My primary desire for this storage device was for use as backup. As such, it took me a few minutes to get it set up for that with a MacBook, but once I got past the formatting, backup was fine. It copied 202.4 Gb in about 38 minutes or so. The small size and weight - it's about the size of a deck of cards - is handy. It makes it easy to carry around, or tuck it away for security. As another reviewer pointed out, the only point of concern is the attached USB cable. While it tucks away in a storage slot so you never have to worry about finding a cable when you need it, it also means if the cable goes bad, you have a real problem. Hopefully, that will not be an issue going forward. That aside, this is a nifty little drive.

Caught this on sale. Would have like the orange versus the blue but hey.... Less stuff in my work bag

I use it to backup my three Windows 10 computers. I run complete backups monthly. I just fire them up and let them run overnight. I do not know whether they are fast or slow, just that my backups are always completed overnight and each passes the software verify procedure. I do wish I had purchased the terabyte drive howerver.

I shoot a lot of video on-site for my clients so I can create training videos for them. I've learned the hard way that a good backup is necessary. With this 1 TB of storage, I transfer files from the camera to this unit to serve as a backup, and then I copy them to my laptop so I can work with them. If I shoot a ton of footage in one day, having the backups on this SSD also allow me peace of mind to clear the files from the camera so I have a clean card ready to go the next day. It's not as fast as my MyPassport SSD backup (which I use for my home computer), but it does what I need it to do and it does it very well. No complaints.

Works great for storing all of my years of photos. Super portable, and easy to use. I leave it plugged into my dock so I don’t handle it much. It is fast and delivers Raw format photos quickly.

If you are running High Sierra or later OS for Mac where you need to run in APFS format this works. I’m using it as an external drive to clone my computer which is High Sierra with APFS. You need to erase/reformat this drive to APFS first and then use it as a clone. Got rid of the onboard software.

Using this drive on an Xbox One X. Really sped up the load times vs my old external drive.

The WD My Passport Go is a wonderfully compact solid-state hard drive for this portable age in which we live. It is small, lightweight, with a rubber outer rim to protect the corners from a fall. The USB cord fits into a snug little track on the back of the unit. Since it is a solid-state hard drive, there are no movable parts to be jostled in transport. It is small enough to fit in a pocket or handbag. Western Digital products are genuinely trustworthy. I have used them for years, but the My Passport Go is the smallest, most compact 500 GB of storage I have ever had and I really like it!

Works great on the Xbox. Load time is way more impressive on games like pubg
