I am using one of these when I am on my computer, it works well and keeps me cool.My wife took one into town with her and had many people ask where she got it.Although perhaps a bit bulky I would think it would help older people who suffer in the heat.

its very handy because its portable of course. i used it in my stockroom when im doing stuff like sorting things as my sideline income while im at home. i also used it in the garrage while we are staying in there playing with my daughter, its already hot here in florida. this small aircondition helps us to feel a little bit better. we just have to add ice in it. so the air will be cooler. and as you can read at the back, it says, mini negative ion air conditioning fan...and as we know negative ion means it will help us breathe cleaner, healthier air and protect ourself from exposure to allergens and viruses. this helps with my daughter, because she has weather allergy, she easily get sick from viruses. since she started schooling.

Great for small areas! Makes a difference!

Used the portable air conditioner in our boat this weekend down in cabin area while my we did some work. It was 85 degrees outside without a breeze so opening the windows wasn't much help. I put ice in the tray with a little bit of cold water and it really helped making the area a lot cooler than what it was before I put it in there. My husband was impressed and he's not an easy man to impress. I also used it at my desk at work in my cubicle and it really helped cool my area. If you have a small space to cool this is the perfect product!

Perfect cooler than a fan, desk fan

This is not meant to be an "AC", as someone else mentioned it has a swamp cooler type of cooling system. This works best when you place a couple ice cubes in the tray, followed by already chilled water. My wife just uses her office water cooler dispenser and it works fine. The spongy slats will absorb the cold water and the fan blows air past the chilled slats which cools the air. Again, this is a cooler than a fan, type of fan. My wife works in a hot office and she said this is noticeably cool than her desk fan. She is happy with it.

Handy for a computer desk

I got this to replace my desk fan at work, and I'm surprised at how much cooler it makes the surroundings. It's powered by a USB plug, so I have it running when my computer is on. It uses a small tray you fill with water to evaporate and the fan pushes the cooler air out. It's got a modern style to it and it's quiet, so easily fits in with an office desktop. Overall I'm satisfied!

Great personal air conditioner

It does what it says. It has been used every day for the past 2 weeks in hospital by my son who is a patient in a very hot ward. On battery power it does not last more than a day but on mains power via USB it works fine

Cold!

Powerful Litte monster. This think surprised me - came precharged (happy doesn't need to always be plugged in!) Along with a fill bottle and instuctions. Housing is removable and when you put in ice, the 3 speed fan pumps out some nice breeze. The unit has soak pads which absorb the water and make the fan much more efficient
