I've never been much of a tea drinker but this electric kettle has changed that. All the different water temperature settings make it easy to brew the perfect cup of tea or make the best French Press coffee you've ever had. I've double checked all temperature settings with a calibrated thermometer and they're accurate. I wish I would have purchased one of these years ago.

Does its job very well!

I've used this kettle for about eight months and it's worked without fault every time. I've checked the water temperatures with a Thermapen so I can say for sure it's very accurate. It boils a couple cups very quickly and only takes six minutes to get to boiling at its max capacity. It is kind of finicky in terms of emptying it; the last cup comes very deliberately and takes a weird amount of time to drain fully, but it's a very minor quirk -- just a note for what to expect if you buy one, which you should! I really love this kettle!

100% worth purchasing!!

There are no words for how happy I am to be receiving this product!! I've had it for almost a month now and have had absolutely NO issues! Heats up super quickly and I love that there are temperature differences for specific things! Love that it tells you what temperature to use for different teas, a french press, and it will also boil water! I thought I wouldn't need 1.7 L, but the amount of things I've used this kettle for are unimaginable! Very easy to use and the Keep Warm setting is an absolute blessing when making multiple cups of tea, etc. I would definitely recommend purchasing this product - have had no issues or malfunctions and it's adorable! Everyone always asks about it when they visit!

Great kettle! Perfect tea!

I asked for this kettle for Christmas. I am a big tea drinker and I had an older electric kettle and wanted an upgrade... I’m so glad I did! I love the different tea settings on the handle. The kettle beeps a couple of times when it has reached the proper temp, which is nice. This is my first time drinking black tea at home without it tasting bitter. My old kettle just couldn’t hit the right temps. I am so excited about having tea that is brewed perfectly. I love the blue led lights that illuminate the side of the kettle so I know how much water I need. The water heats quickly. The kettle is aesthetically pleasing and looks great on my countertops. I think my only slightly negative comment would be I already noticed a tiny bit of rust at the bottom of the kettle where it looks like a tiny probe may be to tell the temperature of the water. I will say that I forgot to completely empty it after a few uses so water was sitting in the kettle for hours in between uses. I’m just going to make sure from now on to empty the kettle after each use and maybe keep the lid slightly ajar so water evaporates between uses. Great purchase overall!

Temperature settings exceptionally useful

I drink a lot of tea, and a lot of different kinds of tea. For many, many years I had a one-button style electric kettle that would just run to boiling. It was very pretty, and I had developed a knack for hearing roughly when it hit a simmer, soft boil and rolling boil, so when it finally broke I wasn't sure if I needed one with many different temperature settings. I took the leap and got this one, and I have thoroughly enjoyed it. I see the biggest difference in green teas, which are finicky and prone to 'scorching' and getting a bitter, tannin-heavy flavor if the water is a bit too hot. Now that I can consistently nail the temperature without guesswork, I find myself drinking a lot more green teas. The keep warm function is also a bigger boon than I thought it would be. It's nice to be able to start the water and have more flexibility in my morning routine as to when I actually start brewing my beverage. I can also start the kettle, do some chores or start a round of gaming and come back to a kettle kept warm to the temperature I want, which is nice. I believe this function lasts half an hour, which is plenty of wiggle room for me. As for other elements of the kettle, it seems well-built and hasn't shown any wear from multiple uses a day so far. It makes a couple of medium-soft beeps when it is finished boiling, but I don't think it's too loud as to disturb other people or wake up sleeping housemates. The de-scaling filter has been very nice for me, as I live in a place with fairly hard water and it keeps that weird floating layer of minerals that shows up in boiled water to a minimum. All in all I'm very pleased with my purchase and recommend this kettle for anyone who needs to control the temperature of their hot water.

Works great!

Fantastic tea kettle! I find myself drinking a lot more tea since I bought this. It is very easy to use, and super quick to heat, without the annoying whistle or worry about heating it when empty. Not only use for tea, but also for instant oatmeal. It heats quickly enough to a boil that I find myself using it to decrease the time for boiling a large pot of water when cooking pasta. I will put half of the water that I normally would in the pasta pan, and heat the other half in the kettle, then add to the pot when it is boiling. In about 4-5 minutes I have a pot of boiling water for cooking, instead of 10-12.

