So Pleased with Mama Koala
I'm not new to cloth diapering and I wish I had these for my daughter! The sizing and insert stuffing is soooo much easier than our Charlie Bananas and the Mama Koala patterns are stinkin' cute! These diapers keep my son feeling dry even when his diaper is wet, which means I am using these overnight. I've recommended these to all of my cloth diapering mama friends. Thank you!

My Favorite Pocket Diapers
I’m 12 months into cloth diapering and I can say these are my favorite pocket diapers I own. Even better than many of the way more expensive brands. They are just simple, nothing complicated, two snaps on either side to fasten. I’m frustrated with some of my other brands because they have so many snaps and my son wiggles so much I can’t get the diaper on before he’s rolled away, but not these because they are quick to get on. My son has always been really chunky with very big thighs and these have fit him perfectly. Never had any leak issues. He’s now 12 months, 25 pounds and we have the height fully extended and the waist is on the second to last snap. I think these will probably fit him until around 24 months. Now, I have learned that I prefer All In One diapers over pockets because laundry is so much easier but that’s just personal preference.

Best Cloth Diapers EVER, No Cons!
I’m going to start out by saying that IMO, these are the best cloth diapers out there hands down. I own several sets of Mama Koala, and for reference I also own ones from Alva Baby, Baby Goal, and Bum Genius. I’ve stopped buying and using every other brand except my Mama Koala ones! Since Alva and Baby Goal are essentially identical, for review purposes I’ll be comparing these with Alva. Here are the differences and what I love about them: - MK outer shell material (as well as inner moister-wicking material) is so much softer than the other brands - Despite having the same weight rating, MK diapers have a much slimmer shell and more snug fit - Because of the smaller snap wings the back elastic basically wraps around the whole backside, which makes blowouts much less likely - This also applies to the elastics around the legs which fit much more snugly with MK diapers - Amazing quality. The snaps are secure, elastic is strong, and both have held up wonderfully during washings - And as a bonus the designs are relevant and adorable with clear designs and bright colors. Every diaper hasn’t been through several wash cycles and still looks brand new. Overall, I find snap diapers to be better in the long run than Velcro which tends to lose its integrity after a few washes. These come with microfiber inserts which are also great quality, thick and soft, very absorbent, and have snaps to adjust the size. However I don’t use these on a day to day basis since I prefer to use my diapers more like snap-in AIO’s and just lay preforms inserts right on top. This allows me to go the whole day only having to use 2 shells and is so much cheaper than buying actual snap-ins. I have never had a blowout with my MK diapers whereas I have with the others, again I contribute this mainly to the difference in fit. Which brings me to my next point: if your babies tend to be on the upper end of the growth chart you may like the other brands better, but coming from someone who has had 4 preemies that have grown to be more small framed children, these diapers are amazing. I started using these with my youngest when she was 3 months old and had finally hit 8 lbs. She is now 6 months old and 12lbs but because of her prematurity about the size of an average 3 month old. I still have the snaps on the smallest setting length wise and they fit beautifully. I don’t anticipate her outgrowing these before potty-training since my 6yo doesnt even weight 35lbs :) As with most cloth diapers, they are bulkier than disposables which can be an issue with clothing. In our case, I don’t even put pants on her because they’re so stinkin’ cute as is. She just wears a tshirt or dress with them at this stage. I have recommended this brand to friends starting to dabble in cloth diapering, and I would recommend Mama Koala 🐨 to you too! I love 💜 them! And have included a ton of pictures since, as a fellow Amazon shopper, I know how important it is to see actual photos :)

