Just as described

I haven't used this wood yet, but I unpacked it, inspected it, and measured the pieces, and it's just as described. I'm a beginning carver, and I don't have a reliable local source for basswood. I bought this assortment for use in practice and opted for this one because there's more wood for the price. Fast shipping and good packaging. I don't expect any problems.

Start with good wood

I love the smooth carving of Basswood for starters. The way that the wood is cut allows for several projects. My order was PERFECT for getting started practising whittling figurines. My first is a floppy hatted hillbilly. It's not like the pictures but that's what practice is all about. Next order will be 2"x2" as My hands are really large and I need that extra bit. It sure is nice to have a kit when you need to burn time waiting. I put my knife, strop and wood in a shaving bag. Perfect for anything.

Really easy to work with!

I've tried a few kinds of wood now, and I have to say although the usability of basswood is limited, it is quite enjoyable to make things out of. It's soft and has NO KNOTS. This pack is also fairly cheap compared to others on amazon and eBay.

Quality Wood!

I can not for the life of me find anybody who sells balsa wood around me. I know this package is a little pricey, but the wood is great. The wood came flawless, exactly as specified, no warping, no cracks, no knots. I recommend it highly!

Clean smooth wood.

This is the cleanest basswood blanks I've ever purchased. My fellow whittler's that have ordered basswood from other vendors have not received wood this smooth out of the bag. Will order again.
