Works for me
I needed to hang some heavy pictures on my walls and decided to purchase a wall stud finder to help me locate each stud and ensure that I got the studs' center with the heavy duty picture hooks. After perusing a lot of products on Amazon, I had a choice of several familiar brand name products and quite a few not so familiar brand name products. I decided to pick one of the latter and after reading some reviews for several not so familiar brand name products, I decided to order the Homder Stud Finder Wall Scanner. The product arrived in simple, easy to open cardboard packaging, which I liked. It also contained a detailed instruction sheet covering its operation. A 9-volt battery was also included. After reading the instructions, I started to use the stud finder. It was easy to use and performed as expected. It was fairly easy to find the leading and trailing edge of each stud, and therefore, to determine the center of the stud. I'm confident that my heavy duty picture hooks are now embedded in the center of every stud I used as opposed to worrying about inadvertently nailing a picture hook too close to the edge of a stud and having it fall out over time.

This is a great multi function stud finder.
This stud finder is great. It is easy to use and with the ability to find electric wires, studs, deep studs and metal it is worth the money. I was going around my house testing it out and the accuracy of it is great. It had no problem finding studs in the wall and electrical lines. It was a little hard to find the wires, but I don't know how far the wires were behind the dry wall. I don't have any deep or metal studs so I couldn't test that feature. The display and beep shows you exactly where the center of the stud is. The only gripe I could have is that the beep is very loud. Other than that, this is one of the best stud finders I have owned.

Great portable stud locator
This successfully located wood and metal studs through commercial and residential wall board. I enjoyed the automatic center of stud visual on the screen. I felt this portable unit was indeed quite accurate and fool proof. Before cutting my walls, it was also very nice to scan and locate any electrical wiring behind the wall. This unit definitely increased my confidence level to not damage said electrical wiring. Granted, one does have to remember to put the unit into electrical scanning mode. I discovered this feature was somewhat hit and miss so caution when opening walls is, as always, merited. We only have plastic water pipes so I wasn't able to check out the plumbing locating feature. Uses a standard 9v battery, features visible and audio alerts and is easy, intuitive to use. A tad short when compared to Star Trek Tricorder but for this millennium (anyway) a very handy affordable addition to any tool box...scan long and prosper!

Works Great
Recently repainted the entire first floor of my house (side note - had a great experience with Behr paint, not so much with Glidden) and so all the pictures, fixtures and decorations had to come down off the walls. When all the holes were patched, filled and painted, everything was ready to go back up but I didn't know where. We used this stud finder to properly hang all of our heavy items to make sure that we weren't going to wreck any more walls or make any more holes than necessary. For example, I stupidly thought that if I put an anchor in along with the screw, I could hang my wall mounted coat hanger right by the door, willy nilly. I was wrong. It came out three times, making an unnecessary 9 holes in the wall before I gave up and the bannister became the coat hanger. Bad decision. Now I can hang it once and hang it right. Next weekend I'll be wall mounting a TV for the first time. I'll edit/update review if needed but I don't anticipate any problems with this tool. I

An impressive amount of features and value in this Stud Finder.
This 4 in 1 stud finder has worked flawlessly and had everything I needed to hang some pictures around the house. It even came with a battery and a few wall anchors which was great. The unit itself can detect studs both wooden and metal, electrical wiring and pipes behind the wall. So far, I have only used the unit for some light duty picture hanging but it's nice to know that this unit isn't a one trick pony. One note, you need to make sure to read the instructions. There's a calibration procedure that you must do that is clearly explained in very detailed instruction manual. The calibration procedure takes like 15 seconds but is crucial to the unit working properly. Of course, I would never just pull a product and start using it without reading the instructions and then wonder why it wasn't working. ;) There are a couple of other companies selling a similar product, but Homder always has great customer service and offers 18 months of after sales support. They really stand behind their products. Overall, I am happy with this unit and with the included battery and wall anchors, I think it is a really good value.

Accurate and Super Easy Use
If any of you have used a "stud" finder before, you know that a vast majority of them don't really work. Those that do, tend to require a PhD. in Advanced Rocket Science to get them to work properly. This tool was amazingly simple to use. As a man, I am required to use all tools without first reading the instruction manual. I was able to figure this tool out without breaking it, myself, or anything around me. I also found that it was really accurate. We recently had to open up one of our walls to do some repair work and I got to see where the studs were as well as the wires for the lightswitch. Armed with this knowledge, I used the stud finder with the intent of seeing it fail when I already knew where the studs and wires were. The stud finder won.

Must have for New Homeowners
Back in the days when I first moved out of home to attend college, I was so excited about having my own home, even though it wasn’t even my home technically (1-year-contract of rent around campus). I began to make a lot of holes on the wall to decorate it with some cool picture frames and shelving units, thinking that I can just clog the hole with toothpaste or bathroom tissues when I move out. Then a grand catastrophe happened. The shelf fell, ripping off my wall… because I didn’t put the holes into appropriate places. I got a stud finder this time not to repeat my past tragedy. This affordable stud finder can locate center point accurately, and warn me with a big sound when I’m off the correct location. Overall, a must-have for DIY people to maximize space at home :)

Works well, really like the power wire indicator!
We have used several other stud finders in the past, and while most have worked quite well, some have definitely not been great. We got this one hoping it would do better than most, and it does! In testing it, I was able to use a couple of different walls where I could see what was behind, and so could easily test how accurate this is (as well as comparing it to the other one we've still got). This one is a bit different to use, as you need to wait for it to calibrate each time (which only takes a couple of seconds, but it's different that we're used to). We didn't need to use the "Deep" mode, as all our drywall is 1/2", but this worked great on that. One thing that I really like is that it gives me an indication that there's a power wire behind the wall -- in the picture, the little lightning bolt on the left shows me that there's a power wire running very near to the stud that has been located. When I looked at the back side of that wall, sure enough, there was a power wire! Very useful information! The other wall I tested on had a couple of odd things, such as a 2x4 that had the wider dimension against the drywall. The stud finder didn't find the center of it, but did show me where the edges were, which was nice. Not having it find the center was a bit confusing at first, but it makes sense. We don't have any metal studs, so we weren't able to test that functionality, but the rest of it is really nice! We're definitely happy with this one!
