The package is huge and they last me about 3 months. I eat one Brazil nut a day for the Selenium. This is the best bang for my buck out of any place I've ever purchased nuts before, bulk at the health food store included. They are always fresh and never chewy or stale tasting. For the most part, they are medium sized to small. I get a few large nuts in each bag, but that's OK with me. These nuts are the same size as the ones I was purchasing at the health food store.

I purchased these to eat as a supplement -2 per day. The problem is, they are so fresh and delicious that I end up eating way too many. I’ve gained a few pounds and its got to be these amazing Brazil nuts! My husband and daughter didn’t want to eat any because they didn’t like Brazil nuts. I finally convinced them to try them and they love them and my dog as well. It’s hard to put them down.

I purchased these Brazil Nuts because I was doing research on selenium and found that selenium was naturally in brazil nuts. Selenium is a mineral that is good for a human body function. Brazil nuts also have lots of protein and natural fats. Eating brazil nuts reduces inflammation and supports heart health. In addition to all the wonderful things I could say about Brazil Nuts, I ordered them on I believe Thursday and expected them to be delivered on the following Monday, However, I was so surprised to receive them two days later. I love getting great service.

I eat about 9 Brazil nuts a day, it takes me about 2.5 months to eat the whole 3lb bag. I am on my 4th bag; the first two bags I stored them in the refrigerator door; the third bag I kept outside of the refrigerator; all three bags were good when I opened them, they tasted good, dry and crunchy; by the time I got to the bottom of the bag, they became wet ,soft and chewy (rancid with green mold). To prevent the 4th bag form going from good to bad, I put it in inside the freezer before opening it, I am now taking it out of the freezer for a brief amount of time to remove 9 nuts, then quickly put it back in the freezer; that should keep them from going bad. Remember that there are no preservatives on these nuts I stay to the Vegan side of being a vegetarian; I find all types of nuts that are not rotten DELICIOUS!!! These Brazil Nuts came in in a strong resealable bag. I had difficulty not eating a lot of them; it is best not to try eating them when your stomach is empty; best to eat them after eating other foods first. There is danger in eating too many Brazil nuts: Brazil nuts (especially the ones grown in Brazil) grow on trees with deep roots, which reach down to soil high in natural radium, a source of radiation. The roots absorb the radium, which then makes its way to the nuts. As a result, the radium levels of Brazil nuts can be 1000 times what you’d see in other foods. Six to eight nuts fulfill 777 percent of your daily selenium needs. Selenium can be toxic in high amounts; too much can lead to hair loss, brittleness or loss of nails, dermatitis, neurological abnormalities. Symptoms of chronic selenium overdose are a metallic taste in the mouth, and a garlic scent on the breath. A selenium overdose can cause skin lesions and nervous system abnormalities. In severe cases, selenium toxicity can cause tremors, kidney failure, cardiac failure, respiratory distress or even death. Otherwise Brazil nuts are a great nutritional food. Be aware of the fact that other foods can can contain a substantial amount of selenium depending on the soil that they are grown in. Be careful about your daily intake of selenium.

So I honestly never liked Brazil nuts but have reading about their health benefits. I ordered these and was planning on forcing them down like medicine. Boy, was I shocked! They are delicious! It turns out that I have probably never had a totally fresh Brazil nut before. Try them, you will be amazed.

This is the second 3# bag of Brazil nuts that I have tried from the Company. The first bag was acceptable but nothing great. The price, delivery, and packaging was very good. So I tried them again. This bag of nuts is good and I will definitely go back to them again if the price is right. Their almonds are actually quite good typically. Out of maybe 4 large bags of almonds only 1 was O.K., the other three bags were quite good. So, bottom line, I'm a fan.

I usually purchase my Brazil Nuts at Whole Foods, but they are about 2 hours away and we were running out of them. When I saw that Amazon had them for sale I decided to give it a try. I am so happy I did. These nuts were a very nice size, very fresh and tasty. I keep them in the frig so they stay that way, and only put a small jar on the table (about the size we use in one week). This is a lovely way to get your daily selenium requirements! Delicious!

...of the extremely high selenium content. This has nothing to do with this brand but rather the nut itself. Selenium is a trace mineral and a necesssary one, but because we only need it in trace amounts eating more than 1 nut a day can cause selenium toxicity. 1 brazil nut has an entire days worth of selenium, eating 4 is considered the upper safe limit. More than that it cause selenium toxicity which can come from either acute (suddenly) or chronic (over time) ingestion. Selenium toxicity can kill you and there is no antidote for excess selenium. Severe symptoms include: brain fog, lethargy, dangerously high pulse, dangerously low blood pressure, tooth loss, hair loss, coma, and death. But, one nut a day can have amazing health benefits, lower risk of cancer, healthier liver, increases in both sperm count and motility. Treat like a drug, not like food. Do you own research online and make sure to only look at reputable sources. You are responsible for your health, no one else.

This is the first time I've ever bought Brazil Nuts in 42 years that were all GOOD! Not one bad nut in the batch. When my husband opened the shipping package he said, "Look at these nuts! They're huge!" They are the biggest Brazil Nuts I've ever seen. I highly recommend these nuts. I'll be buying more. Thanks to everyone who said to keep them in the fridge. I've never bought such a large quantity before and I appreciated the information. Delicious nuts!

I eat around six of these every day. They are delicious and a healthy snack. They are only part of my nut supplement. I have been purchasing these for several years and in the many pounds I have consumed I have found a couple that did not taste quite right. I think that is phenomenal for bulk nuts. I would gladly recommend this company for your bulk nut purchases. Maybe I'm just lucky, but they are my go to nut company.
