Great device, app, and customer support

We initially got a GPS tracking device to be able to track our special needs son in the event he would go missing. We pin it to his pocket when he goes to school, when we are out and about on the weekends, and when we go out of town or on vacation. Our biggest fear is that one day he will go missing and he won't be able to communicate to someone who he is, where he lives, what the home number is, etc. With this device and the phone app, we have piece of mind that if he ever goes missing, we will be able to find where he is at. We love the comfort of knowing where he is at that we go one for our other child who is not special needs, just in case. We used to have another GPS tracking device that we used for a number of years, but that (as many of the older GPS tracking devices do) worked on the G2 network which is slowly being phased out. Over the last few years we've seen a lot of the functionality on that other GPS tracker go away. The thought of not being able to track our son was heartbreaking for us and finding a replacement GPS tracker was difficult to do because they all were using the 2G network. We finally found this Tracki device and per the specs it runs on the 3G network. I was so excited when we found this we immediately ordered a set of them. I will have to say I was skeptic at first because it seemed like such a new product (we ordered ours in August and all the reviews we were able to find anywhere were only from a few months ago) but we figured we had nothing to loose, if we weren't happy, we could cancel service. I will have to say that this device and the company have far exceeded my expectations and my experience with other devices. The price of the device is extremely reasonable. The plans are great. Right now, since we've been trying it out we went with the month to month plan, but at some point we will switch to one of their yearly plans, which will save us money. The app is still relatively new. It was released in March 2019 and they are at version 2.3. I can say that it has greatly improved and they are constantly making improvements and releasing updates. The app will get a notification for any of the triggers you setup (such as enter or leave a zone you define). If you want other people to get notified of activities, they don't need to have the app, you can setup the app to send text messages to specific mobile numbers and you can also set it up to send e-mail to specific e-mail address. It will show you the batter life that remains for the device, and you can set it to notify you if the device hits a percent battery life so that you know it's time to recharge the battery. The batter life is great, we go a few days without having to charge it. You can set it up to refresh location every 1, 2, 5, 10, 30 minutes or even 1, 2, or 4 hours. The app will even let you "ping" the device so that it will beep. We've used this option a few times when the kids didn't remember exactly where in the house they put their device. This is a great feature!! It will also let you see past history of the device movement, this might come in handy at some point if anyone goes missing. The device has some nice features as well. It has a power button so you can turn the device off at night. Other's don't have this. We power them down when the kids come home, that saves batter life. It has 3 buttons, one is an SOS button in case your child runs into problems, it will notify the app on the phone and let you know the SOS button was pressed. It has 2 other buttons as well that you can use for whatever you want to be notified for. It comes with a clip that you can put on, so a child can clip it to their pants. It has a little ring loop that you can put a key ring on. We put a small cable tie with a safety pin so that we could pin it to our sons pockets to make it harder to take off. You may see comments that say that the device is not accurate. I will say, based on experience on trying several GPS tracking devices, they are all like that. It might not update the second you look at the app, but it will update, just give it time. I've called customer support twice for help on two different items, and they were VERY accommodating and EXTREMELY helpful. In the "Help - Contact Support" section of the app, it has a button to "Call Support", so they make it easy to get a hold of them when you need to.

Outstanding.

I've been involved with tracking devices since 2007. At the time they were $750. wholesale costs. The devices could only used GPS either direct or reflective mode. Anyway, these guys got it right. GPS is very sensitive. If GPS is not available due to satellite obstruction, then the unit switches to Cell Tower triangulation which is not as accurate as GPS, but still very good. Furthermore, the unit can pole the WIFI hotspots in the area to get a good location. Word is out on an update adding some additional features, once released will prove to be a valuable add-on. So, would I recommend one to any of my relatives, yes, only if I don't want them to get lost. Good product and great service. Charles

This is an excellent device, accurate reliable and works great. I found the device and subscription price to be way better than all the other GPS trackers. I had few questions and customer service was great.

