Installed on a Harbor Freight 12000# winch. Exact replacement. Harbor Freight parts replacement dept was not able to provide a replacement relay. This was easy to install and works great. Made my winch work like new again!

I was having problems with the solinoids on an older Warn M8000 winch. I remotely mounted the OEM Solinoids a number of years ago. It was a bit of a mess to have 4 solinoids and the associated wires and copper bars mounted under the hood of my Jeep Cherokee. I decided to give this solinoid a shot to replace my troubled and messy OEM set up. The installation is so much neater and simple. One wire for in, one for out, then just the cables to the motor. It looks so much nicer and so far is working very well. The open question will be how long it lasts. Being stuck on a trail and relying on your winch to help you out only to find it doesn’t work is never a good time. If I run into trouble in time I’ll update this review. Until then I’m very happy.

I bought this as a replacement for a solenoid that had gone intermittent on a Barricade 9500 winch on my jeep. It took about an hour to do the changeover going slow and being patient. It fit in the box and used the same mounting holes as the original. The winch is back to working as it should. This is a great drop in replacement. The lugs were unmarked but five minutes with a multimeter solved that. Just remember that in series fed winches, both ends of the field winding should be shorted to the armature tap when the solenoid is not energized. Energizing either side of the solenoid connects that field tap to the positive power lug from the battery. Note that the figure on the web page as of 8/11/20 is NOT correct for the solenoid I received. My armature and positive tap were reversed from that in the diagram. Not a big deal, but one should always check before connecting anything to a high power current source.

Warn wanted almost $400 for their contactor. This thing was less than $35 so for a $3000 winch it was worth trying it out to see if it worked before spending the money for the Warn contactor. This unit seemed to be sealed much better than the Warn contactor and the instructions were fairly straight forward. Basically a small color diagram of what hooks up where. No written instructions. But when I hooked everything up, the winch worked as expected. Based on the housing, I'd expect this to live much longer than the Warn contactor we had, which we replaced in 2014 because the 2010 Warn contactor had quit working. We'll see how it lives on hard pulls but for now I am pleased.

Excellent product! Works perfectly as it should. Came with very clear instructions, and very simple to follow. I found the same product on eBay but Amazon have a faster delivery. If you care to, look at the on on eBay to see pictures of the instructions in the description, it shows you how to wire up a wireless remote.

I installed this on my Barricade 9500lbs. winch. It worked perfectly! And was easy to install. I had to drill a couple holes to mount it in the switch box which was no big deal. It’s for a 4 wire setup and very easy to connect with the included wiring diagram. There are no replacement parts out there for Barricade winches so if you need a new contactor this is the one to get.

Im writing this review because I couldn’t find the answer i was looking for before i bought it. I have a warn 12000 endurance and was concerned with the price. Warn wants 450.00 I think for the box...this does everything the warn solenoid does for 1/10th the price. If it breaks it breaks. I HAVE A SPARE.

Bought this to save a TON of money over buying a relay that is specifically for a windlass. Heavy duty and works great, although it would have been better if there were a better schematic diagram in the description. I didn't realize that the switched terminals are common to ground when not in use. Still works though, but I haven't put very many run hours on it.

My Harbor Freight Badlands 12000lb winch stopped working. I found that solenoid is latched up. So bought this and replaced the old one. It’s a perfect replacement, same size, same pattern, I even think it’s exactly same manufacturer. Anyway, now my winch works like day first!

I was VERY hesitant to use this to replace 4 separate solenoids.... but it WORKED! only issue was it doesn't fit under the solenoid box on my warn M8000 so j bought longer terminals and put the solenoid under the hood tucked away!
