• VIVO ELECTRIC HONEY EXTRACTOR - With this product’s quiet 120V AC Motor, extracting honey has never been easier! The honey gate is elevated 15.25” from the floor to help keep the drum clear of extracted honey and allow room for a 5-gallon bucket underneath the gate.

  • WE’VE GOT YOU COVERED - This honey extractor comes with a limited 1-year Manufacturer warranty as well as friendly tech support to help with any questions or concerns.

I received the unit yesterday (4/5/17) and it was double boxed so there was no damage in shipping. Everything was in there for assembly and i put it together in less than a half hour. Plugged it in, turned it on and everything ran fine. I hope to have some supers in another month or so, the bees are busy this spring. I wouldn't say this is the Mercedes of extractors from the finish work but in reality it's intended to spin frames to extract honey and from what I see it should work fine. I was glad to see there is a lot if support for tangential extraction of deep frames. I might add additional wire over the vertical bars just in case but it has good coverage for the deeps. It has a nice deep conical well for honey to collect and a rounded outer bottom edge not a seam so the honey should flow out the gate nicely and clean up easily. I just want to order a couple extra ball bearings in case I lose the one in the center post support. 5 gallon bucket fits under the gate and i also plan to attach the legs to a 3/4 inch plywood base for stability. I turned it on full speed empty and there is no vibration or wobbling at all. it's well balanced.

Update 3/28/2019: extracting both deep and medium frames today with great success. I spin on the 40 setting. I also extract in a very small hallway with all doors closed and sealed off while also ruining a small space heater in the room. I also removed the legs. Doesn't wobble as much with legs removed. Original review: Used mine to extract honey from medium frames. Was able to extract eight frames at a time. The base needs to be mounted to something or held down, otherwise it wobbles. Mine had a slight bend in the metal barrel so it wasn't a perfect circle at the top, therefore the part that spins made contact with the barrel during extraction. I had to bend it back in order to make it work properly. That's not a design flaw but more so the fault of the shipping company. It works fine now.

I ordered this for my sister and brother in law who have bees and were exhausted from using a manual extractor. After reading some of the reviews, I was a little reluctant to order this for them. They were very satisfied. The packing was great, there were no dents, missing parts or any thing of that nature. They had very little problem preparing it for use. They had opportunity to use it immediately and were so pleased with the operation. As for cleaning, they leave all honey and equipment in the open for the bees to clean which helps the bees also. Then they said cleaning the equipment was very easy and they had no problems. All in all, they are extremely satisfied with the electric extractor and would recommend it for small bee keepers.

Worked perfectly for us last fall. We had been borrowing a manual extractor and harvesting day had turned from fun to too much work. This gem works great. Half the price of anything comparable made domestically. Quality appears to be more than adequate for the hobbyist with a dozen hives. Will update after we use it fall of 2016. As with all tangential extractors: Spin out one side of frames on moderate speed. Turn frames over and spin out on full speed. Turn back to first side and spin out on full speed. This keeps the foundations from busting out of the frames.

After reviewing many different extractors, I decided on the Vivo BEE-4000E. I am a small hobbyist with 9 hives, but I wanted an electric extractor without spending a fortune. The reviews on this Vivo model were good and I decided to give it a chance. I’ve only used it once but am very pleased with the performance. The extractor arrived last week. It was well packed, had no damage at all and all the parts were there. Assembly was a breeze taking 15-20 minutes. All you need to do is bolt on the legs and plexiglass tops. The extractor is well built, good quality material and quite sturdy. The basket is heavy and designed well and holds the frames perfectly in place during extraction. The motor is quiet and smooth. The rheostat control smoothly adjusts speeds. There is a small ball bearing that the basket rests on. When cleaning the tank you have to be careful not to lose the bearing as it will fall out of place if you tip the unit over. After assembly and washing out the tank, I harvested 4 medium frames so I could test it out. It worked perfectly. It is easy to load and unload frames. The basket spun smoothly and was well balanced. I had the extractor sitting on the garage floor without bolting it down to anything and there was virtually no vibration and the extractor didn’t tend to “walk” while spinning. A 5-gallon bucket and strainer fits easily under the honey gate, but there isn’t much room left to tip the drum over to drain the last of the honey. You may want to find a way to elevate it a little more to make tipping the tank easier. Cleanup was quick and easy (just don’t forget about the ball bearing). All in all, I am very happy with this extractor and feel it is well worth the investment. Hopefully I’ll continue to feel this way after several more uses next spring.

After assembling and using this extractor - I can confidently give it five stars. I have used many others from Dadant and Mannlake - this is very solid and it takes care of the comb. I didn't mount it and it did shake when load was uneven, but that is an easy fix. I used medium frames. love the auto stop and the clear covers. I waited years to buy an extractor and I am glad I waited and this is it. I keep about 10 hives year round.

I am not sure if this is where I should leave a review of the honey extractor but here it goes anyway. The package arrived ahead of schedule, and appears to work as advertised. Assembly was easy, but have not yet installed the legs as I plan to place on a shelf so as to accommodate a 5 gallon honey bucket. Upon opening the box I noticed the styrofoam used to protect the unit was completely destroyed (maybe from shipping?) which caused small pieces of foam dust to get all over everything. vacuum used to clean out of motor area. Upon inspection of the drum of the extractor itself I noticed what appeared as possibly a thin layer of graphite grease all over the inside part of the drum. I used a paper-towel and swiped the inside of the drum and it came out black. As a result, the unit was completely disassembled (easy to do) and thoroughly cleaned with HOT soapy water and scouring pad. WARNING!!! Clean this unit BEFORE use!!!! Hot soapy water and scouring pad three times seemed to do the trick. - Thank You.

So far I've only used this extractor three times, but I've been delighted. Had a few hiccups with the assembly (the hardware bag opened during shipping and I lost a couple of nuts), but Vivo customer service had some new hardware to me in about 3 days. Five stars for customer service! Overall, the motor is quiet and smooth; not as powerful as my neighbors' 10-deep extractor, but it doesn't rattle the house foundations and weigh 100-plus pounds, either. I was pleasantly surprised to discover the Vivo holds 8 mediums, or can process a mix of 8 shallows and mediums if you load it properly. Cleanup is good, assembly is pretty simple, and it's light enough for a middle-aged lady to schlep around, which is such a relief. The honey gate is on the flimsy side and I don't expect it to last long, but that's an easy fix. Also, the instructions are pretty minimal, but there's YouTube a video that helped me with a couple of details. However, I do think a loading diagram would be a helpful addition to the printed instructions. So all in all, I have to give this little wonder five stars. It's such a great value I kind of can't believe my luck - I admit, I'm just waiting for something to break and send my high hopes crashing to earth, because things so sensibly priced just don't work this well in my universe! But hey, I live in hope, and no matter what happens in future, the Vivo sure beat processing almost 80 pounds of spring honey by hand. :-)

This extractor was actually better then pictured and described. They upgraded the basket that holds the tangential frames (see pictures). It allows for a more stable placement that holds the frames in place when extracting. The gauge of the steel was also very good. I have put it together (very little assembly) and run the motor, just to check. I have not actually used it extracting but recognize that it will perform very well. I will modify the leg by placing and attaching them on a raised base. The legs come with right pre-drilled angle bases on the leg to allow bolting them onto a base. There are some extra sleeved bolts and nuts that I am not sure where they go.
