Best SIZE for Monarchs and Swallowtails
I liked the smaller size. I have another much taller one from another company and it wobbles and the plastic was so wrinkled you can hardly see clearly. The size of this habitat was PERFECT and the viewing area was perfectly clear with no wrinkles. I will order this again next year from this company.

EXCELLENT for raising Monarch butterflies!
I bought several sizes and two of this size for when my caterpillars were getting ready to become chrysalids. I use plastic containers for the small caterpillars til when they become stage 5 and ready to pupate. The tops of these give plenty of room for about 16-20 chrysalis's. However, when they eclose (hatch), I have another one of these right next to it and put the monarch in those when they have dried off and starting to walk around the top of the cage, stretching their wings. I put them in the second one that has no chrysalids because I don't want them to hurt their wings by hitting the other chrysalids nor do I want the other chrysalids to be disturbed. Also, having a second one allows me to take all the active butterflies out to release them without having to worry about the chyrsalids as they stay back home out of the sun. I LOVE the double zipper of these cages. I had an old one with one zipper and you have to be careful when you take out one butterfly to feed because suddenly it seems like the other ones find the opening! I love the 2 zippers because I can fit my hand in there just large enough to get the one butterfly to tag or feed and then able to quickly zip up the small opening. I love the double netting because it keeps even the smallest of gnats out. Item always arrived quickly, great communication with the seller and I always bought the different sized ones from this seller because they stand behind their work. One of my large ones came in cattywompus and they delivered a new one immediately! I just can't say enough about the seller. OH! The reason why I got the medium to giant size was if there was a lot of rain in the forecast for days, I was able to keep all of the butterflies happy by being able to let them exercise their wings and to be able to fly in the extra large one. The giant XL one is large enough to fit up to a pre-teen child, not that you will put your children in there of course! I love the convenience of being able to fold the cages inward to flatten them and then they pop out in a perfect cube every time. I traveled every weekend, an hour away and I would have to bring all my chrysalids in one small cube, the newest butterflies in the second small cube, the older ones in the medium sized cage, and brought the ginormous pop-up one so they could have a "play pen" like you would have one of those "fold and go" things for a toddler that you brought everywhere. Sorry to ramble on... hope this helps those who are helping to save the monarch populations. Only 3% of adult Monarchs make it to adulthood. The pop up laundry hampers that are cheaper, have holes that are too large and that could let in parasitic wasps and tachinid flies that will eventually kill the monarch by having maggots crawl out of the chrysalid. THATS why you need this container, the double netting wont let ANYTHING in. When the season is done, you can just pop close all the cages and put them away (after bleaching of course). Oh! and when I bleached (1 part bleach to 9 parts water), the color didn't bleach out! Not even a little bit!

Very good for raising monarch caterpillers.
I bought the same product a few years ago, was overwhelmed with monarch eggs this year, so order a second habitat. I put the plastic side on the bottom to be able to clean it more easily. I am happy and relieved to be able to buy this habitat again, I keep my larger caterpillars in them, and they can easily hang from the netted top to form their chrysalises when they're ready.

Success! Four of six caterpillars made it to butterfly!
I utilized this cage for four giant swallowtail caterpillars in Florida. I reordered and have big and little ones for monarchs in Michigan! I have added three more cages and have released 58 monarchs in Michigan somfar. They work great!

Butterfly raising cage
This year I have one monarch in its chrysalis and eight caterpillars. I bought two of the 15x15 cages. One for the one that is already in his crysalis and the other for the caterpillars since you can’t mix butterfly’s and cats and one will be a butterfly before the others. Anyways I love the cages. They arrived on time in perfect condition. The plan was to put whole plants inside but decided using a bunch of leaves on damp paertowels was just as easy to clean. I clean it every day lately it’s turning into twice a day since they eat and poop so much. But still easy to maintain and I can move them easily to a window or outside and they get plenty of fresh air. Don’t take long for them to be too big to escape through the cage. I plan on buying more cages next year so I can raise more monarchs. I would recommend these to any one.

Upgraded since my first review
The first 2 tents I got had a problem where the mesh wasn't stretched tight enough and the tents rocked around when trying to use the zipper. They weren't squared off and that's what caused the movement when trying to zip them. Upon writing that review, the seller got back to me immediately and asked if I'd like replacements. The new ones came and are fine. Excellent customer service!

Watched the chrysalis become a butterfly!
This cage worked perfectly as I watched my caterpillars first become a chrysalis and then morph into a beautiful monarch butterfly. It was easy to view the amazing transformation and then release them to start their trek South!

Great.
I use this size for the newborn caterpillars when I feel, due to weather, they need to be inside. And we are in Texas so we have some all year long. Love this and the large size also. They hold up well, scrub out well. just always check the zipper through the clear window before you use it to make sure no one is “in the road”.

nicely made and works great
This is a really nice butterfly habitat. It's large and the construction is good and solid. I like that it has handles so that I can hang it when it's time for a release. The zippers are solid and the seams are good. It has it's first caterpillar and all is going well so far

Good price, good quality!
When I discovered a bunch black Swallowtail caterpillars in my parsley around the time a hurricane was supposed to hit I decided to bring them inside. After a quick search on habitats I went with this one because of the price and reviews on quality. I got the smallest size. It's been working out great! I'm going to send it to school today with my daughter so the class can see the different stages of my five caterpillars (I had to remove 2 because they were apparently trying to eat the others!) Just know that caterpillars poop a LOT so you have to clean this cage daily. Line the bottom with paper towels. The only issue is that sometimes they poop while attached to the side and this is hard to clean!
