Unkie sez: don't hesitate - buy'em.
Echoing comments from others: - Connections between main wire and the short socket cords all seem to be beefy, commercial grade. No indication of flimsiness whatsoever. - EVERY bulb works - no DOA stuff. But I did purchase 6 extra bulbs because I prefer spares in stock here. - I didn't measure, but since the bulb sockets end 3' or so short of each end, you really get 50' - 3' - 3' of light string, rather than a full 50' of lighting....as expected. - I installed with this dimmer, used a standard incandescent bulb in the last socket of the second of two strings connected together, as suggested by other wizards here, and got full range dimming at the touch of a button: LUTRON P-PKG1P-WH Caseta Wireless 300-watt/100-watt Plug-In Lamp Dimmer with Pico Remote Control Kit, White . Full range = bright on one extreme....tons of light from two strings around a patio, down to a level where the bulbs are barely visible - just lighting the location of the string, but casting no apparent light on the patio. No flickering apparent.

Beautiful Lights!
My wife and I were looking for lights to use in our back yard that would create a pleasant ambient light for different kinds of scenarios. At the same time though we are very strict in choosing an energy efficient light bulb like LED. This product fit our needs perfectly. When I first opened the box I found it hard to believe that the bulbs were LED. Only after repeatedly touching the bulbs after minutes of use did I believe it. My wife is very happy with the style. I advise to add a dimmer because you're going to get a significant amount of light. Know that at the lowest levels of the dimmer LED lights will flicker. Expect that to happen. Although the string is robust I also advise to prepare a steel cable support for the lights if you are crossing long distances from pole to pole or pole to wall. I read someone's review that warns that the bulbs are fragile. Well... Yes these are NOT Christmas lights. When moving/rearranging the distribution of the lights you should not have the bulbs attached. You set up your string and then you screw on the bulbs. If you need to move them again you remove the bulbs first. I intend to follow-up on this review and add pictures. The quality seems very good and time will tell how well they withstand the weather.

How I got a dimmer to work....
These are awesome, good quality, and SUPER bright. Great if you want a carnival in your back yard. I was mortified to find they didn't dim after stringing three sets nose to tail (my fault, I should have read the discription carefully). I contacted the manufacturer and was told they couldn't recommend anything. I ordered the levitron 100 TTYL 100H because other people on amazon did only to find it worked at full bright only. The LEDs simply flicker at any other setting. I figured there's not enough current to actually dim these low draw bulbs so I stuck a conventional 60W bulb in at the end of the string AND IT WORKED. Got a full range of brightness including the ambiance low light initially set out for. So happy I didn't have to take them down.

Perfectly dimmed with Leviton
These lights are absolutely amazing. Lit my pool and fire pit area this week and am getting rave reviews from everyone that has seen them. I used a Leviton 600w dimmer inside the house, and downloaded the My Leviton app on my phone to allow me to control the lights while sitting at my fire pit. Great product(s)!

Great Lights, Dimmer recommended
1) Good quality lights. Look great and vintage at the same time. 2) You will need a dimmer. I recommend this one. These lights worked with this dimmer. I have these lights on my patio, so I installed a larger, outdoor weatherproof box over my electrical outlet so that the dimmer was inside the weatherproof box. At full power the 14 (2w but 20 watt equivalent) light string is putting off the equivalent of 280 watts. Lights up the back yard very well. But most of the time we run at half power or less. DIMMER RECOMMENDATION: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JJY1QG0/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 3) I am glad I installed a guide wire for the lights to hang on. I got some galvanized, braided wire from the hardware store and a couple eye screws for ends for the guide wire. Then I attached the lights to the wire with black zip ties.

You wont be disappointed!
I'm an electrician. These lights are exactly what I needed and wanted. Made with sealed wiring and grade A materials. The LED lights give off a clean bright light even in daytime. Lights don't burn hot! I highly recommend them for outdoor applications. You won't be disappointed!

