A much improved camera.
My review is based on the experience of using several IP cameras from different vendors over the past 4 years. Overall, the Wansview Q5 Cloud Camera performs very well and the initial setup / install is super easy and quick. With some of my other cameras, I sometimes spent hours (even days) in setting them up. I like the Q5 new form-factor which is nicer and much smaller than the previous Q3 camera. It feels well-built and I expect it to last for many years. The phone software can use some bells and whistles available from other competing IP cameras. That said, it is very intuitive and easy-to-use. In summary, I would recommend this camera because of its well-built hardware, functionalities, and price. Below are some more details: Pros: + Setting up the first time is quick (5 min for both software and hardware) with their easy-to-follow instructions. + Camera hardware is well-built, good-looking, and small in size which I like. + The wide-angle lens is the best I’ve seen in terms of clarity and coverage. + Crisp & clear images and videos - day and night (see images attached). + Excellent audio & mic (considering the small-size factor), definitely better than that on their Q3 and K3 cameras, and other cameras I’ve owned. + The Wansview cloud android phone app is easy to set up, easy to use and to configure. + Upon detecting motions, the camera sends me alerts on my phone, and 10-sec video clips in the mobile app. This a new feature. Nicely done Wansview! Cons: - No audio-detection alert capability (only motion-detection). - Viewing saved images, they don’t auto-rotate along with the phone’s rotating to a horizontal orientation (from a vertical orientation) - It would be nice if the phone app’s white background can be manually set to a darker theme like black. - It would be nice if the multi-camera screen can be set to load as default upon logging in. Currently it requires an extra click.

No DDNS option, but great customer support
Gave this camera to my dad. Here is his review: "Just got this new Q5 IPCam to add to my other Wansview IPCameras. First thing I noticed was the ease of setup. A couple of items to note: - Setup and operation are ONLY with WiFi. Plugged in LAN is not an option. - Your phone and Q5 will have to be in same 2.4GHz connection frequency. Q5 will only connect to 2.4GHz and your phone may be on a 5GHz spectrum, not gonna work. If your home WiFi shows two separate SSID’s for each frequency then it should be easy enough for you. I’ve setup my WiFi router to use one SSID only for both frequencies, I had to go into my router setup and temporarily disable the 5GHz radio to force all devices I have to the lower frequency. I turned the 5GHz radio once the Q5 was completely setup. - Like the fact they’re finally using micro USB connector from DC supply to IPCam and not the old 3.5mm plug in type - The Q5 will not work with the previous Wansview IPCam App but instead you’ll need to download their new Wansview Cloud App which is fine as well. - Image sample looking from my home office window is not that bad. I’m sure I can clean it up some more later. - No DDNS support. Camera will only work using Wansview Cloud App. I use a third party IPCam viewer App to use on all my other IPCameras (Foscam, Amcrest and Wansview), no luck on this one or at least not yet. Hopefully they will upgrade it for future capability. - The new Wansview Cloud App still need some work to refine minor UI issues particularly on the chat section. - I’m not a big fan of IPCam paid cloud subscription regardless who the service provider is. I’ll continue using the memory card option on this camera. I could save all recording to my own cloud system if only DDNS is supported on these Q5 IPCam Technical support either email or chat using the chat option on the App (even on Wechat!) was amazing. These guys are extremely helpful, particularly Simona! Will definitely order more again from them if only they can help on the DDNS option. Otherwise their customer support team’s ability is what pushed them to 5 stars."

Great quality
Wansview Q5 Cloud Camera I was surpirsed on the quality for this camera based on the price. I love the feature of being able rotate and tilt my view. Images and videos are very clear for a wide angle lenses. Set up took just about 8 mins which is a breeze compared to my other cameras. Comes with hardware for mounting to get the perfect view. The Audio on this little guy is excellent which is a must for me. Night vision I think is the best I've seen so far images are clean and crisp. Only downfall for this product for me ... 1) I wish this camera had a feature for audio detection. 2) viewing images and videos is restricted to vertical viewing vs horizontal with the auto rotate on my phone. Overall I'm impressed with Wansview Q5 Cloud Camera. Would recommend to family and friends!

Great picture and 2-way sound quality, and super easy to set up
I have always had excellent experiences with WANSVIEW equipment. The new Q5 model is really fantastic! I am very impressed with its 1080 HD picture clarity and resolution, improved 2-way sound quality, ease of setup within minutes, motion detection sensitivity, and outstanding technical support provided by WANSVIEW. The camera comes with lots of new features, including the new WANSVIEW CLOUD smartphone app. This app makes it really easy to capture video and snapshots for later viewing. I use an SDmicro card to store the videos and clips, or move them to my smartphone so I can send to friends and family. If you get the Wansview Cloud subscription, you can also hook up to Alexa. The Q5 is fully compatible with Q3 series cameras that I purchased several months ago – I’m just a big fan of Wansview equipment – the products have consistently outstanding quality, backed by excellent support! Highly recommended.

