I bought this because I had bought a trio of pans that did not come with lids. Prior to buying this lid, I tried using lids from other pots and pans, but to no avail. This lid fits perfectly, regardless of the pan. And the hole for venting is such a great idea - less condensation from cooking! and the see-through top is great too! I'm a peeker...gotta be able to see what's going on! and now I use it for the pans that have their own lids! I'd give it 10 stars if I could! Sometimes after it is washed, it has some water spots BUT they go away with a good drying!

It's way bigger than I expected, but also super functional

Wow! This baby is huge! But it's also really durable. I accidentally dropped it on a hard laminate floor a couple of days after it arrived, and it was just fine. No marks, no cracks, nothing. And even though it's large and kind of heavy, the layered lid made me able to fit it even over some of my smaller pans. So yes, I'm definitely keeping this around for a while. I also love that the lid is stainless steel too and not cheap, environmentally harmful plastic. Great product!

Great, but one issue to watch

This lid seems well made and fit my 12 inch All-Clad Copper core Fry Pan perfectly. It didn't work on my 10 and 8 inch fry pans because the lid overhang contacts the fry pan handles. It should work great for the reduced sizes on other type pans where the pan handles don't reach above the top of the pan. If they made this lid in single sizes, I'd buy a 12 inch, 10 inch and 8 inch lid.

Cooking performance love it Cleanup has issues

Very utilitarian, weeks into ownership, we have found this is a grabs and cook lid. Works with the majority of the cookware we own (Cuisine Art and Caphlon). Vent hole is a nice feature. The glass insert is an issue. There is for some reason, a foggy residue every time you wash and dry it. Enough to make the appearance of the glass to appear as not clean. You really must struggle with it drying it with flour sack dish cloths four more then a minute. Also, the ridges of the graded size rings retain residue as well on the interior lip of each size ring. These stainless part of the lid also shows finger print marks while drying. And, without close examination can still be evident even with deliberate effort to "polish" either top,or bottom side of this lid. I do use it a lot daily. This is an item that works well on the stove. The cleanup issues are really annoying. Love hate you decide. If the residue and finger print retention issues don't matter to you decide. I am rather retentive and as perfect as possible is my goal. And to achieve the level of cleaning this lid is an ordeal. This is not a rinse and done performance item

It fits my largest pan

I have a lid for every pan in the set I use. However, I have a couple of renegade, old faithful's that don't have matching lids. One is too big around to use one of the other lids so I purchased the universal lid for it and the one's that don't have lids. I liked this one because it has glass in it and it's stainless steel. I've had the aluminum ones and after a while, they look pretty bad. Now, I just use the same lid for all my pans saving time looking for the right one.

Very useful for different sizes of pots and pans

I use this for my new fancy skillets and my Instant Pot when I'm not cooking under pressure and want to be able to keep an eye on things. Love that I can use it on different sized pans and that I can see what's going on underneath. Only had it a few months but so far seems pretty durable.

Multi-sized Lid That (so far) Has a Firmly Attached Handle.

This is a great replacement lid if you lost or damaged a lid or if you purchased a pot/pan that did not come with a lid. The look of the lid is, admittedly, a bit off with those weird ridges at the outer edges of the lid, but this is so that it can fit pots and pains of multiple sizes, so a function over form product, if you will. There is a nozzle for steam to escape, which is standard for most lids. And, so far, the handle is firmly attached to the lid and the handle is not the type that allows water to get trapped in weird areas, so this lid appears to be built to last. So long as you can accept the style of the lid, especially since it may clash with your existing cookware, this is a great product.

Perfect

I don’t have a lot of space so having one lid for multiple sized pots&pansnis the perfect solution for me. I have a topless wok, not anymore. I also have a pot that needs to vent sometimes, the lid has no vent. This lid fits perfect right over the handles. This is my first use so I haven’t had to clean it yet. Nonetheless, There are no deep grooves that will be hard to clean. It’s the perfect top for some many things, including bowls in the counter.

WOW! I can see what I'm cooking!

I never seem to find the right size "topper" to cover the pan I'm cooking in. And once I had a "universal" cover, but it was stainless steel and hard to pick up - small handle - and it either got grease or steam water all over me! So, this "Elegant Steel and Glass Universal cover" saves not only my clothes and stove, it actually lets me watch what's cooking!! Buy one and see!
