This is a great product. I wanted the 40 volt model for the overhead and I have not been disappointed. Not only does it cut easily, but it runs for nearly 1 1/2 hours before the battery needs to be recharged which only takes 50 minutes. The revolving grip is a real plus as well. It turns easily and stays firmly in place as well. It isn't too heavy either. I can recommend this tool without reservation.

Purchased this along with mower/string trimmer, as I didn't want to have a bunch of different battery packs around. Impressed with this, just like with the mower. It's pretty light, easy to use, and trimmed hedges like it should. Never stalled out or got stuck. Nice swivel feature (to help you make sidecuts). Wife tried it out, and she could use it as well without any issues. Has a blade protector as well. I think with a little care and keeping it sharp, it should provide many years of service. Having the interchangeable batteries is great as well - I just bounce them around to different tools and keep tasks moving along. So far, impressed with Greenworks, but over time we will see - did buy the extended warranty just in case.

Turned a 2-3 hour project into 30 minutes. I have a large yard (12,000+ sq ft), so dragging cords became cumbersome and time consuming. Gas powered options didn't really seem to be a good investment for what I was needing, as I do not need to trim hedges and bushes more than a few times a year. With GreenWorks, snap in the battery and go! The swivel of the blade made it much easier to trim hedges and bushes that were near the fence or closer to the house. I was able to have solid footing, press the button, rotate and cut. Saved endless time because I didn't have to move the electric cord around or position my body in a less than ideal stance to trim those hard to reach spaces. Highly recommend!

As a female, I purchased this trimmer because I do not want to use the extremely heavy gasoline model my Hubby uses. Actually, I am not able to use the one my Hubby uses--it's too heavy! I also do not want to bother with electrical cords and extensions. This trimmer does require me to use both hands to maneuver it, but it still is not as heavy as comparable gas or electric models. I also wear my Hubby's sturdy utility gloves when I use this trimmer. The battery charged the same day I received it, so I used it on that day. I am able to trim all bushes and hedges in the front on one charge and all bushes in the back on a second charge. In the front, that's about 27 bushes and hedges. The blade is long and sturdy and cuts in both directions. So when I want to help Hubby in the yard, I use my own lighter-weight equipment--:). And guess what? My Hubby now uses this trimmer.

I am a 68 yr old retiree and DIYer living in Tucson, AZ that has been using battery hedge trimmers for about 10 yrs, the latest being Ryobi's 18v that worked OK on my hedges in Colorado. When i moved to AZ it was not up to the task of cutting the tough growing sticker bushes that had forty 1/2 inch branches in Az. I also had a battery that could not give me more than 10 min anymore and kept having to go to the loppers to cut the larger branches manually. Last year when I reached up with the loppers for a high branch I slipped a disc in my neck which required fusion surgery. I have about 20 of these 8 ft bushes plus twenty other smaller ones so I was motivated to find the best hedge trimmer money could buy or hire someone to do it, which would cost $250 per month. I shopped HD/Lowes and Amazon and read through many dozens of reviews. I had never heard of Greenworks but the detail in their reviews convinced me to try their 20 inch 40v. Now after three months of usage for two hours per week I can vouch that this has got to be the best buy for the money. It is so fast that I have reduced my workload by 50% because those 1/2 in branches don't get stuck anymore and the battery lasts much longer. Also, it is safer for my neck because I significantly reduced use of the loppers and the rotating head helps reduce twisting the upper body. Due to the higher than expected quality I have also recently bought the Greenworks Blower/Vacuum, another great purchase.

I did a lot of internet research on what trimmer to buy and many I looked at sold the battery and charger separately whereas this one came with the battery and charger included. One other feature that I really like about this unit is that you can rotate the head 90 degrees either left or right which allows you to trim while not having to hold the trimmer at that 90 degree angle. Price and features sold me on the unit and I used it 2 days ago for the first time and it sliced right thru any limb it touched. Very nice and worth the money.

A previous owner went nuts planting butterfly bushes on my lot and never trimmed them. I had to cut back about 20 of them, some of which were a good 8 feet high. My smaller corded trimmer was no match, and the cord was a pain, so I decided to splurge on battery powered trimmer, but was shocked at the price of most. This item had great reviews and a great price, so I went for it and am VERY happy. This did a much better job than my other trimmer as it can cut much bigger branches and has great reach. It's not too heavy either, although holding it above my head did give me a good work out.

My husband recently suffered a stroke and I have been looking for ways to simplify our lives. Dragging around heavy cords and chasing electrical outlets needed to go. We have 16 acres and I do A LOT of trimming. I purchased these trimmers and sort of held my breath. I had no idea what to expect. My previous experience with cordless trimmers had not been very favorable, but, I was hoping for the best and this trimmer DEFINITELY exceeded all expectations!! They are light weight, which is important to me since I am an older woman....they are powerful enough to cut thru every type of shrub we have on our property, and the battery life is VERY long lasting in comparison to others I have used. I worked outside trimming and cleaning up from the debris of winter and I never needed to charge the battery. I was able to cut all the shrubs I had intended to cut that day, without an issue. The cut is beautiful and neat and thenght of the cutter makes it easy to reach the center of tall shrubs that I usually had to struggle to reach. I am pleased to give this product the highest recommendation!

Why did I wait so long to purchase a cordless trimmer? That's what I ask myself nearly every time I pick this GreenWorks tool up. After watching my bright orange extension cord get a little shorter every time the hedges needed trimming (with a GreenWorks corded trimmer) I bit the bullet and ordered this product. Even though I have a fairly large yard with multiple hedges and other plants that need trimming I have yet to find the end of battery life. The trimmer just hums along and best of all, I'm done in a fraction of the time it took with the corded trimmer. Especially if you include the time needed to remove the plug and install it on the (now shorter) extension cord......again.

I'm a professional landscaper and have always used gas powered tools. A friend asked me to get a cordless to shape up some long neglected hedges and leave the tool with her to keep them trimmed. I was hesitant, but had used her 40v weed trimmer with good results. This hedge trimmer impressed me with its ability to cut through old, thick sticks and still do well on the fine green leaves. it took sometimes a few passes on the finer stuff to get precision, but its light weight and long reach 24" bar made it easy. I also enjoyed the handle/blade rotation ability (but only 90 degree increments) as I could cut with blade upside down above my head with handle grip on the side. overall I'd say this operates at 80% of gas trimmer, same cordless convenience, light weight much easier on arms and of course no mixing and lugging around fuel. long run time as well, reasonable charge time.