Another Great Camera by Wansview!
Another Great Camera by Wansview! I bought this Q5 camera because I own 4 other Wansview cameras and all of them are excellent! This new camera does not disappoint. Same excellent quality and performance. This camera used the new Wansview phone/tablet software. It is packed with many useful features! What I like about the camera: 1. Easy setup using QR code, just enter your Wifi information and then point the generated QR code at the camera! Setup complete. 2. Great picture Quality and wide angle lense. 3. 360 panning, tilting and zooming 4. Night vision is excellent... 5. Motion Detection and alarm 6. SD Card Recording! 7. Optional cloud recording... 8. Preset positions 9. Hidden SD card Slot 10. Long Wifi Range 11. Accessible over the internet! 12. Adjustable mounting stand. What I dont like: 1. Subscription based cloud recording. You get 1 month free and then its 50$ a year for basic plan. Dont get me wrong... it is a great option for those that can afford it but for cheap people like me.... a large SD card works flawlessly and it's free! If your deciding.... dont, just get it!

Nice camera at a great price
The Hansview 1080p IP Camera is an extremely well-built product with a very attractive design that delivers super high quality images in addition to truly awesome panning, tilting, tracking and masking functionality. Set-up of the camera is quick and easy through the free, user-friendly and intuitive app. I am especially pleased with the ability to record images via an internal MicroSD card or using Blue Iris which ensures that recordings will always be accessible. When used for home security purposes, the camera quickly and efficiently notifies the user via their cell phone of any motion alerts with the helpful option to listen to your surveillance or engage in live, 2-way conversation. The night time functionality of the camera is very impressive, with clear and high quality images via the camera’s infrared light technology. The ability to see images from the camera on my Echo Show via the Amazon Alexa app was easy to establish, and the interaction between these devices is flawless. Overall, this camera does the job it is intended to do plus more, and exceeded my expectations, all at a very reasonable price. This is not intended to be used as an outdoor camera but I am using it that way anyway. Before rain again I will replace it with a waterproof one.

Compact IP Camera! Easy to Install!
I have plenty of IP cameras in my house. They are a combination of DLink, Wansview, Tenvis etc. I have to say my most durable ones are from Wansview. I've had some for as long as 2010! They simply give you the best bang for your buck. I hate to say it but the reason ALL of these IP cameras have a low rating is because of one thing. User error. I admit, I have an IT background and installing these are really easy for me. The new cloud feature couldn't be more easier to install. Even my mom could do it, (sorry mom LOL). Just download the app, make an account, show the QR code that shows up on your app to the camera. Super easy. This new Q5 is my favorite along with my other Wansview cam (top photo). It is very compact (see bottom right photo). It also has a microUSB port for power (left pic). I hope this review has helped you.

Nice Quality Pictures, very easy setup
Picked up the camera to replace an old IP camera that stopped working. The setup was the easiest I have ever experienced. Download the Wansview Cloud app and follow directions. The camera will speak status which is a nice touch. It took less than one minute after I plugged in the camera to complete the setup and get it online. Essentially provide the SSID for your network and Wi-Fi password wait until the QR code comes up on your phone, allow the camera to view the QR code and you’re done. Picture quality is excellent in daylight or at night. I also noticed that the typical red glow from the infrared lights on some cameras is absent here. That makes it far less intrusive at night. I have used the motion detection with no issues. I have the setting on the mid-range levels and that works for me. The resulting videos are clear and easily viewed on your phone. The speaker and Mic also work well although for me that is not an important feature. The viewing angle is fine and I’m glad I can move the cameras up and down and side to side when I need to. The zoom function can also come in handy if you need to focus on something to get a better view. It has a fairly long power cord so you may not need an extension to plug it in. You can view two days videos on your phone, an SD card can be used to store videos (only viewable in you LAN) and Cloud viewing as an optional service. Attached two pictures with the same view one daylight the other at night. Overall a really nice camera especially when you consider its under $40.

Great camera Great price
A good looking camera with overall great value .Right out of the box it was easy to set up and get online .I downloaded Wansview Cloud App and followed the App prompts to walk me through the connection. The process took less then 5 minutes and the camera was up and running. The picture Quality is excellent during the daytime and night time vision is good as well. You have the option of purchasing two cloud plans or use the camera without a plan and use an SD card to play back the recorded video. With the motion enabled I get a popup on my iPhone I then tap on the popup an it takes me to the app to show me a snapshot of what the camera saw. All around this is an excellent camera and great price !! One other thing the audio quality is pretty good as well both listening and talking back its clear and easy to understand NOT muffled like on many other cameras I have purchased over the years
