I was very happy with these, especially for the price. They are indeed solid brass unlike a lot of the ones you see, which are actually brass-coated steel. I used these on both steel and aluminum small engine parts, and they did not damage them. They also did a pretty good job of removing old grime and so forth. They even sort of polished the metal to an extent on their own, which surprised me. They didn't do much with the paint, unfortunately, but some aircraft stripper helped me out with that. I really liked the different sizes and shapes, although the wheels seem to work better than the cups. I did get some pieces of brass wire coming off after a while, but it's not like they were falling apart. I must have used them for an hour or two pretty consistently, switching between them, and they are still in good enough shape to use again for sure. They did spread out after that much use, but I think that's to be expected. Anyway, these are a good option at a very reasonable price, especially because they are solid brass.

These drill bits are actually brass. Unlike others I e purchased which are more like iron coated in brass. I was able to clean out my cylinder heads and valves with no scratches. They don't seem like they'll last long but that's just the nature of brass.

Well-made brass wire "wheel" and "cup" brushes; actually brass wire, not brass plated as are many claiming to be brass; produces an almost polished surface on metal items being brushed; leaves no scratch lines in the surface being treated; particularly good on softer metals such as copper/brass/aluminum; workable using brush speeds up to 4500 rpm; has yet to lose any appreciable brush wires; wire tightly held in the center wheel or cup; meets, in many instances - exceeds -expectations; when these wear out, will definitely purchase again; highly recommended products.

I have used these extensively this past season, from motor heads gaskets to grease and other messes. So far these are really nice. They seem to wear OK. I haven't seen that they might last through more of the abuse that I personally put them through. In time I will see how good they really are. Soon enough I will find that out. I'm saying quality product and @ a price point you can't beat.

These are almost fluffy, very fine brass wire. Appear very well made, should be perfect to buff out my carbon steel pans without damaging them!

When it comes to cleaning deposits, with little to no scratches, it is hard to beet pure brass. Some brushes are just brass coated, but are more likely to scratch. The brass brushes did the job cleanly.

actual brass brushes and not brass coated steel. FINALLY!

The only issue I saw was the wheels were kinda smashed into the tiny box... deforming a couple of the wheels a little bit.

I used these brass wire brushes to clean carbon from the aluminum heads on my riding lawn mower. They did what was needed and did not scratch. I would buy them again. Ed

Worked great for my project. Used it to do a little brass glaze.
