Just got it today and started using it. Used a store bought distilled water and it was reading 002 ppm, which should be about correct since distilled water essentially is suppose to remove all impurities. Used it on our filtered faucet after water softener + filter and reading 377, and faucet without filter reading 406. Outside spigot (hard water) 460. These are PPM = mg/L. Dissolved 1 tsp of salt in 1 cup of water and reading 650 ppm but had a x10 symbol which means 6500 ppm. Using the distilled water as reference it seems to be pretty accurate. Will be installing a reverse osmosis filter instead. Will see what type of numbers this device will show. Very easy to use. Didn't really need to read the manual. Just remember the entire device is not water proof so don't try to dip the entire device into the water to measure. Update: 9/29/2019 Installed the Brondell Reverse Osmosis filter today and got readings of 015, 025 while the regular sink without the filter was reading 356. This is softened water. Therefore, something must be working right. I've also notices some bottled or "natural spring" waters are reading in the 100 range which I assume contains some minerals, etc. So both the TDS meter and my RO filter is working. The RO filter is another story cause its leaking water. Remember: the TDS is total dissolved solids. It does not tell you what those solids are. I assume because of my water softening, its exchanging Ca+, Mg+ with Na+. Update: 10/4/2019 Returned the Brondell, went to HD and bought the GE RO and didn't work, at least it didnt leak like the Brondell. Finally, Menards model worked. It was also the least expensive of the three. Easy install and worked like a charm. See photos of readings. Obviously the first is straight from the faucet with water softener while the second is through the RO filter.

I like everything like birds and colors and food and sometimes people and laughter and exploring and innovating and designing and mitigating and prototyping and if you're still reading you may just be your due diligence on a level above your average mo-fo, just saying, you earned it..

works for my needs in mixing plant nutrients. easy to view.. only be careful, if your ppm is above 1000, say 3500, the display shows 350 with a small ×10 in the right edge which may be hard to see if the display plastic is on so it can be missed and mistaken for 350, and a high ppm will kill your plants. lasts long. works great, love it. great value. thks.

I like this. Tested on verified 0 tds / came up 0 tested on non tds water and had a reading (though I couldn't verify otherwise). I have saltwater fish tanks and 0 tds is super important. The temp reader is a nice plus! It also comes with a heart charm on a red string that says "love". Kinda a weird unnecessary flex, but thanks lol.

in saltwater aquarium accuracy of equipment is the key element to success, this product is accurate and reasonable prices. works great since 3 or 4 months I have it. would definitely recommend this product

and the deal paid off! Glad this thing works - At first I thought something was wrong as I tried it on some distilled water and the PPM rating was a solid 0 (although I knew it should've been around zero but didn't expect it to be exactly) but as I put it in some tap water it shot up to 227 PPM so I'm pretty satisfied with this product

I recently purchased a water filtering pitcher that is very good. This TDS meter showed me that my local tap water had a reading between 290-300. The filtered water had a reading of 0-5. I know the filter is working and when it nearly time to replace the filter using this measuring device.

Pretty decent. Nice that you get a pleather case for the TDS meter. Comes with batteries installed. Nice and simple easy to read. I gave it 4 stars because the temperature is a little off like by 10 degrees. This was verified with 3 separate thermometers but if you are looking for a TDS meter because you need a thermometer then idk what to tell you. Overall I would recommend this product to anyone. This is one of the rare items that are really cheap in price but is excellent.

The TDs meter is easy to use, reliable and is very inexpensive for such an important tool. If you have aquariums with shrimp and sensitive tropical fish it is a great method for determining water change needs.

Easy to use right out of the box. Tested tap water and read 627 ppm then tested my RO water and got a 7 reading. Good buy for such an inexspensive product.
