USB C hub for iPad

Perfect USB C hub for use specifically with iPad, but I'm sure it'll work with computers too. I bought it to be able to import video files from SD and micro SD into my iPad and nothing else I've purchased has seemed to work this well. I can also charge it while using the dongle AND it has a headphone jack. If you didn't know, the 2018 iPad Pro does not have a headphone jack, or an SD card reader, but this dongle/adapter allows you to do it all. Now I can edit from my iPad seamlessly with the use of this one dongle. So glad I found this product!

Everything I needed plus more

My needs for a USB-C hub is simple - having recently upgraded to a 2018 MacBook Pro 15" from a really old one that had multiple USB ports, an SD Card reader and ethernet port (in the event WIFI is spotty or unavailable), 3.5mm audio output, I really needed a hub that would provide these needs with the ability to charge my iPhone and I am glad that I found POWLAKEN 11 in 1. Even though it has more output port types than I needed, those are pluses. I quickly put it to the test when I received it. What I found is that it works best with power delivery, ie plug in my MacBook Pro power adapter into the USB Type C in and then plug the POWLAKEN to one of the existing USB Type C in on my MBP, things just worked like a charm: With this setup, I was able to charge my MBP, additionally, I was able to plug my iPhone XS into a Type 3 USB port and two external hard drives into the other two Type 2 USB ports, an SD Card into the SD Card port and everything showed up simultaneously: I was able to charge my iPhone XS, access its music from iTunes while accessing data from the external hard drives and SD Card. I also tested the 3.5 mm audio output with my headphones which worked great. I turned off wifi on my MBP and tested the POWLAKEN's ethernet port and I was able to get internet connection. I do not use monitors so I was not able to test the HDMI 4K and the VGA ports. The POWLAKEN does get warm but does not get overly hot. All in all, I am pleased with my purchase.

Great USB hub

This is the second USB-C hub. The previous was a Dell brand, which I thought would be a good product for me as I am using a Dell XPS 13 laptop, however the dang thing died after 2 months of light use. Dell was not able to fix the problem for me. When I saw POWLAKEN had their own solution to a USB-C hub, I knew I needed it. I use an external monitor (1080p) for school with a wired keyboard. I also really like having the option of plugging into ethernet directly. This is the perfect product for my needs. It has been a super reliable plug-and-play hub. The device does not get hot at all (I'm not even sure I'd call it warm) even when using 4 USB ports and the HDMI port for a couple of hours. The size is perfect, and it plugs snugly into the USB-C port on my Dell. There is a small indicator light on the hub which does not bother at all when all lights are off. I'm really very happy with this product, it has been very worth the money for me.

Very happy with this!

The USB Type C Hub is going to be very handy. I currently don’t have anything that uses USB-C but know that everything I will buy in the future will be using this type of connection and I want to be ready for it, especially after I get my new MacBook! I connected this to a newer laptop at work and found that it was easy to use. I did not have to follow the directions that were provided. I am really impressed with the different options available with this hub. It has three separate USB 4 ports which can be used with a flash drive or wireless mouse, keyboard or HDMI display. The small size is perfect for connecting all my devices without taking up a lot of space on my desk. I love the fact that this hub is able to connect to a projector. I present at conferences and this will make my set-up much easier to deal with. The small size and light weight of this hub makes it easy to travel with. I like that I can also plug my phone into the device. I am impressed that this is compatible with both PC and Mac. I use a PC at work and a Mac at home and it is convenient to have a hub that will work no matter what computer I end up on. This is the second product I have purchased . I have found that their customer service is excellent. The communication is fast, thorough and friendly. Products were received quickly and as promised. I highly recommend this product. You get a lot of connectability for the price.

It works! Great!

Laptop has 3 USB (Type A?) and one USB Type C. I needed the 3 "Standard- TypeA?" USB's for the Oculus Rift but I still needed 2 more "Standard" USB's - one for the mouse and one for an External Hard Drive. This works perfectly. It's what I needed. There was a coupon for $15 off which made this a very competitive price compared to the competition.

Just what I needed for my Mac Book Pro

I have bought multiple devices to hook up to my Mac Book but this one provides me everything I need in one compact package. It is small and compact but big enough to feel like I am not going to break off the connections in the computer if some one hits or bumps me. It is excellent for travel. I currently purchased a second one to use in my office as a docking station.

Everything you need and it works just fine!

Just one dongle on one port to take care of everything including charging my MacBook Pro and it works great! 4k monitor works at 30hz and full 4k resolution. No 60hz support at 4k so if you're a gamer or serious movie person who must have that, pay attention. The HDMI and Ethernet ports work as does the mic/headset jack. Great audio quality! Connector fits well. Haven't had an opportunity to test VGA port.

A Lifesaver

I work as a traveling IT guy at my local school district and manage around 1000 Macs between 4 Elementary buildings. We recently upgraded our staff devices to 2018 MacBook Pros, so I've been tripping over all the different unitask dongles I've needed to connect USB drives, and ethernet cables, display adapters, etc. This compact device, however, has absolutely everything I need, so it has eliminated a lot of swimming through my pack to find just the right adapter. I think I may very well have saved years of my life, and not just from recovering the wasted time. Would make a great docking station as well. A note: when I first plugged in the ethernet cord, my computer couldn't establish a connection. I simply unplugged the dongle, deleted the USB 10/100/1000 Ethernet adapter from my system preferences, plugged the dongle back in, and manually added the USB Ethernet interface back and it recognized the connection immediately. Whew. So, everything works great, and it is more affordable than a number of other all-in-one adapters I was shopping for, including several that had less features-- a must buy for anybody with a newer MacBook Pro!

Excellent for Mac users

This is exactly what I am looking for! Everyone knows that new MacBook Pro only has USB 3 connector. It is a hassle for me to carry all different connectors, USB 2, HDMI, Card reader, just name a few. They are all “expensive “! Yes, OEM Apple brand costs a fortune. This little hub combined everything together in a small form and provides all the functions I have been looking for. Easy for travel, good performance. I like it so far
