Saw other posts about warping, so initially set it at lowest heat and gave it a couple of minutes. After surface temp stabilized on low setting, moved it to 350, then up to 500. No warping at all. Made pancakes with no oil and had absolutely no sticking. Very even cooking.
I needed a new one as I cook eggs most every day and do pan cakes for the family every other week at least. This cooks very nicely and evenly, so I'm not sure why the reviewer said it does not, (main reason I'm writting this review). It takes longer to heat up than the indicator will show, so the first batch is normally a bit darker but they all come out the same which is great and it's a big skillet. I make about 6 pan cakes at a time with no problems when flipping. Would buy again, it's a good buy at a higher price and a fantastic buy at it's low price.
This gets REGULAR use in our kitchen. When our family grew from 2 of us to 6 my time spent manning a pan of food on the stove also grew. This works great for pancakes and grilled cheese days -- unlike before, I actually get to sit down and eat my own plate of food instead of standing in the kitchen the whole time making two pancakes at a time. I used this for a neighborhood pancake breakfast too and grilled up 10 at a time. My husband likes to experiment cooking all kinds of sandwiches and things on this (that I'd never dream of putting on here)! His only complaint is the uneven cooking because of where the element is under the grill but that's just the nature of these grills. Clean up is very easy since you can easy. Oh, and you don't need non-stick spray on this, it works without it!
There is a reason this griddle is the Amazon top seller and has so many positive reviews. This is the read deal and I could not be happier with this purchase. As described, the griddle has removable handles which are integrated with the feet the griddle sits on. That actually concerned me when I initially looked at the item description, since I suspected the removable handles and feet might make it wobbly. Fortunately, the overwhelmingly positive reviews convinced me to buy it despite my reservations. To my relief, I found the handles are extremely easy to attach and the assembled unit is rock solid. I probably won't be removing them that often but it is undoubtedly a great feature for folks that may have limited storage space. I also saw some reviews mention the textured cooking surface. A least from my experience, that is not a negative factor in cooking performance or the appearance of the food. From my first batch of pancakes, I could see no difference other than the pancakes turned out better than what I was able to cook on my last griddle. Unlike most griddles I have owned over the years, I could see no evidence of a "hot spot" where the area of a pancake over the heating element would cook darker than the rest of the pancake. Put simply, this griddle is a keeper! Only time will tell how this product will hold up over the long run, but so far, so good. I consider this to be an exceptional value for the money and would recommend it without hesitation.
This is the best griddle I've owned. It is my fourth in 24 years. I've not had any real issues with it. I do wish the cutout where the plug goes was rounded like the other three corners. That would provide a bit more room. This is a nice large griddle. Plenty of room for breakfast for a family of five in the morning. I didn't anticipate getting a non stick surface. I cooked an egg on it because it appeared to be non stick. I was very surprised at how well it did. It's been three months and I've not put oil on it while cooking to keep things from sticking.
I cannot say enough good stuff about this griddle. It was much cheaper than most of the other options which made me nervous but it's fantastic. We cook everything on it (meats, eggs, veggies, etc). It does have a bit of a textured surface as other reviewers have mentioned but that doesn't affect anything. Easy to clean, quick to heat up, even cookery If I had to give it a downside, it would be the size. It's just a bit too large to fit in any of our kitchen cabinets. So it has to live on top of the stove which is fine for us because we tend to use it instead of the stove but can be in the way on rare occasions.
I have gone through a couple of griddles in the last year or two. This has been my far my favorite. Cleanup has been the easiest, when you're done cooking push the "bits" off with your spatula (Teflon safe of course), then when it cools down wipe it with a paper towel and it is as good as new. The open edge design makes it very easy to clean the outside parts. The heat does concentrate around the heating elements but that is to be expected with all electric griddles. This seems to do a better job than the other one's I've used at distributing the heat though, and so far I have had no warping of the griddle it self. I was afraid that the knurled (textured) surface would make things stick, but so far NOTHING has stuck. The drip tray is the perfect size for me as well, I find I can cook one whole round of bacon on the griddle on here without the tray overflowing. The only down side with the open sides is it is easier to burn yourself, however it is just as easy to burn yourself with any cooking pan on a stove. After more than a week of very heavy usage I have no complaints and would strongly recommend.
I purchased this griddle as a replacement for a Cuisinart reversible grill/griddle that I had purchased more than 12 years ago (at more than 2x the cost of this one). The Presto griddle is much lighter than my old one and does seems somewhat flimsier, especially the clips that hold the removable handles, so the jury is still out regarding the durability. Regarding the functionality, it has a very large cooking area, heats up quickly, and the nonstick surface is extremely slick. I cooked a couple of fried eggs, ham and toasted English muffins for egg sandwiches, all at the same time. The only problem I had was that I had to chase the eggs around with a spatula in order to flip them -- that's how nonstick the surface is. The surface is large enough that you could cook 6-8 pancakes at once, depending on size. With the handles removed, it fits easily into a base cabinet where I keep my cookie sheets. So far, I'm very pleased with this purchase. Update: I've had the griddle now for about two months, and I use it at least a couple times a week. I am still very pleased with it. When using the griddle, I would recommend prewarming it before use at least a few minutes after the light on the controller goes out to get the most even cooking.
I took around a month to compare this to and read reviews of every other griddle you could think of. This one is just perfect and for the price point you can't beat it. For starters, the surface area is one of the largest there is. When you combine that with the flawless non stick surface, almost even heating and removable handles for flat storage, it is simply the best at what it does. No it doesn't have a warming tray, or a splash guard or fancy copper but honestly those would ruin this wonderful, simple design. I saw some reviews that mentioned warped and the non stick coming off. We use ours almost daily for pancakes, bacon, and sausage and have never had a problem. Just use common sense and you should never have an issue. Don't use aggressive metal scratchers or abarasive cleaners, just soap and a sponge. Store it with nonstick side down or just don't store things on top of it. Also, when I turn it on, I turn it to the warm setting and after it warms up then I turn it to the final temperature setting.
I found the griddle to have uneven heating the first time I used it. A friend suggested I make sure it was preheated up to the temperature I needed. That was the key. Very pleased with the griddle and love the removable handles for storage.

My only "minus" is that we didn't buy this SOONER!

Preheat well