It is a very good device and the application is superb! Customer service is the best I have ever encountered! I change my review after a call from one of the developers. I was assured that my problem of too many false alarms will be fixed in the soon to come update (an option to only send alarms based on the GPS data and not from mobile antenas) So since I saw how they really care for their customers and since this device already saved my dog once (when I saw that it's not moving so I went there and saw her being cought in a fence and couldn't find the way out). I changed my review to 5 stars.

Good Device

I was very skeptical when purchasing the Tracki. However I can say that I am very pleased with this product. It is incredibly easy to set up and activate. I am using this device as a theft prevention aid. The battery life lasts anywhere between 6-7 days. The only negative thing that this device has is the accuracy during a heavy storm. If the cloud cover is to thick, the device will ping the closest cell phone tower and not the actual device. But once the tracki has a clear view of the sky again all returns to normal. Customer service is great and super easy to work with. I would definitely go with this GPS.

Great for elderly parents ... Peace of Mind

Wow! This is really a Great product, I would give it 10 stars if I could. I have an elderly father who has dementia and likes to walk 2 to 3 miles everyday. My father has care givers 24 hours a day, but he still likes to leave (escape) his condo and go walking without anyone knowing. He is allowed to go walking unsupervised, but even so he still doesn't like to tell anyone... he thinks it is a fun game. In response we've placed this tracker on his key ring, as he always takes his keys and his cell phone with him when he goes for a walk. I live in SE Michigan so not sure if that affects the accuracy of the GPS. Prior to using this product, if he wasn't caught early, it would take so much time trying to find him. Now we can locate him within minutes*. We use this product in conjunction with a door sensor chimer also sold on Amazon (Bistee wireless door chime). The door chime alerts us that he has exited the condo. After he exits, we know to open the Tracki App on our phones and computers and start actively tracking. Several family members and care workers have downloaded the app, and it can be use simultaneous**. We have set-up several fences, to alert us when he has left his condo complex as well as when he has entered other frequent walking destinations ... such as Tim Hortons, a nearby Senior Center, and the local Police Department. I have a sibling in Canada who also uses the App to track him. We know when he gets lost or has taken the wrong route, and can therefore go help him get back on track or offer him some water if he wants to continue walking. The accuracy of the GPS is best outside, however, inside a building it has been off by as much as 30 to 50 feet. If he is sitting on a bench next to a building the location has been off by as much as 20 to 30 feet. However, if he is walking down a sidewalk... the GPS is spot on. There is also a history log that states his location by the date and time. It can be used to make sure care givers completed a task such as taking my father to a store that he wanted to go to and spent adequate time there before leaving. You can also make this tracker beep. My father has previously lost his keys (several times); so using the App, you can quickly locate them by using a blue tooth radar-like feature to help you get really close, and then the beep feature to finalize the location. The beep is decently loud, but not piercing; it can still be heard under 2 pillows, but just barely. The more I investigate the app, the more features I find. I've been able to figure out the app all by myself, but I am an engineer. The only negative I've found is that there aren't that many videos out there showing how use the app to its full potential. But it if you take a little bit of time you can figure it out. *Note: The location update frequency can be changed on the fly through the App, from 1 minute to 4 hours. Typically we have it at 15 mins to save on battery life, but after he goes walking I'll update it to 2 minute intervals. So still he is found within a couple minutes when needed. Also anyone logged into the app can make the changes. **Note: Seems like only 2 people can use it at the same time, and then the 3rd person will get kicked off. However, as soon as someone leaves viewing the app actively (app still on in background) then others can use.

Using this device for my father who has vascular dementia

I ordered this device for my father who has vascular dementia. He likes to stay outside the house and enjoy the outdoors. However, he's gone wondering around a few times and the telephone he had didn't have the capability to keep track of him. I was searching for months for a device I can use to help him and us to have that peace of mind. I finally came across Tracki and thought let me give this one a try. The price is reasonable and the monthly charge is affordable. I was a bit pessimistic but I thought, what do I have to lose. After ordering, I received an email from Tracki on how to activate the device. I thought wow, I haven't even received my device. Nice! The package arrived on time and very well in tact. I followed the instructions on the package I received. It was very easy to follow and I immediately hooked it on my father. He wears it on his belt. I like that it's nice and snug. Customer service is awesome. They're open M-F. I called to discuss the monthly service and they were very helpful and patient. What's best about this is device is that my sister, mother and daughter has the app on their account. They all logged in w/ my account and can track my father. Dementia isn't going to stop my father from living. They're currently vacationing w/ cousins in San Diego, Arizona and New Mexico. This device gives us peace of mind. The only con I have so far is that there's a slight delay in tracking but gets updated right away. I would definitely recommend this device.