Great diapers, great savings!
Definitely a win if you're interested in saving money or the environment. Great diapers that fit even my 7lb twins, cute patterns my wife loves, definitely some of the best on the market. Here's a breakdown of what my costs and savings are. Twins: 1 daiper a piece every 3 hours That's 16 diapers a day, minimum. Or (if you take into account the extra changings that are bound to happen) 500 a month. That's 6000 daipers a year... Even if I ace potty training, I'm still looking at 9000+ diapers and I still need the kiddos in some absorbent pull-ups post potty training. Now the cost. If I'm buying bulk diapers (the cheapest I trust is the Kirkland brand) I get 192 daipers for $30. For me, that's $60 a month for at least 18 months (again, not counting the post potty training stuff) so, rounding up. That's about $1100!!!! Now, if I buy 30 cloth diapers per kid, 60 in total. That's a whopping $400. That's enough to give any new parent a heart attack BUT, and I can't stress this enough, I save $600!!! Not to mention if we have another kiddo, we can pull these out of storage and the savings are immediately felt. You can also sell them, it may seem a bit... Unsettling, but there is a used market for these. For some that's may not seem worth it, especially having to wash poopy diapers but trust me, you're going to get used to all sorts of bodily fluids you never expected to become familiar with. As well, you're going to be doing laundry ever.... Single... Day.... Babies poop, pee, and vomint on everything. You won't even notice the difference on your water/electric/gas bill compared to regular diapers.

Amazing
These are fantastic! They fit my 9 lb baby boy better than rumparoos, no leg gaps and absorb amazingly! My babys butt stays dry because the material wicks it away well. These are well worth the money and adorable

So far, my favorite one size pocket diapers
I’ve tried Nora’s Nursery, BumGenius, Alva Baby, and Mama Koala’s and I have to say I think Mama Koala’s is my favorite. Firstly, I prefer the way the snaps are positioned. There are a lot more snaps on the diaper which gives a lot more flexibility of where to snap so that the diaper doesn’t look improperly fitted on my son who has a pretty big round middle. Secondly, my husband prefers the gigantic pocket size you can put the inserts into. The pocket also comes with a flap on the inside that covers the inserts and keeps them securely inside. The other diapers have much smaller pocket openings and don’t have the inside flap except for the BumGenius. Mama Koala’s comes with inserts that have snaps so that you can double up in the front and also so that the size can be adjusted along with the height for the diaper. These snaps are very similar to the Bum Genius. I use these inserts during the day when I know my son will be changed more often. The other brands will give you two inserts per diaper which Mama Koala does not. And I do prefer doubling up at night so that I do not need to wake my son up to change his diaper. So that’s probably my one knock against Mama Koala’s but you can buy inserts separately so it’s not that big of a deal. I also love that the cost of Mama Koala diapers is consistent among all its fabric design varieties. Navigating Alva Baby on Amazon is a nightmare - the prices for various packs is all over the place ranging from $25 to $60. And there are multiple listings. Also the price for Mama Koala’s is great! Very well priced and the fabric designs are awesome! Nora’s Nursery is a bit too pricey considering the snap and diaper setup is almost exactly like that of Alva’s and their designs are not as fun. BumGenius is out of control expensive with one diaper being $20 and I just don’t think it’s worth it. I highly recommend Mama Koala’s for fun fabric choices, the great build quality of the diapers, and the awesome consistent pricing which is a great value. If I need more one size pocket diapers, I’m definitely going to buy some more Mama Koala’s. Just buy some additional inserts or use your newborn cloth prefolds as additional inserts for those times you need more absorption.

