I bought an electric GreenWorks trimmer from Amazon last year and I love that. So when my gas powered mower died AGAIN I decided to shop for an electric mower and saw that GreenWorks had a cordless electric mower with great reviews. Walmart had one on sale so I bought it from them, which was a big mistake. Instead of the 4 days Walmart said it would take to ship to me it took 8 days. I should have just gotten it on here. Amazon has always gotten things to me when they say they will. The mower came with a battery and the battery lasts over an hour, but I have a very big yard, so I bought another battery. These batteries work great. It takes about an hour and a half to fully charge and there was no spike in my electric bill from them either. I fully charge both batteries and I can cut my entire lawn without having to stop to charge. Just remember you cannot store these batteries out in a shed or other unheated building if you live in a cold area.

I bought this as a 3rd battery for my GreenWorks mower. It arrived with a partial charge and I immediately placed it in my charger that came with the mower. it charged to full capacity. I placed it in the mower and it worked right away. Since it is higher than the 2.5 amp batteries that came with the mower it was a snug fit in the battery bay. I only needed 1/2 of thy capacity to go around the yard. The only draw back for me was that it was harder to get out of the bay because of my arthritic hands. I had trouble getting a good grip on the casing due to the snug fit. I will probably stick with the lower profile 2.5 amp batteries in the future.

This is exactly what I expected, a replacement battery for my mower. The appearance has changed slightly, but matches the latest pictures on the GreenWorks website, so I'm not concerned. I've only used it a few times, but it seems to be working fine.

Superlative! I love every inch of this battery, and the GreenWorks tools I use that they power. I used to make fun of electric mower. This battery, and the tools that GreenWorks has designed around them have made a believer out of me. I'm glad I re-visited electric power for these tools. I'll be replacing ALL of my lawn and garden power tools with GreenWorks' line. I purchased this because I ALWAYS keep extra batteries for my products that use them. The life and performance of these batteries was a pleasant surprise. I enthusiastically endorse the use of this one...

These batteries last years but you'll notice a slight drop after a year or two. I have yet to have a battery that needs replaced. It doesn't hurt to carry spare batteries.

Recharged it twice so far. I read the other complaints, so I am not keeping it on the charger all the time. I put it on and the next day went out and pulled it off each time. I will come back and update when it stops charging and let everyone know how many charges it lasted for.

I had the sad experience to go through several generic batteries for my green works leaf blower. I then purchased this original equipment manufacturer version and have had no difficulty at all. The generic batteries simply do not charge correctly and fail after a few uses.the generic battery is less expensive than this particular one but just not worth it

I was leery of the relatively low price and some disturbing reviews talking about counterfit products. I went ahead and took the risk ordering the 4.0ah 40V G-max battery for $105. The markings on the side and the bottom label (including certification) seem to match pretty much exactly with the 2.0ah battery included with my trimmer which has been working flawlessly for about 30 cycles/ 1.5 years. This new 4.0ah battery has charged properly and delivered the expected energy/run time every cycle. I have had it for 6 months and cycled it about 15 times, using it exclusively in the mower since it's a bit unwieldy in the string trimmer. It seems like it gets slightly more than double the run time of the 2.0ah battery in the brushless lawn mower, clocking 45-50 minutes for a full discharge with dry medium-length grass. Pro tip for next-level users: get a countdown outlet timer to set the level of charge you want. I know the charger shuts off automatically when it's full but I don't want to risk any chance of an unnecessary "top off" charge. Also, having the battery stop charging before it's full when the extra capacity isn't needed should dramatically increase the total number of cycles. https://www.amazon.com/Century-Mechanical-Countdown-Timer-Grounded/dp/B00MVDTEXS/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1533513781&sr=8-4&keywords=century+mechanical+countdown

At first the battery wasn't lasting but maybe 30-40 mins but rather than posting a bad review, I chose to contact the company first. They asked a series of questions and then shipped out a new battery that works great! Our yard is smallish and it takes about an hour or less to mow. Our replacement battery now does that in one charge. Great customer service GreenWorks!

Over the weekend I used the 300 watt power inverter to charge a couple of cell phones. I ran the battery over several days at a very slow power draw, which apparently completely killed it. Lesson learned - won't do that again. But - I call Greenworks and they are sending me a new battery to replace the one I killed. (plus now they have batteries with USB charge ports??) This company is amazing.
