INTERESTING AND FUN!

I have never used anything like this before, so I was intrigued by it just to begin with. With an entry level price, I figured it was worth a shot. It does come with instructions and everything you need to start playing around with the Pen and the materials. Like someone else said, it works similarly to a glue gun but just with the use of plastic materials. It comes with a stencil to make glasses. Its key that you go over the material more than once because it seems like its really brittle. It was fun to work with and the pen seems of a high quality build. I will continue to try it out but it works well.

Interesting item but now sure what it would be used for?

My kids were super excited to try this item as we've been hearing about 3D printing for a while. This one is an inexpensive way to get an idea of what it's all about. We opened it up and it seems well made. It has two different spools of plastic, but no explanation about what the difference is between them. Once seems slightly thicker than the other but that's all I can see. The instructions leave a lot to be desired. They are very basic and I had to watch a Youtube video to figure out how to work it. There are also parts in the box that have no explaination as to what they are used for... After watching the video we were able to get it working quickly. It worked exactly as described and my kids thought it was "super cool". I'm not really sure what we would ever use this for...it seems like a glorified glue gun to me, but maybe my kids will create something with it!

Great for kids!

This is such a nifty little gadget! My nephew thoroughly enjoyed experimenting with this on Easter. For starters, it works much like a glue gun which made it easy to use considering I'm a beginner. It has different heat and speed settings to fit the project and/or user. It comes with a stand which makes it easier to contain any slippage or mess. It came with filament and everything else we needed to try it out in the box as well as stencils to play around with. Very fun for the kids!

Easy for Beginners to Use and Fun to Just Play Around With!

I've always wanted a 3D pen, but just never really made up my mind to purchase one until recently. I think this product is definitely a good choice for beginners as it did not only included clear instructions on how to operate the pen, but simple templates for you to work with as well. This product did not come with all the colors I needed; therefore, I had to purchase some pen filaments separately. However, enough pen filaments were included for users to create different figures with (just the colors were limited). When I first got this 3D pen I was extremely obsessed and made an Eiffel Tower. Since this was my first time, it wasn't perfect, but it was very fun. It is definitely a bit more challenging in the beginning to control the speed and time at which you want the filaments to come out of the pen but after a few attempts, I was able to get the hang of it. I think practicing with the templates that they provided will definitely help the user get used to how the pen operates. After doing so, it will be easier for you to handle other projects. I am extremely satisfied with this product and enjoyed building and making different things with them.

Great product for entry into 3D pens

This product was very nicely packaged and came with everything you needed to experience a 3D pen for the first time. The heat was consistent and quick to reach desired temperatures. You can choose between different filament types and it will adjust setting internally accordingly. I really was glad that they had a couple of templates to use for trying out the pen to get a feel for how it ran. It took and minute to figure out all the controls and not all of them functioned as expected from the instructions. Loading the filament was a breeze, but unloading afterwards took time as the entire length of the pen must be unloaded. Next time I will just cut the filament and use it up. This is a cool toy and I look forward to showing it to my kids to let them build. With supervision, they will have a blast. The things that I would change is the cord to plugged the pen in with should be twice as long and the instructions could be clearer.

Great 3D pen for beginners!

I've been wanting to get a 3D pen for a while since I first saw them. I finally decided to make the plunge, and am very happy with this one. It comes with 2 filaments to test with (1 ABS and 1 PLA). I tried it out using both types of filament and one of the included stencils, and really like it. I'm familiar with soldering, so my hand is a little steadier, which made it a little easier to follow the outline of the stencils. The 3D pen is quick to heat up to the desired temperature, so you don't have to sit and wait forever before you can start using it. Overall, I'm very happy with this 3D pen, and plan on buying additional filaments!

Good Quality and Beginner Friendly Pen

I was very excited to try out this 3D pen because I saw so many cool projects being created with them online. This is my first time using a 3D pen and it was so simple. The instructions were very clear and the pen was very easy to set up as there was a diagram of the pen and what each button does. In the box, there were two stencil sets and two sets of filament to get you started. The pen heated up very quickly and all you had to do was feed the filament in to soften it for use, which is similar to feeding a glue stick into a glue gun. When you first start, it is kind of difficult to control, but it is very quick to get a hang of it. Using the stencil, you make each part by building up the filament and assemble it by sticking it together using more filament. I thought this pen was of good quality and a great project that you can do with your family and friends. I tried it with my friends and included some pictures of what we managed to create. All in all, I thought the pen was worth its cost and a great way to spend your spare time.

Super Fun

My kids were so excited to get this in the mail. They couldn't wait to start. The pen is easy to control and works well. The trick is how to stop the flow of the plastic. My daughter loves to be creative and is enjoying using the pen. With practice she will be able to create some great at work. I am glad I bought extra filament with my order. If you have kids who like to create things this is a fun item to get them started.

Perfect for the aspiring 3d enthusiast

If you've ever been in the market to start 3D printing, or just wanting to get your hands in that industry without breaking the bank, starting small with a 3D pen may be the way to go. Not only do you get the functionality of a device that can make art in 3D for you, but you learn the mechanics of how 3D printing works. This pen will show you the temperature gauge of how hot it is, help you guide your filament (the material that melts and then hardens into the plastic) through the pen, and have you created works of art in no time. This was a very fun item to buy to show my son how it works, and I don't regret the purchase at all. You are able to find stencils online if you want more artwork to buy and there are tens of thousands of tutorials to help you get started. This was a definite fun purchase and I'm glad it's been received so well.

Fun craft project

I’m not really into crafts because of the limited space I have. I pretty much only have an extra drawer and that’s it. I wanted to do something fun to do that was creative and relaxing, but something a little more exciting than just adult coloring books. This is pretty much perfect for that. I can still do something fun on my coffee table without having to worry about making a mess like using clay or paint.
