I am a sketch artist and work with pencil and pen. There are times when I wish to trace shapes for the basis of a new art piece. Artist light boards are rather expensive and I was not sure if I would like one or not. The Crayola Light Board was recommended to me by another artist. It works pretty good! For now, it does the job I need without the extra expense of the artist models. Mine cost around $20...you can't beat the price. It comes with children's templates to draw with...if you have kids you might get use out of them. I just leave them in the box. :)

Use this for weeding my cricut designs. Works very well! And my kids have taken it for some art projects too.

This was one of my 5 year old daughter's favorite presents. She played with this first.

This is an awesome purchase. With all of the digital toys nowadays, I find it difficult for my kids to be interested in toys that don't talk back or don't put them into a trans. This was a hit with our seven year old. it comes with some images already traced but you can also start drawing and perfecting your own drawings if you 'd like and trace over those as well. You can even trace and color the same thing with different scenarios and colors.

This is awesome for doing my calligraphy lessons! I'm sure I could have paid much more, but thought I would try this out first. I have a very small light box that I purchased years ago for doing papercrafts, but it is so small that it makes a tedious job of using it. This has a nice size work surface and I know this one will do anything that I may require.

This is a good item for encouraging a bit of creativity and eye-hand coordination for youngsters. I ordered these for two 5 and one 7 year old grandchildren. It is great that they have patterns to trace included in the set. The paper (8 1/2 x ll) fits perfectly and does not slide around while the child is trying to work. (I had an old lighted drawing board from the 70's that the kids had difficulty with the paper moving.) Both boys and girls seem to enjoy this activity.

I grew tired of my granddaughter tracing pictures on top of the computer screen. I saw the Crayola Light Up Tracing Pad while searching for craft items, and I had not heard of it before but thought the concept was a good idea. I could not have found a more perfect gift for her, and it has been in continuous use ever since she received it. The pad is used by all the younger children, our teenage artist, and I have used it myself for fabric patterns. I am impressed that after a year it is still working on the original batteries (3 AA batteries) despite not always being immediately turned off after use. This pad comes with a full set (12) of good quality Crayola colored pencils, a graphite pencil, 10 blank sheets of paper and 10 pieces of tracing paper, plus tracing sheets with designs and stickers. You can download additional designs, but my child enjoys tracing figures from coloring books, illustrations from her story books, etc. The paper "locks in" so it cannot slide around. The light emitted is quite bright, and expensive tracing paper is really not needed - we have used plain copy paper after the tracing paper that came with the pad was used up, and it works so well there was no need to use anything else. This toy was a good value and is used frequently. I have given the Crayola Light Up Tracing Pad 5 stars for the following reasons: Fairly inexpensive Low cost to power (3 AA batteries, not included) Works really well Children do not tire of it, still in frequent use Can use low-cost paper with it Not complicated to use

My 8 year old loves this! She will trace different designs of horses and then pass the to her 4 year old sister to color! It is simple you place the design you want to trace on the trace pad and then put a piece of paper over top and turn the light on and trace! I just use computer paper paper it works well. I also print out drawings from the computer so that she can trace a lot more different variations.

I purchased this as a lightbox to use in sketching drawings in watercolor. I was concerned that the light wouldn't be strong enough to show through the thick watercolor paper, but it does an excellent job. It would also work well for tracing templates for quilting, or other crafting projects.
