Although it's not a known brand name, this switch is very similar in appearance and performance to the known brands, albeit at a lower price. And it has a metal case, which I guess is preferable to plastic. I recently had a power surge that knocked out a couple of components in my computing environment, including a 5-port switch that had been working well for at least five years. So, with a desire to replace that other failed switch as economically as possible, I decided to take a chance with this Aumox 5-port switch. And it was a good decision. As it's a set-and-forget component, I'm not concerned about the fastest performance possible. I just wanted something that wouldn't introduce any added latency and this switch seems to be performing in that regard. I would recommend this switch to anyone looking for an economical 5-port switch.

This is the second time I purchased a switch from this brand, because the last switch I got from them was just perfect. I run an IT company based in Brooklyn, New York, and I often buy switches and other network devices like this. Usually I buy them locally because I need it right away. But when it's not urgent, I prefer to shop on Amazon and this is my go-to brand when it comes to network switches. In many cases, I need commercial grade switches, and then I go with the commercial brands. But quite often I just need a simple, plug and play switch to extend one ethernet port into multiple. Most switches can do that, but I found problems here and there with other ones, and this one has never let me down. So now I always get this one. P.s. I like that screws to open it are right there on the side. I hope to never have to repair a switch, but I like that this company is making it easy to repair if I would ever have to. Just shows that a company cares about the customer.

Pros Great little device for the money Made out of steel instead of the cheap plastic ones Has wall mounting capabilities Small footprint Works good It's no Cisco, but it gets the job done Cons I wish it had a Port indicated as uplink, but I figured any would work Wish the LED on the top lined up to the ports

Pros: this is an unmanaged layer 2 5-port gigabit switch. It's also quite tiny (see pics) therefore will fit better among the mess of cables behind my media center in my family's living room. I have another 5-port layer 2 switch from another manufacturer that is still in use near the home run by my Verizon ONT and router, and while that one has been perfectly fine for 6+ years of use it also cost twice the price of this switch, not adjusting for inflation, so to me the Aumox switch is a relative bargain. Cons: a really minor gripe might be that the alignment of the status LEDs above the ports could have been done better so each is directly above the respective port. It would help me to spot and identify problems just a tad more quickly if they arise. But this is really set it and forget it hardware so you're not going to be checking the LEDs often, likely just when plugging something new in or troubleshooting something on your network that flows through this switch. What I use this for: my FiOS ONT outputs gigabit internet via a Cat7 (yeah yeah overkill I know) cable to the Verizon router (a router I eventually will replace with a better third party one); the router is connected via Cat7 to a switch that has Cat6 runs to all bedrooms and media centers in the house. But where the first media center is, I have both a smart TV that I connect via Cat7 to the RJ-45 wall jack and am adding a TiVo box that I want to connect again with Cat7 and I have a Blu-ray player that currently is connected by WiFi but I want to connect by Cat7. I just prefer wired whenever possible because of the stability and speeds versus the fluctuations and interference over radio waves. WiFi is great and has its place in my home network but I use WiFi for phones and tablets primarily -- I like my PCs and other stationary clients to use wired connections whenever possible. I'm glad that I had my house wired with Cat6 and coax when it was built in 2012. Given my setup and the presence of FiOS gigabit speed, this switch is the right call for my family's growing tech addiction. If I was building a new house today, I might seriously look into wiring it all with fiber optic cable versus copper to future proof but that's irrelevant to this review and just the musings of my geeky self. :)

It's a basic switch. My modem/router only supports a couple of ethernet connections, so it was either this or wifi; and since my wireless access point sucks, this was pretty much my only viable option. I haven't noticed any lag from having a straight connection to my computer compared to having it connected to the switch - also, I haven't noticed any drops in connection. Currently sitting at 100 down and 10 up. I also use this with a (non-wireless) printer that I was able to configure to be found over my home network. I've never heard of this brand before, honestly, so I'm not sure about the durability of their products. If I notice any problems in the future I'll be sure to make an update.

I'll start of by saying this switch is small, I attached a picture comparing the size to a car key fob. I just received the unit so I can't talk about long term usage, but from the couple hours I've been testing it's been perfect. I am getting the speeds I should be getting with a Ethernet connection. So far I am very pleased with the switch. Also am still amazed by the size of the switch, very convenient. ***Will update in a couple days*** *1 Week of Usage* The switch still has been performing flawlessly, keeps connection and speeds very consistent. Great option for people looking for a plug and play switch.

Came promptly, small, and sturdy. I am using this for my many devices at home because I prefer wired connections. It works as advertised to split the connection among up to 4 other devices. Comes with the AC power adapter and instruction manuals. Can be wall mounted as well for a more streamlined look in your office! You’ll have to provide your own Ethernet cables as it does not come with any.

Great little unmanaged 5 port switch. The switch itself is very small measuring in at about 4"x2.5"x1". The metal housing feels very sturdy and overall I am using it to split a single wall jack to multiple AV devices and a NVR without issue. It does have 2 slots on the back so it can be hung and the lights on top show power and port activity. Overall I am very happy with it for the price and with no moving parts I don't see it really having any issues. It does not have a cooling fan so it is silent. Only con is it only comes with the switch and a power cable, no ethernet, but for the price you really can't complain.

It does what it's supposed to do giving you 4 additional gigabit ethernet ports to your 1 existing ethernet jack. It is not a POE or programmable managed/smart switch and it is not advertised as one. It works perfectly for me since it is very compact and sturdy. I use it for my workstation where I also repair other people's computers allowing me to connect their computers as needed to my Internet router. I have not encountered any serious cons yet with the device, but I would prefer the device to be black to match my other devices but, that's just a personal preference. I also prefer to have the Link/Activity LEDs on the jacks rather than on top of the device, again just a personal preference.

I needed to connect multiples devices wired instead of wireless as it is more reliable and stable. All the rooms in my house are wired with 1 GB Ethernet, however I need switches to connect multiples devices that shares the same TV to get the max speed of my internet (250 Mbps) and that when this little switch comes handy. Yes, it is very little but it works very well just as good as the other big brands out there like NETGREAR, TPLINK or LINKSYS etc. This is an unmanaged switch which means it plug and play and no configuring is needed. The box comes with the AC power adapter and instruction manuals. I highly recommend it
