Free build surface solved age old problem!

I'm a 23 year Engineering Team Leader and side hustling Maker. You can find us on element14.com and Raising Awesome on YouTube. I was not paid or provided freebies for this review. The PLA filament worked just as any I have used before. The specs were a little wider on the diameter, but I chalk this up to them actually being honest on the true variation at their manufacturing facility. However, I mic'd the first foot and it was within +/-.02 versus the advertised +/-.05 mm. The price was $1 cheaper than the normal brand I purchase, but it gave much more value. The first cool thing is that they label their spool with the needed parameters to apply to your software for a successful build such as extruder temp and bed temp. It also shows remaining length and weight of filament on the sides with peek holes to gage it by. The big thing is the free build surface they provide. I've used glass with a gluestick, aluminum with painters tape, and aluminum with Kapton® tape with hairspray. Aluminum with painters tape works very well. However, the build surface they provide blows the others away. It provided plenty of grab and I don't have to destroy the surface or the part to remove it. Kapton® tape is messy to install (you do it like automotive window tint with soapy water) and you waste a lot of time to do it bubble free. Also, Kapton® sticks so hard, you can easily tear it when prying the part off. The build surface that came with this filament doesn't tear and holds stronger than painters tape. But, you can get it off the surface quickly without damaging your part like you risk with Kapton. To apply the build surface to one's print bed, it takes seconds. You don't have to worry about pushing out bubbles under it like Kapton® either. You need to just take care to keep it straight - not that it will affect your build - it will just bug you if you land it crooked. In sum, the filament is on the money with other brands. Best filament I've bought!!! 10/10

This is the best filament I've bought! It came in a vacuum sealed re-sealable bag with a big desiccant bag to capture any moisture. Also came with a nice build plate with a 3m sticky back on it wich I thought was a nice touch so you can always have a nice surface to print on. The spool itself isn't flimsy at all and has helpful length indicators on it. The red color is SUPER vibrant and not a off color like other brands that I've tried. This is the only brand of filament I'm gonna buy from now on! 10 out of 10!

I'm extremely impressed with the way this filament has been going through my Ender 3 Pro. Great adhesion and goes through my extruder like butter. Extruder temp 195 Bed temp 55

Do you like Amazon Basics PLA? Because that's what this is!

Sure it may not be called "Amazon Basics" but this filament is identical - same spool, even the Overture logo and other writing on the spool match the Amazon Basics filament line. I love this stuff, it's cheap and it works well in my Prusa MK3S and my Monoprice Maker Select Plus.

Great price and bonus items included

I love how this company (unknown to me) has provided a small (5") ruler (both imperial and metric) as well as a free build plate protective sheet for no more than others charge for just the filament. The prints so far have just been a couple of small items, but the quality is as good as any other filament I have used so far. I plan on making another purchase of it soon, but first to get this one used up ;) Other brands could definitely learn from them, give a free build plate cover with the 1kg spool and make the buyer happy (I won't even use the cover, my printers have permanent built in covers to their build plates). And, well... Who cannot use a free rule?!

Surprisingly good PLA

Was a bit skeptical to try this, since my daily is usually Esun's pla+. Gotta say I'm impressed. Almost wanted to throw it away until I tossed it on my CR10S-Pro and it printed like a champ. My parts came out just as good as if I were to use Esun. This stuff pretty much feels like Esun, definitely switching to Overture from now on! Extras were nice, definitely see myself using the little paper rulers in the future since I'm always measuring stuff. The build plate stickers were a nice touch, they won't fit any of the printers I have but it's a nice afterthought. If this underextrudes on you try wrapping teflon tape around your spool holder, it'll make it easier for the spool to spin and it'll help any other rolls you try in the future.
