I recently bought the non-folding rooftop rack but it ended up being to tall to use a parking garage. These folding racks did the job though. They came fully assembled unlike the other racks, work just as expected. Install was easier, they provide scuff pads which the others didnt. The straps are more rugged than the other, these came with a rope that has a locking hook component that seems much sturdier. And also a notch at the top of the rack to keep the rope from slipping. Plus they look cooler. For $10 more than the others absolutely worth it. Says they are American made which is even better.

Great kayak carrier!!

These are wonderful! It's so nice to be able to fold them down instead of having to take them off and put them back on. FYI our factory roof rack is very narrow, and we had to use hard rubber cut to size to go between the bar and the bottom attachment in order to get a snug fit. We bought the hard rubber on amazon, cut it, and drilled holes. Worked perfectly!

Easy to install!

I searched out different J Racks for a very long time before settling on these. I'm new to kayaking and setting everything up so I needed something easy to use. I had these installed in less than ten minutes and I found the folding capability to come in extremely handy for 1) driving without using the racks and 2) loading the kayaks onto my car. I'm a small chick so getting the kayaks up on my Toyota 4Runner can be a little challenging. Being able to fold these back really helped me load them with ease! Highly recommend. These are great quality!

Best deal you can find on amazon! Already came assembled, all you have to do is just clamp it in place on your crossbars. Feels like it’s made with quality in mind for the price it’s being sold for. My only gripe with this is but it’s not really an issue is that it didn’t come with ratchet tie down straps luckily I have some of my own. Other than that I highly recommend this product if your looking for yak racks! And yes it does come with two sets (4 pieces).

Good 2 Go!

Bad to the bone/Solid Good to Go! Am all about ‘buy once/cry once and this purchase did not break the bank. They’re already assembled. The rubber padding is non-marring closed cell rubber (not pool noodle foam kind). I bought extra closed cell rubber at Lowe’s earlier this week to ensure the ‘yaks wouldn’t get damaged - but that’ll end up going on another project now since the description is true/accurate. ‘Meh on the printed directions. 4 pages with 1” size images - common sense. Honestly, placing on the vehicle’s crossbars is the only thing you have to assemble though. (So easy a caveman can...). While no straps are mentioned in the description, it came with a pair of ¼” rope pulleys (which I will use as a backup for anchoring the ‘Yak’s bow and stern to the hood and tailgate. I’d already bought 2 sets of those so.... i’ll figure out a project 🙃 somewhere else. Since i didn’t anticipate straps i’d purchased those separately on Az (Malone 15’ HD Load Straps # MPG307-15B). These are cinch straps which’ll stay fastened and prevent anyone ‘cranking down too much and damaging the hull which you run the risk of when using ratchet straps. The only other nit pick I’d have is the adhesive rubber squares you apply (to where the carrier comes in contact with a vehicle’s roof rack) are too small/Not enough... hey looks like I found a spot to use that extra rubber padding👌🏻 No hamsters were hurt during this review and I didn’t receive any kickback from anyone.
