+ The built-in thermometer greatly helps with coffee flavor consistency + Makes excellent, low acid coffee + Excellent instructions * Recommends procedure to prepare for first pour over * Provides details of packing components to remove before first use + Well built (see comment below about the long neck pour spout) + Long neck pour spout makes pour over very simple (and safe as it is easy to control) + I am getting better at filling with enough water for what I will use. This shortens boil time. + After ~1-week, I have already recommended it to others. - I believe the pour over technique results in inefficient use of the coffee grounds ... but who cares as it tastes great. - The nature of the long neck pour spout results in a weak point for possible damage; however, I have no cost effective suggestion for a stronger design. I believe I will just have to be careful and live with it. I gave 3-stars for durability, but 4-stars would be reasonable.

Got this kettle to go with my stainless filter. Was always a pain to use my big kettle to get a steady gentle stream going. This kettle has a great balance in my hand and has a good weight to it. The spout pours a smooth stream and the handle is very comfortable. The thermometer is a great touch and provides an accurate reading with a convenient mark in the perfect temp range for your coffee. Would not hesitate to buy their other products.

Arrived very quickly and damage-free. Temp gauge seems to work really well, and the difference this makes in my coffee is highly noticeable (compared to using an old Pyrex pitcher), even for a coffee n00b like me. The bottom of the kettle is heavy enough that it holds its temperature long enough to do your entire pour-over, which is really nice. It looks nice sitting on my stove, has a comfy handle that doesn't get hot, the lid stays put but isn't hard to get off, and it holds enough water to act as a tea kettle as well! Loving it so far :) The company is also really invested in their product--they followed up with me soon after it arrived to see how it is going, and I have full faith that if something were to go wrong, they would stand behind their product.

I've been going to my town's coffee shop for the last two years and have been savoring fresh ground coffee. Then one day I decided to give home-made brewing a try. But good coffee is more than just fresh grounds. Coffee also needs water at the right temperature. It needs a kettle that's both accurate and does the job of getting that boil to just the right heat. This product does exactly that. First of all, I love how it looks. Having this in my home makes me feel like part of the coffee shop is right inside my apartment. The lid is fitted with a gauge thermometer that highlights the 200-degree mark in orange, making it easy to read. The gooseneck spout allows for proper aim and lets the water pour out smoothly, which is good for French Press where you need to soak the grounds evenly. Plus, cleaning it is effortless. Just wipe it dry (and remember to wash it at least every once in a while) and it's ready for the next brew! As a coffee lover, I look forward to using this kettle for a good long time and know exactly where to go if ever I need a replacement or a recommendation.

I've been using this kettle to brew my pour over coffee for almost three months (daily). The best feature is the thermometer on the lid. The dial is marked to the perfect boiling temperature range. The goose neck style is also essential for gently pouring water on the coffee grounds. This kettle is a must have tool for pour over coffee brewing. Please note that this brewing method is not a lazy, good enough k-cup quick brew. It takes me about 12 -15 min. to brew my coffee. I have to plan my morning routine to include a little extra time. But all other coffee at convenient stores, at work, etc. tastes inferior to my home brew. Also pour over brewing takes practice to perfect. My first couple attempts were not very drinkable.

OK, first, we have a GE induction range, and this 1.2 liter kettle works perfectly on it. The part that is magnetic on the bottom (necessary for induction) is the rim around the edge on the bottom. The center of the bottom is not magnetic, but that doesn't matter, so the "magnet test" can be misleading, if you aren't putting the magnet in the right place. Second, the quality of the kettle's construction is great. The handle is sturdy and welded onto the body of the kettle securely at four points. There is no rust around the welds inside or out. The pouring spout is also securely welded with no leaks. Third, the temperature gauge is dead-on accurate, and even closely measures the room temperature, when not in use! Fourth, the lid stays securely on when pouring. Fifth, the pouring action is precisely controlled by the spout so you get just the right water volume over the grounds. I followed the instructions and filled the kettle to 80% full (to the bottom edge of the top ring--approximately 32 ounces/1 liter), put the kettle on my smallest induction eye on the rangetop, set the cooking temperature to "high" and the pot reached the 200 F mark (the trmperature you want for coffee (not boiliing) in almost exactly 4 minutes (I live at 3,000 feet, so yours may perform differently at lower or higher altitude). Since you don't want water to boil actively and squirt out of the spout, you have to do three things: 1. don't fill the kettle any more than 80% full; 2. set your timer on the range so that it alerts you when the kettle of water is close to boiling (just experiment with your first batch and note the time you start and the time you finish); and 3. Make sure you choose a small eye on your range-top, so that the handle of the kettle is not exposed to excessive heat (this isn't an issue with induction range-tops, but you should still use the smallest eye you can, because these ranges sense the size of the pot and sometimes won't work with pots that are too small). If you are using a gas stove, don't let the flame creep around the edge of the kettle and up the sides, because you might damage the handle and/or burn your hand. Finally, the temperature gauge didn't fall off or fog up and continues to work fine. I think I have addressed all the objections that other reviewers have raised about this kettle. If I have any problems in the future, I will update this review. Bottom line: I can tell you that the coffee I made (using this kettle, a Cafelissimo stainless steel filter, and the Smart Flask 32-oz/1-liter insulated flask, using medium/fine grind dark-medium roast blend organic, fair-trade coffee, ground in a simple Braun blade grinder) produced a wonderfully smooth and rich cup of coffee, with none of the acidic edge that used to accompany my French-press efforts. I assembled this entire system for well under $100 thanks to Amazon.com!

Have had a number of pour over however this one just seems better. The solder seam at base is great, majority of them fail here. The top fits well and temp gauge is perfect. Just a very well built kettle.

I ordered this item because it was the kettle I was looking for to make coffee (pour overs, French press) and it was at a good price. The copper one looked cool in the picture, so that's the version I chose. When it arrived, I was impressed with the kettle as well as the packaging. It looks so great! Certainly it appears like I spent much more money on it. And it works really well. It warms water quickly and the thermometer is built-in, easy to read, and accurate. Great item. The company reached out to me and asked me if I was pleased, and I responded with a yes - except - the face of the thermometer was a bit scuffed up from shipping (it wasn't protected with a plastic film). I could still read the temperature, but it's the only constructive criticism I had for them. They apologized and immediately sent a replacement, even though I didn't ask for one. So, this company not only produces an excellent product for coffee lovers, but they are driven to serve customers with excellence. I'm very happy I made this purchase and expect to use my kettle(s) for a long time. :)

So far so good...Pouring spout works great not to fast not to slow, seems just right. Temp gauge works great seems like it makes a perfect cup of coffee. I haven't tried yet on a pour over but works awesome on my aero press. I usually only boil enough filtered water for 1 cup of coffee, so it takes about a minute to get to temperature....nice and quick..There is no need to reheat water even though the aero press process takes from start to finish about 3 minutes....( I have learned to pull kettle off the burner right before it hits the orange optimum temperature mark because the temp gauge will still rise just a bit after you pull off the burner.) After kettle cools down I will wipe out with a paper towel and lay the kettle upside down on the same burner I just used (burner is of course off) and the left over heat drys the kettle right out, I then wipe out the inside of the lid and everything is done and ready for the next use....

Another great quality product that I got to go with the pour over coffee filter, there are definitely a lot of options out there, and this one was top rated when I was looking at the time. Also the 1 year warranty is a little extra reassurance. Overall the product is designed really well, the thermometer is a really nice add to keeping the right temperature if you are a perfectionist and want to prepare your coffee right. A cool thing about the thermometer is it tells me the temperature in my home as well :)