Completely healed diaper rashes caused by regular diapers!
My second child (girl) is 18 months, and we completely switched her to these cloth diapers about three months ago. How I wish I’d looked into this sooner for her (as well as our toddler who’s already out of diapers). But... you learn as you go, right? My hesitation then was thinking they’d be gross and a hassle to clean (the thought of feces in my washer, yuck) or constantly cleaning up leaks in the night. Well, let me tell you - I stand corrected on both issues. We flush #2 and toss the wipes in a bin in the garage and soak the diapers in our laundry sink before tossing in the washer on gentle with mild detergent. They stay soft and clean up well. Many times, I’m throwing them in thinking they’ll come out stained and I’ll have to trash them anyways. What do you know - they come out looking new. As far as night leaks, we don’t do sippys at bedtime anyways so it hasn’t been a problem. They absorb quite a bit so I don’t think it’d matter either way. (Just knowing her skin, I try not to have her sitting in anything that long.) Short back story: I bought these out of desperation after my cousin raved about them. Both our kids have VERY sensitive skin. We’re contantly treating eczema, can only use specific soaps, cut out dairy and other foods. It’s helped some but our baby still would have these constant diaper rashes, despite being changed every 30 minutes whether she needs it or not. Well, these diaper rashes led to skin infections on two occasions. After this last stint of antibiotics, I researched a ton and was shocked to learn about the types of chemicals used to make diapers. Well NO wonder her skin is irritated, leading to diaper rashes that are essentially tiny open cuts in a yeast/moist area of her body that is already prone to bacteria growth. As soon as we switched, it was a night and day difference. For us, that was obviously the culprit. We used pampers. I know plenty of parents who use normal diapers and don’t have an issue - and that’s awesome! But for us, it’s just not the case. And these Koala diapers have been a GAME CHANGER for her. I was dealing with CONSTANT rashes and now she has PERFECT skin there. I’m so grateful for that. Not to mention, they’re cheaper than buying diapers. I also switched our wipes from pampers to the honest company. If you’re dealing with similar never ending diaper rashes, give these a try! I’m happy we did and I’m back for an extra set.

High Quality to Cost Ratio
These diapers are great. I would give them 4.5 stars (since unavail - I have upgraded them to a 5) For the purpose of this review I'm comparing them to a a well loved Bumgenius 4.0 Pocket Diaper (aka BG) because they are very similar and its a very common well known diaper used in the US. FIT The cut and fit is identical to bumgenius. Elastics are secure without being too snug. Fits 6 wk old, 11.5 lbs, with skinny legs no problem. I am confident it would also fit a large baby as its identical to BG. It is little bulkier than BG but that could be because the BG inserts have been washed 1000 times... And... You can always switch out the insert. QUALITY As compared with diapers in this price range - they are FAR superior! Compared with more expensive diapers they fall short of some tiny details - nothing which I think will contribute to the use, functionality, or wear and tear of the diaper. Some key differences between MK and BG: The snap closure in MK is not reinforced and stretchy like BG. The top front of the MK diaper doesnt have the TPU on the inside. The back flap of the pocket for MK is on the inside instead of outside. The MK interior fabric isn't quite as soft as BG. Oh... And they have a 1 yr warranty just like BG BOTTOM LINE These diapers can't be beat. As someone who has used top of the line diapers and china cheapies these are definately the bang for your buck diaper you have been looking for. They look like they will hold up as good as any other diaper out there. If you are looking for top of the line quality - you are 90% there at 25% the cost. And the prints are fabulous!

Adorable, excellent quality pocket dipes. Superb customer service from Mama Koala.
I'm cloth diapering my third baby, so I know cloth diapers pretty well. I've used probably a dozen brands of pocket dipes over the years, so I have a lot to compare against!! These diapers are an excellent value. The first batch I received had a few issues with snaps popping open during wear, but when I posted my initial review to that effect, I received an email from Mama Koala offering to send me replacement diapers. The new batch has no snap issues, so I'm updating my review to 5 stars, not only to reflect the quality of the diapers, but also the excellent customer service. The prints are adorable, and overall, I would absolutely purchase from Mama Koala again in the future. Side note: I only use the pockets of these dipes, since microfiber inserts are impossible to keep from getting horribly stinky. I purchased the Alva baby bamboo inserts and use those instead. (The microfiber inserts have been repurposed for household cleaning!)

Favorite brand
We tried several different brands and Mama Koala is by far our favorite. It’s pocket is easy to stuff with inserts opposed to the others which have elastic in the back and are harder to open wide enough. They also have ridiculously cute patterns that change regularly. They have held up really nicely through serveral cleanings already. For those mamas reading reviews out there my system of cleaning I’ve figured out after some finagling is: one cycle cold water rinse, once cycle hot water with detergent and one cycle regular rinse with some white vinegar for smell. To get stains out I use lemon juice in the sun and then dry on low with wool dryer balls. It’s summer in New England so sun is aplenty but at some point I’ll have to figure out how to get the stains out without sun but I’ll cross that bridge when I get to it.
