bit of silicon grease and that keeps the battery compartment well sealed while easy to take off for battery change.

Having an issue with spending an entire two minutes brushing my teeth and wanting an electric toothbrush, I began looking for an electric toothbrush with a built-in timer. I began looking into the Sonicare line of toothbrushes before stumbling upon the Oral-B rotary-style brushes. Because these brushes were a fraction of the price of a Sonicare, I was skeptical, but since it was cheap to "try it out," I went for it. I won't be buying another electric toothbrush anytime soon. The reason why I picked this toothbrush versus others is based off of what I took away from other reviewers on other products: - Price; this product is a fraction of the price compared to others. - Rotary brush head vs sonic brush head; my dentists have always recommend brushing in a circular manner versus a back-and-forth method. I have heard that sonic brush heads are much more prone to being a breeding ground for bacteria. I decided to opt for the rotary head. - Replaceable battery vs. rechargeable; most electric toothbrush batteries end up going out completely after a year or two. I didn't want to deal with having to dock my toothbrush and worrying about the impending doom regarding the charge going out, so I decided to get the AA-powered model that was cheaper. I instead am using recharegable AA batteries. - Timer; this product has a timer. It will turn on and off about 3 times after 2 minutes. I don't need different "brush modes" or anything. - Travel; Because there aren't any additional parts, taking this brush with me while I'm travelling is just as simple as carrying around a manual toothbrush. Just make sure your battery has juice before you take it with you. :) Other things to note: - The battery lasts about 30 days. - The brush is relatively loud compared to a Sonicare, but you get used to it. - The entire brush is waterproof and you can run it under the sink. I wouldn't submerge in water though. Also, you can prevent the battery seal from cracking by routinely keeping your toothbrush clean. Your saliva/toothpaste will naturally want to get within every groove of this brush. Just run the entire brush under the sink and the wipe everything down after you're done, it takes about 20 seconds. I clean the seal around the battery case every 2 weeks or so. Overall, I am very happy with this product, it keeps my mouth feeling much cleaner than it ever did with a manual brush and I see it lasting a long time. Even if it does break at some point as other reviewers are stating, it's very cheap to replace as the price suggests. I'm just curious why I didn't do this sooner.

I almost sent this toothbrush back for not working and then I noticed that even though every other battery operated device I have ever used has the flat end of he batteries against the springs, this tooth brush is not that way. With the cap off on the lowest part of the base are + and - symbols that are not obvious until you really look for them. A printed diagram would have helped. Once I figured out the batteries and got it working it works so much more powerfully and gets around back molars better than my other 1 battery oral-b.

I just wrote a glowing review on the replacement heads for this toothbrush, so it seemed silly not to say something about the base. Let me just say that having previously owned several *expensive* electric toothbrushes, this little battery operated Oral B/Braun is far and away the best and most effective brush I've ever owned. Honestly, the only difference between this brush and the high end models is that it requires two AA batteries instead of a rechargeable base. I personally prefer a battery operated one, anyway. If you have a Sonic Care or equivalent, get one and compare. They're under $10 and have a larger assortment of brush attachments, equally or more effective than the one you're using now.

I bought this toothbrush at full price. It cost me approximately $12 at the time of purchase. I am HIGHLY impressed with this toothbrush. I haven't used an electric toothbrush in FOREVER. I don't know WHY I ever stopped. When I'm done using this brush, I feel like I just left the dentist. It is oral b brand. Batteries are required. I wish it plugged in to charge, but for the low price of $12, I can't expect a rechargeable. I received a bunch of generic oral b brush heads off amazon and they fit this brush perfectly, so I know this brush was a great deal for me, it will last me a long time, and it gets my teeth super clean. My dentist has been trying to get me to switch to electric from manual. She will be so proud of me when I go next week!

Omg, I can not be any happier with this special little toothbrush! A couple years ago I tried an electric toothbrush and I hated it (I think it was phillips). It was so messy, and violent, noisy and it was no fun holding in my hand. From there on I swore to never try another electric or battery operated toothbrush again. However, I was getting a lot of neck pain everyday brushing my teeth manually, because I brush for 5 minutes and am a perfectionist in doing so. So skip to a few years later tired of the neck pain, I bought this and what a delight! Update: 75 days later and I'm now changing the batteries! This toothbrush is definitely a godsend! Feels like I got a professionally dentist cleaning every time I use this. It fits in my small hand perfectly. It's not huge, bulky or even heavy. It's not very messy, I'd say maybe a 2 out of 10, and I don't need to shut my mouth to brush. The brush is totally in your control, so no violence this time. And the noise level is of no disturbance to me. It does make noise, but not very loud at all and is totally tolerable (again, nothing as loud as the old electric toothbrush I used in the past). This toothbrush does not lack one single thing for me. It's perfectly powerful, not too much not too soft which I'm shocked about. Just so excited it works so well! I also think this toothbrush is very precise because it's small and just a round head. The other ones I was considering have the round brush and other bristles, but that would make it hard to direct it perfectly to get every crevice. Love this toothbrush, I recommend 100%! Oh and no more neck pain after brushing!