After years trying different LED Christmas lights without a good experience, we bought 3 strands of the Brightect LED Bulbs for the pool lanai. These lights are fantastic. They provide ample light and I like the fact I am using less energy than a single 100 watt light bulb. We also purchased the Lutron TTCL-100H-BL Credenza Dimmable CFL/LED Dimmer and these bulbs worked flawlessly with it as there was no problem with flickering. I can dim the lights from barley visible to full power. There was a problem with one of the bulbs and Brightect customer service resolved it immediately. The fact that they care about their business was very obvious. I added a KMC Smart plug and now I only have to say, Alexa, turn on the pool lights.

The LED bulbs all worked fine and were packaged well to prevent breakage
Bought three 48' strings to hang on our pergola off the back of our house. Dimensions were 36 x 16'. Ran the strings all around the periphery and down the middle. Impressed with the quality of the product. The wire was thick and appears well made. The LED bulbs all worked fine and were packaged well to prevent breakage. Also bought a LED dimmer which was a good choice because the lights are pretty bright. Thanks to whomever came up with the hack on adding a regular incandescent bulb to the end of the string to get the full functionality out of the dimmer, It works! I tried to dim the lights without and only was able to dim a little bit before completly going out. Added a 40W appliance bulb to the end of the string and now I have full range of dimming. Lights look great. Nice product and easy to install.

AWESOME lights!!! Everything I wanted AND they dim just fine!
Ok, so I read tons of reviews before I purchase something, especially a product that has much mixed reviews, such as this. I found that the biggest question is how well these lights can dim, and what dimmer will actually work with the lights. So I was looking at purchasing these for a "carnival" we are having this weekend, and I really wanted the ability to dim the lights. So I bought 3 dimmers, two from amazon, and one from the home depot and was gonna hard wire the one from Home Depot up myself......but I didn't have to. First of all, the packaging was perfect, I purchased two sets of these, and of course Amazon got them there on the promised day. To support the lights, I ordered this wire from Amazon, which worked out great: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001EX57ZK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1. I used this stainless steel cable tensioner to make the cable nice and tight: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B011I9O7BE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. Grab yourself a bag of black zip ties, and it hangs beautiful on that cable. Here is the link to the dimmer: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004DE5ONC/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. As many of the reviews had said, that I would have to remove the last bulb and replace with a fluorescent one.....I found that to not be true in my case. This dimmer worked great, and I'll show you the video and pics if I can figure out how to upload them. I was really worried about the dimming capabilities, but if you just move the slide on the dimmer slowly, it works AWESOME!!. The bulbs give off a great amount of light, I have them 11 feet off the round (so it goes over my kids zip line) and it lights up my yard perfect. I did find comparable lights cheaper from other companies on Amazon, but I decided to spend the extra money on this brand due to the high reviews.....you get what you pay for kind of thing. I didn't get a video after they were hung up outside, maybe I can add that later.

Great for dog play yard!
These lights are awesome! The play yard for my dogs is very dark in the evening (even with my security lights) and I wanted to string some sort of light along the fence. I ended up purchasing 8 strings (totaling 384 feet) and using stainless steel zip ties to attach the sockets to the fence. I also ordered a Stanley 31185 outdoor remote control to turn them on and off with. The hue of light is perfect. My neighbors have been coming over later in the evening when they're on expecting to find some sort of party. It looks like I'm about to host a wedding... The dogs seem to love them as well, as they're now playing far more than before the light. The tight-fit of the bulb housing is great. You can tell that moisture will not be able to get inside and do any damage. I ended up putting a hood over each connection from strand-to-strand, as these will stay up year-round (the "hood" is basically Gorilla Tape protecting the top portion of the cord connection, but allowing moisture to drip out the bottom if necessary. The top of each socket has a very durable eye to string the lights up with. I used stainless steel zip ties because of the UV damage caused to the plastic ones. Out of 8 strands, there was only one bulb that has an issue. No problem though, as I ordered a box of bulbs just in case... I would highly recommend these to anyone who wants to light up an outdoor space without blinding people!
