An absolute necessity if you have only two hands!
These Wago 221 lever-nuts are brilliant. One big advantage is that they work well with small and finely stranded wires in combination with large solid wires. Non-lever push-in wire-nuts don't. Twist-on wire-nuts _can_ but it's tricky enough that I'm not 100% confident in the results when using twist-on nuts for anything but the simple connection of 2 or 3 solid wires. The 221 lever-nuts are also great for awkward situations where you used to need one hand to hold up the light fixture, two hands to hold the wires, and a fourth hand to twist on the old-school wire nuts. With the 221 nuts, you can pre-install the nuts on either side, open the levers on the empty slots, and then it's possible to insert the final wires and close the levers with a single hand while your other hand supports the fixture or hangs on to the ladder, flashlight, whatever. This is especially great when you've got 2-3 wires in the box that need to connect to a wire going to a fixture: you can pre-install the wire-nut on the wires in the box -- leaving an empty slot for the wire coming from the fixture. And you can remove/replace a single wire from any size connector without undoing the rest of the connector. I really can't say enough good things about them. They're expensive (especially in small quantities) compared to twist-ons, but definitely worth it. I liked them enough that I bought complete boxes of all three sizes so I can re-stock the handy carrying case when I run low.

Where have these little devices been all of my electrical life??!
I happened to run across these little devices while watching a youtube video about wiring a combination switch/outlet in a wall. I saw the electrician using these devices and thinking, this would be a great timesaver but more importantly, a fantastic space saver in the box and no more twisting multple feeds of 12 gauge wire together or having to joining braided wire with solid copper wire in a pigtail. I received them and immediately went to work wiring my own combination switch/outlet in my bathroom. I didn't realize when I opened up the box there were 3 feeds coming into box. This made for some confusion as well as a lot of wires! The Wago lever nuts made short work out of the whole procedure, I had to join a total of 4 neutrals together in order to make my switch/outlet work. Normally, I would have cursed up a storm because joining 4 leads of 12 gauge and 14 gauge together in a pigtail in a neat manner is no easy task for a novice. I stripped the wires locked them into the lever nuts and locked down the lever and I was done! I tested the holding power of the nut and it took quite a bit of effort to get the wires to come out of the lever nut so I'm confident that wires won't accidentally slip out of the lever nut. To be sure I wrapped some electrical tape around the nut for added safety. These nuts are allowed by electrical code so no issues there. I don't see electricians using them because they are more expensive but as a time and frustration saver for a novice it's a grand slam! Wish I had these years ago when I was dong electrical work in my old house. that house was practically rewired by the time I was done with it. Highly recommended!