I use it everyday with happiness!

I love this electric tea kettle! What is great about it compared to others is that there are selections on how hot you want the water. As a tea drinker, water temp is important and just using a regular kettle or the microwave doesn't give you that flexibility. You don't want to over heat your green tea to bitterness nor do you not want to get all the flavor of your black tea if not hot enough. This kettle takes all the guess work out of that. It heats fast and has been very reliable. I have seen similar electric kettles for double the price - you are paying for the name because they share the same exact buttons and you can't heat up water in a "better" way. LOL. I also use it to heat water for my instant soups and oatmeal. This is a great buy.

Just as good and 50% less

Bought for my wife for Christmas and she uses it every day. She loves it. And I saved 50% by buying this one instead of the Cuisinart. The only thing I can see that is different is a button on the top of the lid that says close here. My daughter has the Cuisinart and that is why my wife wanted one. She used both now and there is virtually no difference.

Don’t buy another Kettle this one is PERFECT!!

I have used two other electric kettle that were glass and just boiled, I broke them both!! I said enough, I was looking for steel! I can also take this one when I travel and it won’t break!! Are you kidding at this price don’t pass this up! Settings for the type of tea your brewing, French press setting! I French press and love this. My husband and I will carry it with the steel French press we use if we travel. Perfect for hotel rooms!!! We put it in a backpack with our press coffee and teas! I only drink coffee or tea (iced or hot) I can make any tea or coffee I like with this kettle and anywhere I have water and power! This electric kettle has been a life changer. I use it several times a day and I have had it about 6 months!! It pours great no drips! It has a little screen inside to catch any particles in the water. You can’t really clean it in a traditional way. There is a temperature sensor in the bottom that you need to be careful with if wipeing it out. Your hand don’t really fit in it but again that is NOT the way you clean it. You use cream of tartar to clean it as the directions say. Wipe the outside with a damp cloth. I clean it with cream of tartar when some deposits on the bottom build up some. So easy it is clean and it’s clean as brand new. Only water goes in it and it boils so it don’t get that dirty! The last time I use it at night I shake it a bit when I pour out the last bit of water in the sink and leave the lid open while it’s still hot and it will dry. Again it’s in use all the time around here so it’s always wet inside. When we are making teas and hot chocolate with the kids or visitors you can keep the water warm with the keep warm feature and not have to wait each time for hot water. If you use it and your not going to for a little while always pour all the water out. On cold days it may have hot water in it most of the day. If I make coffee I empty the bottom of the water into the sink because I won’t be using it for a little while. If your making one or two cups of tea only put as much water as you need so it heats faster! The water gauge on the side makes that brainless even at 5 am lol! Also makes instant oatmeal, Mac and cheese and cup noodles. This kettle was life changing for me! It’s so easy to use. It keeps up with my needs, it portable I don’t have to use the stove and it’s not so delicate. I do take care not to get the controls or bottom wet that has to happen or you will mess it up! Follow the directions it has good directions. I have had a lot of good luck with Hamilton Beach products! Does exactly what the higher end brand does for a better price! If something happens to this one as long as they make them I will keep buying them! I love this kettle!! I think it would be amazing in an office, a dorm or any other place you don’t have a stove. If I had this when I worked I would have had one in my office along with a steel French press and variety of teas for sure!! Look no further you have found a true 5 star electric kettle!! I don’t give out 5 stars unless it’s perfect and this Hamilton Beach electric kettle has zero cons for me! Purchase this one!! You won’t be sorry!!

... one of those sale times and I am so glad I did

I bought this during one of those sale times and I am so glad I did. I drink 2-5 cups of tea daily and this kettle has me hooked. Quick to heat up, love the different temp choices. I clean it buy putting a little "cream of tartar" in it with a water and boil it. Kettle comes out pristine.
