It was exactly what we needed, something that does not leach chemicals into our food. A little coconut oil before and after and this thing does its job.

Very well built and pre-seasoned. Covers fit nicely inside the skillets without sliding off. Other cast iron is not Lodge quality...It is easy to compare these to the other brands, simply by looking at them and then trying on the competitors lids...if they have any.

Love the lid... use it all the time.... Love that the skillet was tampered (seasoned) already.... Use this size everyday....

I LOVE my Lodge cast iron skillets! The versatility is so convenient, and the pans can go from the stove top to the oven. I am also happy to have ordered the set including lids, as I find that I use them frequently! The food seems to taste better, for some reason, when I use my cast iron... I got rid of most of my other cookware! Caring for cast iron pans is not as difficult as I thought. Just reference a YouTube video for details.

Cut Down my kitchen time , especially washing time significantly. Cooks faster , doesn’t need to be washed after every cooking session . Free iron supplement for body !

I never owned my own and envied my mom for having two. It's brilliant and easy to clean and season (check ATK for advice). Just don't cook anything w/ acid like tomato sauce as it can alter the seasoning.

Got this to cook larger portions of meat and to act like a big flat bottom wok with my poor home attempts at stir frying. It overhangs the largest burner by several inches all around. It is also quite heavy so two handed operations for sure. It does fit inside a standard 30" oven for cooking and even heating for seasoning the pan. Has worked great for frying chicken, steaks and white guy stir fry (poorly done but i am trying). I imagine this could be great for camping and cooking over an open fire

You can't beat Cast Iron. Lodge is the best.

There is a bit of maintenance required to keep cast iron seasoned, but even if the pan loses it's seasoning, it can be remedied. This is truly a lifetime pan which can be used on the stovetop and in the oven. It heats evenly, and works well with many kinds of cooking methods.

Many years ago, hating some old cast iron skillets my parents gave me I threw them out. Everything I tried to cook on them stuck. They were nasty. They seemed to rust easily. Over the years I read about how good cooking with cast iron was. I decided to give it another chance but to try a NEW pan. I did some research and found Lodge. I liked what they said, their professionalism. The way they pre-season their cookware. I bought a pancake griddle and loved it. Recently decided to toss a coated pan for this very good 12" skillet. Got it today. Cooked an omelet in it. Very little stick to it (my error that). The taste seems better than a coated pan. Something about the simplicity of cast iron does it. I understand now that many people do not want to put a tiny bit of work into seasoning a ironware. It's like a hobby in which you slowly improve something that was great to begin with. The glass lid on this pan fits very nicely. Snug good balance to it. I highly recommend THIS and all other LODGE products. Now I wonder if they make a WOK... ;-) NOTE: This IS a very heavy pan but I do not believe you need to move it around much because the iron cooks very evenly.
