Best beginner’s knife to learn proper knife skills!

In our culinary school it is important for us to teach proper knife technique. This is the perfect beginner’s chef knife! It is just the right size, and we love the rounded safety corners. The micro-serrated blade is the best part. Not only is it safer, but it easily cuts all vegetables and fruits, allowing our young students to easily learn proper knife skills and technique. I would definitely recommend this to anyone just starting out in the kitchen.

Great knife for a little chef

I gave this to my 6 year old daughter since she loves to help in the kitchen. It cuts very well, so I wouldn’t recommend it for younger kids. But for those that have some practice and get frustrated with nylon knives, this one is perfect!

My 11 yr. old son is learning how to cook, and we were looking for a chef knife that would be appropriate for him. This beginner's knife cuts well and as a parent I felt more at ease with him using this knife from a safety and comfort level. My son said that he likes the knife because when you cut down, it is smooth. He also likes the handle which allows him to have a good grip on the knife. The knife holder is useful so that you can store it away safely. His only suggestion is that perhaps the blade could be a little longer. But I think overall the size works well for smaller and larger kids. I tried the knife too and thought it cut really well. I would highly recommend this product.

Love this Knife

This knife is a great beginner knife and so easy to use. I especially like the rounded tip and I love the cover it comes with so it’s always safe in the drawer. My daughter uses it with ease and I love to use it too. I would highly recommend this great little knife.

Best knife for kids!

My 10 year old son received this children's chef knife as a gift for Christmas and he loves it! It's the perfect size and it cuts very well. We especially love the micro-serrated edge that allows him to cut all kinds of fruits and vegetables with ease.

Where was this knife when my son wanted to cook at age 6?!

I sent my son to Sur La Table children cooking classes 14 years ago and he had so much fun and gained confidence in the kitchen! His disappointment was that the instructors, including myself would do the cutting prep and not let him have full control of cutting and slicing. I saw this safe kinfe in action today at a Memorial Day Barbecue! I watched at set of twins(brother and sister) prepare a fruit and cheese platter, slicing and dicing away. Their mom and dad were thrilled to have found Made for Me on-line after trying several options. They now give as gifts to all their friends children and I will now as well!

Great quality knife!

I was hesitant to get this knife for my 7 year old because I was afraid it would be more of a "toy" and not be usable for harder fruits and vegetables. But this knife is a "real" knife and is great quality also VERY sharp. I tested it on a carrot and it performed beautifully! It fits perfectly in his hand and was easy to maneuver as he sliced. *Full disclosure: I did buy stainless steel finger guards for my peace of mind!* As a bonus, everything he chopped was more delicious in his opinion so if you have a picky eater, let them chop their own!

Perfect for young chefs!

My daughter is 8 and is enjoying cooking these days, especially with her kids size knife. It's easy for her to use and I'm very comfortable with her helping to chop veggies and prepare dinner. She likes being able to help and this knife makes it possible for her to do that.
