This is actually a very nice camera apparatus. Wifi connected to my iPhone 6s flawlessly using the DEPSTECH app from the App Store. It worked the first time and the interface is very intuitive. The 'wand' section is semi rigid and bendable, it worked perfectly to inspect my ductwork for damage. The best part is that this whole set-up is less than half the cost of RENTING an inspection camera rig from any of the rental outfits around town. AND with Amazon's freaky fast (yes even faster than those guys) delivery, I ordered the camera around 11:00 am and it was delivered on my doorstep by 3:00 pm the same day! YMMV but WOW! This is a heck of a nice unit with a great, clear, image and variable intensity LED lighting that I will be happy to use for years to come. If you are on the fence about which one to buy I can recommend this one as well worth the money. VonZipper tested and VonZipper APPROVED!

Pros: - Very easy setup. Setup took less than five minutes spending ten seconds reading the manual. - Works very well at what it is designed to do. - Some people have complained that the case is insufficiently rugged, that there is no carrying case (one can be ordered separately), no interchangeable battery, three small, hard to see, power, charging and WiFi LEDs. These minor shortcomings are more than made up for by the quality of the images and the low price. In product development there are always compromises that have to be made for an inexpensive high quality tool like this. I think DepsTech has done an excellent job of balancing out those issues. - Part of what led me to purchase this unit was prior experience with another of their products purchased by my partner. Both she and I had a very good experience with DepsTech’s customer support. They seem very sincere and conscientious about their products. They appear to appreciate constructive feedback with an eye to bettering their products. That, unfortunately, is increasingly rare nowadays. Cons: - The literature does not list the charging time nor whether the tool is protected from overcharging. I have been told that in May the manual will be downloadable with those issues addressed. - Sometime the signal disappears when the device connects automatically to a stronger WiFi signal. This was a gripe until I read the manual and realized what was going on. When SSID connection is selected automatically, the device can lock onto the strongest signal which may not be the endoscope. Although very easy to fix it was confusing at first. It will be addressed in more detail in the next on-line manual update. - In the questions section for this product someone asked “Does this come with the claw, hook, magnet, and mirror?” and DepsTech replied (on November 30, 2018) “Yes, all comes with the package.” I did not receive the claw and asked. Indeed, to keep cost low, the claw is not included with this model. The error was in the response to the question. No big deal. I let them know of this error and they assured me they'd correct it.

Did not work with our poor internet and no cell service where we live, but customer service was excellent. They worked with me quickly to issue a refund. Was excited to try out this product. Unfortunately did not work for us in this rural setting.

Got it, read directions which said waterproof up to 1 meter. This disappointed me that it was not in the description before I ordered it because I bought it to retrieve my eyeglasses with the hook attachment in 2 meters of water in a confined space. However, I used it anyhow and it performed well. I had to strap it to a pipe for rigidity so I could control it.

Let's get something clear right up front: I don't use this product the way it was intended. I use it as an aid to working inside an acoustic guitar body. It's unfair to knock it down because it doesn't meet my needs precisely, especially when it seems to work very well for it's intended use, looking in tight places, and doing it at a really good price. The new yellow wire is a good idea, 'cause it should be easier to tell which wire you are looking at inside a wall cavity. The camera is a wonder for this tight viewing, and the machine deserves 5 stars. Pics 2 and 5 compare the new unit to the old; for my money, the new camera has a bit better color, but this is my unscientific opinion. For my specific needs, though, my old black Deptstech boroscope works better. It weighs just about half as much, for starters, which is largely due to the new one having a longer wire (pic 3). The new control unit is sleeker in design, but it, too, is larger than the old one. If I just scrunch my old one enough, I can fit the whole kit and kaboodle in through the sound hole (pic 4); this is impossible with the new one. I don't want to just see what up inside the box that is a guitar, I want to set the unit up inside there and watch my hands and tools as they work, so compactness is a virtue. Perfection for me would mean NO stiff, long wire, and the ability to set up the camera in a set position. The camera for both, though, is ideal for being inside a guitar: the focal length seems to be sharpest from 1.5 to 6 inches, and pretty clear out to 18 inches. 18 inches is the greatest dimension you'd ever have to view at. Most I try to snake the stiff wire along the side of the guitar and this more or less keeps it out of the way of my arm and whatever tools I'm using. I'm really happy to have this scope, and while not perfect for my needs, it is awfully good.

The Depstech 5MP borescope allowed me to look above a ceiling to plan for new ceiling light fixtures with minimal damage to the sheetrock. It can be a challenge to position the device to get the proper perspective, but once positioned, the borescope provided a good picture with plenty of brightness. Setting up the WiFi took a few attempts (like finding the password on the battery case), but once setup, the endoscope connected effortlessly and reliably to my ipad.

I just started using this DEPSTECH Wi Fi inspection camera. This device works great. The instructions are great and easy to understand. The first thing I did was go to the Google Play store and download the app named DEPSTECH. I was able to sync this camera with my Samsung smartphone in less than five (5) minutes. There is a blue and red LED that allow for easy setup. The red LED indicates power to the camera. The blue LED is for Wi Fi signal. I had tried to use this Wi Fi inspection camera to look at the garbage disposal interior. The inspection camera works just fine. There is also a round turn knob on the unit which allows you to adjust the brightness of the LED lights. This is a great device for automobile, home and work use.

The design, engineering and quality of this product is excellent. I have purchased two endoscopes from Depstech and have been very pleased with them. I have used them for tracing wires and inspecting through hull fittings on my boat and for various reasons around the house for tasks such as inspecting the sink garbage disposer when it was making a noise to checking ductwork behind a fireplace. The devices provide a very clear image and are extremely easy to set up and use. In addition, when I bought the first one, I sent a question via e-mail to Depstech and their customer service gave a very quick and thorough response. I highly recommend this product.

If your looking for a wireless inspection camera look no further. I really like all of the depstech line of products. This one comes with metal claw that's separate from borescope. I like the plastic hook that attaches to the head. I like the attachment setup better on this one. The attachments screw on to the head rather than a sleeve that may get lost. If mine broke tomorrow I would definitely buy another one.

We had the basic scope that worked, but now that we have upgraded to this newest one, it is magnificent! I also have the ear scope made by DEPSTECH which I love to have when there are ear problems. So, all three that we own by this one company are well made, good customer support (slight language difference, but manageable), and so glad we found this company!
