1 month and no problems

I've only used this Betta flakes. For a single betta, the 2nd to smallest portion is adequate. I recommend first operating it outside of the tank over a bowl a few times until you know what portion setting works for you (I blindly tried medium portion over the tank and it was way too much for 1 fish). The portion control is just an adjustable physical opening and it looks to be large enough for use with large pellet types, but I haven't tried with those food types. One of my main deciding factors for choosing this auto feeder over others is the dimensions. Other feeders have a large barrel that extends several inches into the tank. I have it attached to a rimless tank with an opening of only 1 3/8 inches and 99% of the food gets to the water, just a few flakes a week build up on the lid. It's been running on old rechargeable batteries for a month, batteries aren't dead yet. The clamping mechanism is secure. I'll admit that the motor doesn't sound great when it runs, kind of a grindy noise; but it works fine. For anyone wondering on how the time control works: with the batteries removed, put the switch in either 12/24 hour mode, then put in the batteries. The timer starts counting when the batteries are inserted and 12/24 hours later the food dispenses. Pressing the manual feed button doesn't change the timing. There is no physical ticking or noise between feeding times. The battery lid is very secure, I'd recommend a small flat head screw driver to pry it off. The included net is a nice bonus. I don't trust the stick on thermometers on principal, I didn't even attempt to use the included thermometer; maybe its fine, I didn't bother with it. It also came with an artificial jellyfish decoration; not my taste, its in a drawer, I can't really say how it looks in a tank. In summary, the auto feeder reliably does what I need it to do. (The rating system asked me to rate the "suction power" I assume it means the clamping mechanism to secure the feeder to the tank - which is not a suction cup.)

Simple & Works

No bells and whistles, but I needed a simple solution while on vacation to feed my fish. This works and I'm happy I bought it!