Accurate and very user friendly. Good customer service.

I recommend this device. It was more than I wanted spend and there are options that only cost $5 per month. However, those others are too much a hassle even for the technically inclined like myself. It is very accurate. Unfortunately, I hid my tracker too well and now I cannot find it on my car and the device ran out of battery : ( Again it is very easy to use and I received excellent customer service. UPDATE: June 8, 2020 Yet another great customer service experience with "Glen" - He handled all my inquiries, needs and even informed me (to which he also signed me up as well), for Tracki's Lifetime Warranty. He informed me that the Lifetime warranty comes with purchasing Tracki through Amazon- they will replace the device if lost/stolen or ceases to function- and Tracki has already replaced the first device I purchased (it got lost, or I hid it so well I couldn't find it and the battery died, lol! Thanks again Glen for excellent customer service!! **And a note for potential buyers: Im cheap, or try to be. Im very technical inclined and I have used an array of other similar devices; that said, this product is worth the money, It works great, it's very easy to navigate the application and the device itself seems to durable and hopefully it can handle a Los Angeles summer inside my motorcycle. I will add another update by the end of summer 2020 about it's resiliency to Southern California summer heat. (I hope it goes without saying that I will obviously try to keep the device as cool as possible in anyway I can.)

Tiny GPS Tracker with a HUGE set of options!

*** Update*** 9/29/20 Had another motorcycle stolen but this time I had the device but I got the notifications that it was low on battery. I got lazy for a couple of days and kept delaying charging it. 10:30 on Sunday morning in a “secured” parking garage, two guys spent 7 minutes to steal my motorcycle. I contacted Tracki that night via email regarding the theft and my tracker was taken along with my motorcycle. The next morning I get a call from a Tracki agent following up with me. I thought the Tracki device was good but their customer service is even better. They replaced the device free of charge and sent it out. Updated everything fairly quickly. Also, later that afternoon I get a call from the police that they found my motorcycle abandoned on the side of the road. Neighbors reported an abandoned motorcycle. I’m guessing the thieves popped the rear cowl off and saw the tracker then dumped the bike because they didn’t want to risk it. Either way, I’m glad I got the Tracki on my bike. ***OLD REVIEW*** I purchased this tracker because I had a ‘05 R1 stolen twice (3/22, 6/1), a ‘16 R1 stolen (5/25) and both times they were secured with a lock and parked inside a resident access only garage. There are cameras and 24 hr security but it’s a large complex and they can’t be everywhere all the time. Especially with the COVID-19 and riots going on, it’s been difficult for them. Unfortunately they are not allowed to share any video footage of the suspects and the officer that took my report the first and third time was the same officer. He told me after the suspects are apprehended, they’ll typically be released within 3 hrs, hence why my 2016 was stolen as well as my ‘05 was stolen again. After looking on Craigslist and other sites that sell items locally, I came across 4 other people that had their bikes stolen and they had the same make/model but different year. I’ve looked at different trackers just for that added security, and many of them did not look promising. I rolled the dice on Tracki and it was a winner. The GUI is very user friendly, with many options but nothing overwhelming. Setup was quick and easy, also adjusting the settings for my specific purpose of tracking my motorcycles was easy as well. You can definitely use this for multiple applications and the subscription plan is very affordable. I paid for the 1 year subscription and I wish I had done the 2 year. I do plan to get one for each of my bikes and maybe one for each of my kids. It’s totally worth it and the cost of the unit and subscription is still much less than what it cost me to get one of my bikes out of impound. I could’ve purchased 3 units and an annual contract on each one. I definitely recommend this product if you are interested in keeping track of things. There are options to conserve the battery of the device and it’s pretty intuitive.
